Well, the individual sprites were more detailed in J, but the attack animations were still very well done in OG2. One thing you may notice is the use of a flash on-screen, sometimes used to mask in-between animation, making the overall motion of the sprites smoother.

Okay, maybe it's because the video's a little blurry and would make it harder to tell, but it almost looks like those attacks have even smoother animations than the ones in SRWJ... which would be very strange, as I'm fairly sure SRWJ came out after OG2.
This may have been a small glitch that wasn't completely worked out before the release of this video (before the original release of the game.) Although extrememly unlikely, it might have been a removed scene from the game's prologue. You can see that Wodan's attack clip also has his quote against the blue "allied" background.
2:53 Ouka rules! Rapiecage...not so much cause people make fun of the name, but I like the mech anyway. Its too bad this song can't be found without the sfx.
I have a question when that that scene with Axel being classified as "good" and Kyosuke being "bad" (battle quote window wise) happen? Since I've have yet to see it happen.
Certain things are smoother... though don't be expecting anything PS2 grade... (though I look forward to OGS partialy for that reason.... but mainly due to A) your efforts in the OG part carrying over to OG2, and B) new characters

They don't suck at all, stop being such a 12 year old.
Try playing some of the older ones (Advance, R, D, etc.) if you think OG2's graphics suck.
