Which artists should I react to in another episode ? 🙂
I don't know any artists lmao
Yasuke Murata, Hiromu Arakawa
Hehe 😅
Thank you for the suggestions 🙂 I’ll take a look at those two
Koyoharu Gotoge the creator of demon slayer, and Rumiko Takahashi the creator of Inuyasha
hori's guidelines are like deku's dad... nowhere to be seen
tiredcat 💀💀💀
Damn- 😭💀
😔
Omg 😂💀💀
His dad went to america to buy milk 🥛
“Noooo you can’t just draw people without guidelines!!”
Horikoshi: haha pencil go brrr
Lmao I love Horikoshi so muchhhhh
I remember the first time I saw that video. I was like. WAIT! WHAT!
yo i’m not even a hardcore weeb but I stan horikoshi
Yeah, I tried to draw deku the way he did once...
I didn’t go well!
Lol, you right though. (๑•﹏•)
Horikoshi’s sketch is basically already the line art lol
He starts from last step
Kinda reminds me of isayama lol
@@rusenpo basically lol
his mind be like: "well.... those first steps are kinda annoying and time consuming... IMA SKIP THEM"
Yes yes
I mean i sketch like that too. Definitely not that good (yet) but i draw quickly without extra lines too. So i get it. Its actually really relaxing and fun.👌
The reason they can draw their characters so fast is because they draw then so many times over and over
God yeah, they’ve drawn these characters millions of times so it’s embedded in their brains
True
lol
Oda has been drawing one piece for about 23 years now, it’s truly insane
I do the same and I am six hours drawing a potato
Just imagine putting out like 19 pages on average of this level of art quality WEEKLY ×_×
It is crazy, I suggest you watching “daily life of a manga artist” in it it focuses on the “rent a girlfriend” mangakas daily life
Oda probably has like 4 or 5 ppl who works for him that draws like background, details, editing and so on.
@@UknowIrock24 Than how is his work schedule as ridiculous as it is?
Yugoxgc well because he has to work with his editor who advise him with story and stuff and he has to come up with the story and he has to lay the foundation of each chapter and also draw it too. But when it comes to drawing he has ppl working under him who helps him. Almost every mangaka has them watch “a day in a life of a mangaka” or read te manga “bakuman”
@@UknowIrock24 you just listed a bunch of things all Mangaka have to do. So none of it explains why his schedule is so much worse
ITs funny to me to watch them use mechanical pencils, it definitely gives me some hope lmao
Hehe 😁 I love mechanical pencils personally, do you like them ?
modauth I do actually! I grew up using mechanical and it just feels right for my style still to this day
Thats what i use lmaooo
bruh mechanical pencils are my favorite to draw with 👌
lol i use mechanical pencil too the reason is i dont have to sharpen it
You watching the first artist is literally me watching you draw😂
Oh 😁 you’re too kind. I wish I would be as good as this 😅 especially as quick as those guys 🙂
modauth well the speed is never important😳you draw just as good bro🥺love your art💙
Dekuwu
I am a Potato I think speed dose matter if you’re working as a artist but being precise is more important but if you can draw really fast you can produce more work therefore getting more attention from people
@@drej1934 does*
“I’m lazy so that will probably never happen” Mood.
icyhot, hori drew your boyfriend
Katsuki Bakugo I guess your right. How cute.
Okkkk
@@sturniollo bruh
“I’m lazy so that will probably never happen”
I wish dear old dad had that mentality about you
Are we not gonna talk how his search bar said “titanic meme music”-
I'M -😂😂😂
Glad im not the only one
*interesting pfp*
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Average artist: Let me just draw these blocks and circle to pin point the proportions
Kohei: *Asserts dominance by jumping straight to every points*
Exactly-
Me: **doing a sketch for like 1-2 hours**
Me: oh, this looks good!
