    The truth is the fact that the networks couldn’t see profit in the PAC due to poor attendance and tv ratings. I don’t understand why this doesn’t soak in.

    • @user-wf4ou8dn6y
      @user-wf4ou8dn6y Před 10 měsíci +3

      The poor TV ratings were a direct result of the Pac12 Network being unavailable to such a large segment of the national viewing audience, plus so many games being on late at night. And, as a fan who had Oregon State season tickets for nearly a decade before moving out of state, the late night games probably didn't help stadium attendance either. I know I hated that drive home back to Portland after midnight, often in foggy conditions in October & November.

    • @roris5882
      @roris5882 Před 10 měsíci

      @@user-wf4ou8dn6y I agree, the lack of Pac12 exposure killed their conference. When I was in the military stationed in GA I was able to watch every Ohio State game on my regular Comcast TV cable package because all the games were available on Fox Sports if they weren't on a major TV network. The B1G Network was a brand new thing at that time but the TV networks figured out how to televise the large B1G brands and import conference games nationally.

    yeah, some hard feelings inside the SEC about FSU. In fact, Chris Low a longtime SEC reporter kept being pushed about the SEC for expansion. Finally he said, Greg Sankey likes Miami and UNC. That tells you something.

    • @roris5882
      @roris5882 Před 10 měsíci

      ESPN didn't even have enough money to pay the SEC for a 9th Conference game. That's probably why Sankey was crying to Finebaum about realignment. The B1G negotiated a better TV contract because they already have the escalator clauses built into it to add ND, FSU, Clemson, and UNC to drive it's value through the roof. After that the SEC is in major financial trouble because they will never be able to catch up to the B1G no matter who they add.

  • @None-dj8iy

    • @roris5882
      @roris5882 Před 10 měsíci

      Yup, the fans that are assuming the B1G is going to wait around for the SEC to match them by playing catch-up are living in a fantasyland because that's not how this works. This is big business with Billions of dollars and the future of college football at stake. ESPN couldn't even afford to pay the SEC for a 9th conference game. The B1G already has the escalator clauses built into their new TV contract to add new members. After the B1G adds ND, FSU, Clemson, and UNC then it's over because the SEC will never be able to catch up to them financially no matter who they add.

    Preseason Rankings are just ranking team talent because the teams haven't even played. That's why the it's ridiculous to actually apply any type of ranking system until at least half way through the season so we have enough data on the teams to rank them properly. The Preseason Rankings often overrank the mid tier SEC schools so whenever one of them beats another they fly up in the rankings and whenever they lose a close loss to each other they call it a good loss to a ranked team to justify keeping them in the Top 25. Ranking Bama so high is ridiculous because they don't have a decent QB, the most important position in sports, and they have struggled at developing a decent passing attack. Bama has more talent then every other team because they have recruited better then everyone but they aren't a complete team and they are turning into ND Jr. The SEC is now a 1 team conference because it's UGA and everyone else. UGA has a cakewalk to the playoffs because nobody from the SEC can challenge them. The SEC definitely isn't as dominant as they used to be.

    • @roris5882
      @roris5882 Před 10 měsíci

      How would the Big12 push the SEC out of Florida when they already have a large and well established fan base? Then when the B1G adds FSU and Miami they will add the other 2 largest fan bases. The Big12 has no football blue bloods and all their members have small fan bases. That's why they earn less money then the Super 2 Conferences. After the players start earning their fair share of the TV revenue they generate the Big12 will be left in the dust because all the best players will go to the Super 2 to maximize their revenue.

    For all those people who don't think there is a generational gap between people that tell the truth and not worry about consequences. You're so wrong there is. Most people I see that have platforms in college football that are younger they're mostly sunshine poppers for the team and they do what they think the fan wants and wants to hear. Shameful. You'll have some exceptions of course bud

    So you want me to believe in you? Tulane is not the #9 team in the country. And kansas state at #7. Stop drinking your own kool-aid. So if USC plays Tulane 100 times you saying Tulane wins over 50 games? Exactly.

    1:48 gee he’s psychic! You mean when USC & UCLA said they were leaving he predicted the Pac-12 would dissipate? Crazy. My 97 year old great grandma predicted it too & she died 2 years ago and never watched football.