Also me: **watches those artists doing a sketch for 1 freakin' minute and realizes how dumb I was for thinking my 2 hour sketch actually looked good**
**cries in the corner**
Same😭
I feel that
Just spent time practicing and you'll be an manga artist
same
@Meliodas and also drawing the same character for 100 times
also season 3 you didn't do well on the animation
You know you are a pro if you can do a face with no guidelines, just in one go with dark big pencil lines
I think there are a lot of pros who can’t do it 😢 to be honest, the first one really blew my mind, it’s just incredible
I can do a face in one go no guidelines. Pretty decent too, but hands tho..
PowerJolt72 I have a pretty cartoony style so hands aren’t to much of a problem- Unless I have to do a hand close up, that sucks
I don't use guidelines when its an anime style, but if I use a detailed style I would need guidelines
I don use guidelines I just draw what I see 😅
The artist draw perfect hands with no mistakes make the ,head with no guide line
Me : *screaming*
Modauth : this is the really life time of the drawing
Me : I am gonna quit
It’s pretty scary if you think about it, but you shouldn’t forget that you don’t have to be as crazy good as those guys 🤗 it’s still a fun journey.
who the hell put the muffins in the freezer!?
i already quit!!
Pretty obvious that he DREW THAT CHARACTER A MILLION TIMES HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SRAW IT WITHOUT ANY GUIDELINES BY NOW
I never use guidlines...
The first mangaka, Horikoshi Kohei sensei, says that he LOVES drawing hand. In fact, his own mangaka mascot (most mangakas draw themselves as an mascot to send some messages to readers) is a DAMN HAND!!! An absolute god. ;-;
Also, on MHA manga, within the first 20 or so chapters, you can see DRASTIC improvements in his art.
Ah the usual mha fangirl
@@waynicliz
The "usual" MHA fangirl doesn't know about Horkoshi's hand fixation or how his art becomes progressively more detailed and dynamic. You're looking at a seasoned fan there.
Cant forget about the character who is literally covered in hands
@@waynicliz I'd rather call myself a Horikoshi fangirl. Thank you.
@@goji253 you can call her that, one of the things that make me not like mha, are the fans but its a solid manga
To no surprise Horikoshi puts in insane amounts of practice. If you follow his twitter, he's constantly just pumping out fun sketches of his MHA characters for seasons, promos, holidays or whatever. Truly loves his work
Hey guys! Reminders for people who want to become artists. Don’t worry that your drawings aren’t good. I also experienced things that I have to copy paste then trace my drawings because I suck. But I searched in the internet for my drawing practices. And now, after a lot of months of practices, my art style got better so you should do it too! Maybe after some years, I’m able to improve my drawing skills more and so you do if you just don’t give up. Good luck too! Stay safe and healthy! (I’m not good at english grammars so pardon my second language)
Thank you for that! I'm a young artist, I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil, and recently I've been feeling insecure about my art. But watching many videos and looking at many drawings, as well as reading your motivational comment, I feel much more confident and comfortable in my artstyle! Thank you very much.
Hey same experience here
Japanese should become an international language 😭😭... We are suffering
Yep, I'm all in with this idea :D
You'll love learning hiragana and katakana, the pain in the but is Kanji.
Good tip for any language you want to learn.
Start by learning the 100 most common and used words in Japanese. They make up about 85% of your speeches.
Not just japanese any language really.
And i would recommend going over to the youtuber
The Japanese man Yuta.
He has a course that teaches People Japanese and how people actually talk.
Hope i helped a bit, good luck on learning and remember to have fun while doing so
@@orangebeholder4096 Honesty thank you so much! 🙏
@@orangebeholder4096 Oh, thank you! I'll keep this in mind. (∪ ◡ ∪)
@@orangebeholder4096 I find the kanji super easy to memorize, the pain is that each of them have at least 2 pronunciations; one is used when the kanji is used with hiragana and the other is when several kanji are put together...
That deku's hands normally take me almost eternal do draw😀
I feel your struggle lmao
Horikoshi said he loves drawing hands. Hence one of the reasons for Shigaraki’s character design... I am so jealous
@Reyniel hipolito huh your joking lmao
I don’t even, mittens for everyone
@Reyniel Gaming you take more than a day?
There was actually this one time while I was reading the bnha manga and in one of the panels it had horikoshi saying "if I had five more minutes I could've drawn this better" and it was just the perfect translation to "damn you, tight schedule"
If anything, I'd love to see you react to Murata drawing. His work is on a different level.
Oop- Found you- 0-0
Hduwhei
It takes me longer to read OPM then it does some other mangas just cause I'm so amazed by the artwork & Wtf bruh I swear I've seen your name in the comment section in like half the videos I watch
You're even here ffs hahahaha
dude start your own youtube channel;your famous at this point.
Horikoshi always blows me away with how good he is at drawing. Too bad YUN YUN (the channel you’re watching the mangaka drawing on) has to delete all the mangaka drawing videos...
Why?
Copyright or something dumb
Seriously? Fucking corporate greed. I can understand that they want to block and delete all the manga episodes on the internet and anime episodes on the internet, but deleting mangaka in work that shows his fans how awesome he is??? That is just beyond moron and beyond greed.
@@senjusan6359 tbh Japan have very strict law about copyright.. even with videos and music videos
To all the artists like totally shocked at how fast they are remember that these manga artists have made many volumes of these manga and they’ve drawn the same character like 50 times at least per chapter and most manga artists are on a very strict deadline
So don’t be upset or disheartened !
They’ve literally drawn the same characters thousands of time !
Yes but always remember, there is always an asian better than you.
Honestly, I think Hori knew he was gonna have this interview with Shounen so he had pre-planned what he was gonna draw so he wouldn't get anxious and mess up. He seems like that kind of introvert lol
@ShonenAce especially gege
You should react to ...
Hirohiko Araki
Yosuke Murata
Boichi
Kaoru Mori
For me they are one of the best mangaka that I ever known
YES ESPECIALLY ARAKI!! the man can draw semi-realism AND the classic anime style, that's why I love his work lmao
Boichi's art looks so SMOTH
How about sui ishida?his artstyle in tokyo ghoul is really nice to look at
@@muhammadazrafbinmohdakmam4772 true , I'm reading RE rn and it might just be me but I feel like his art got worse? But the tk one is a masterpiece
For me it’s oda (mangaka of one piece) because he’s been doing this for 20+ years and still has the same consistency
Modauth: "Horikoshi doesn't do what a lot of us do and erase the lines."
Me, drawing over the lines: Wait you guys do that?
**noice** xD
Me: never draw line but it was good like newbie mangaka
Horikoshi: **draws**
Us peasant amateurs: *humaning.exe has stopped working*
w h e e z e
6:20 Kaiba is literally such a hard character to draw, especially his eyes and outfit, and i’m not even gonna talk about the dragon 😀
Waah I gotta practice more
Haha 😄 Same
I can’t even drawwww
We’ve all gotta practice more! Here I go, in my journey of self loathing and mental breakdowns in order to reach Horikoshi’s abilities.
im so suprised that they know how to draw so confidently and then I remember “oh wait they are just ocs” and i look back at my 100 or so ocs that i know how to draw from memory.
Wow, that’s a lot 😱 good for you. I should definitely think about creating some ocs
Woow, that is a whole archievement! So many creations... and you can draw them perfectly! You amaze me.
Horikoshi has drawn deku so many times, I bet he could do it in his sleep lol
*Horikoshi wakes up and looks at his desk*
"OH NO, I have done it again!"
@@lilulipeLMAOO
Titanic meme music in search bar lmfao
😅
as an artist i can confirm drawing literally any of the Yugioh characters takes some serious talent because one wrong move and it doesn’t look right anymore
remember guys...
there is always an Asian better than you
Im asian.... but im not better like them...
@@A_ldo.. same goes for you. There is always an Asian better than you.
Eirini Zervou at least im better than non-asians ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@A_ldo.. lmao I'm asian too but you're 90% better than me
@ShonenAce I went on their channel and their drawing is a lot better than mine
also that too
but usually when I'm bored I click on peoples channels to see what they're like
Me can’t draw hands
Horikoshi:
I am so in love with Oda's sense of perspective and use of colours
8:23 bro that's not Oda, that's Eiji Aonuma
The fact that nobody notices that is mindboggling...
@@MonkeyDIvan I noticed because I'm a fan of Zelda and One Piece, it was hilarious though
I've been scrolling the comments for 5 minutes to see if this was an inside joke or something.
The picture you showed for Eiichiro Oda isn't him. Its a picture of lead director of Breath of the wild, Eiji Aonuma.
Modauth: says that we've been doing it wrong by erasing lines when doing line-art
Me: um...I don't erase my lines when doing line-art
Of course I just mean just lightly erasing the lines with a kneaded eraser to lower the opacity 😁 my English kinda made this sound wrong 😁
@@modauth yeah, I understand that 😂 even though I don't do that either 😂
@@nonamesorry24 yeah I don't usually do that either, but I did it in my last video for the first time (not plugging just telling you my experience) and it was nice but I might have erased it too much cuz I messed up a little bit but whatever lmao
hori... u need to draw gui....
Horikoshi: Finished
Man as a major Yugioh nerd being able to watch Takahashi sensei’s artwork being drawn is so amazing! His monster drawing skill is especially fabulous.
These people just have all needed guidelines and shapes in their heads, they made and learned from so many mistakes through many years that it now looks like they do no mistakes at all. And I'm super jealous of their self-confidence.
I'd love to see you react to Dr.Stone's artist, Boichi! His art is BEYOND stunning, and he works with the same precision and care that the three in this video take.
this was an interesting video
Thank you so much 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it
Oda making art looking like water painting with freaking markers O_o
There’s this channel called Huta Chan, you should check out some of their art. It makes me feel insecure every time i watch 😅😂
Just checked it out 😱 you’re right, it’s amazing. Thanks for the suggestion
Yeah I know her too, she's amazing. I love Hyana Natsu too
Horikoshi: (jumps straight into art without guidelines)
My nerves: WHAAT THE HELL?! *WITCHCRAFT!*
Takahashi: (uses guidelines on his sketch)
My nerves: Oh thank God...that's better.
i think they drew their characters so many times that, they can see them on paper while we cant xD
Guys, these people have drawn these characters thousands of times! No problem for them.
It’s amaz how they do it
Aaah ily keep doing this stufffff! Also can you do some tutorials soon? I’m a beginner and would REALLY appreciate some. Ty!
There will be more tutorials soon 🙂 Thank you so much for the support
something to keep in mind when watching mangaka draw out their sketches, especially any mangaka working for shonen jump, like the 3 in this video, is they only have a week to get their story boards, shading, effects work, AND all edits/re-edits done. the japanese manga industry is an INSANELY demanding field.
the way you edit omg so much humor this is amazing, thank you for the laughs
Watching these artists makes me lose motivation to draw :p
Haha 😁 on one hand these videos really motivate and also demotivate me at the same time 😅
wait a minute, I see you everywhere xD
@@modauth same
Lol they just make me more motivated
At least you _can_ draw...
-I'm a beginner ok?!-
Actually, one thing I really feel after practicing some time is that those drawing master ppl when they start their first line they basically already has the guideline in their mind, they don't need actually draw them physically, as they practice enough their mind and hand could already do some parallel work :p
I like your vibes! Such positivity and kindness ❤️
I love how precise Oda is with his background. Even without artlines, you could immediately tell which character is that in the background.
i’m going insane, you’re too underrated, w h y
you’re talented and entertaining and jsjshsjsh, wow
Thank you so much 🙂
Wonderful artwork‼︎
It is 🙂
That guy is insane...
Without guidelines, perfect proportions, everything finished. Insane.
I love ur videos mo, they inspire me to draw all the time :)
Horikoshis video is basically:
God making art for 10 minutes
Exactly 😭✋
The fact that I can draw better after watching some motivation video
A few minutes after that: Back to my usual self 😂
I can really relate to your reactions. I’m amazed with the confidence and speed these artists have!
I think I can say that I’m a decent artist (mainly with drawing) but it takes me forever to draw things let alone finish them so it’s kind of frustrating...
I've seen two out of the 3 vids before I saw this and this guy literally said everything that went through my mind as I was watching them - including the many moments of pain. As someone who also draws, I feel you mate 😂
*Modauth talking about erasing then inking*
Me: feeling guilty
(I also can’t stop looking up at his youtube search thing that says ‘titanic meme music’ for when he reacts to the second one)
Me finishing my drawing that took probably two days: finally.... I’m done ....... now time to see if it looks like the drawing they did on CZcams!
This...:
*Cries*
Don't cry😭😭😭
Cry harder because you're gonna get bullied for seeking attention in a video of drawing while nobody relates to you and they are just lying because they are better than you
@@everywhereman9003 ??? rude
Ok this is just wholesome this man.this man is so wholesome and positive and nice
They have drawn it so much that it comes so natural to them.
I'm not that shocked at how Horikoshi-sensei draw because back in my school days my artsy classmates draw like that lol. And they use ballpens.
4:35 why is it in his search bar at the top it says titanic meme music??
because it says so
He has mastered his own designs and characters from how many times he has to draw them. That is always amazing to see.
I actually love videos like this because I'm a 13 year that is obsessed with drawing and anime/manga are my favourite things to draw so watching this is starting to give me my motivation back!
This is after constantly drawing and making mistakes btw, they didnt wake up a mangaka

Omg i love Odacchi not only his art but the intermissions in his mangas are always the best
They're so confident and quick omg
i thought everyone erased the pencil lines AFTER the inking, otherwise why do you do the sketch? or am i crazy?
Mostly you would erase it almost completely, so that the sketch shows very lightly, and then ink over it. You don't erase completely. But other people erase after the ink, like horikoshi did
OH MY GON.
Horikoshi is a beast when it comes to no guidelines 0_0
This video was so wholesome

I think those artists are so good, who don´t give up and push forward.
this really inspired me now i gotta draw more before i publish my manga
You should react to Yusuke MURATA's arts from the manga: One punch man...his arts are MIND BLOWING. Especially in the last few chapters of the manga. One of the greatest mangaka of ALL TIME in my opinion.
Horikoshi actually sketched it out beforehand, his under drawing is right there dude 😅
Maybe I’m blind but I don’t see an underdrawing 😰
modauth at 0:48 and 1:07 you can tell , if you look at the jaw/ear on the right hand side and on the left you can see it when he doesn’t draw a curl like he did in his underdrawing.
We tend to do that a lot , sometimes use a lightbox to help ease seeing the sketch or we use blue col-erase pencil and then ink it traditionally, scan it and put the coloring mode to black and white ( it will than remove the blue colored pencil lines).
Artists suggestions:
Hiroyuki Imaishi, Sushio, Yoh Yoshinari, Atsushi Nishigori, Kazuto Nakazawa,Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Toshihiro Kawamoto, Jim Lee, Joe Madureira, Jorge Corona, Humberto Ramos, Lesean Thomas, Chase Conley, Ronald Wimberly, Shawna Mills, Shiyoon Kim, Robert Valley , Jamie Hewlitt , David Finch, Coran “Kizerella” Kizer, Mikhail Sebastian , Sara Pichelli ...
I think you should have enough right 😂😂😂
Check Todd Nauck out as well, he’s here on CZcams too or Skottie Young who recently joined due to the pandemic..
The pencils look so smooth 🤌😩
I feel like all of these crazy manga creators got their incredible speed by having to draw so much in such a short time frame , they’ve practically mastered the skill :0
This guys is the pewdiepie of the art community and I like him
artist: doesn't use a single guideline yet looks perfect and everything is proportionate
me: *cries in talentless* I use so many guidelines and STILL can't get things to look good......
The ability of drawing hands perfectly is a huge flex
The rendering part by part is the approach of most hyper realism colored pencil artists I’ve seen.
1:26 I mean he has a villian (shigiraki) who wears hands so I'm not even surprised by this lmao also I do the same with shadows as Hori
what? i always thought erasing your sketch AFTER the inking was the norm.
me too bro
I watched an interview of a mangaka and one thing that always stuck with me was the amount of practice the studio has the artists go through. One of the exercises was drawing a 100 pages of straight lines in a specified time limit.....
With the crazy workload and schedules mangakas have, I'm not surprised they reach a level where a "sketch" is a perfect drawing
