This was also a PC inter active game my son LOVED it. "Citter" was his nichname He is now grown up but to this day the name Critter is how he is refered to

I couldn't believe the difference between the books I bought for my son who was 8 when I had his sister. The books were originally called Little Monsters. Wiki confirms this but doesn't say what year or reason the monsters became critters.
I don't. I was looking to see when they changed them. I lived through it-I was a young mom for the early ones. All the early Mercer Mayer books were Little Monster with my son-all of them, which I still have. 8 years later with my daughter (1987), they were all Little Critters. I have both-looking at them both right now. Same exact stories and artwork, different title pages. I have two Just Me and My Dad with both names eight years apart and probably others-I haven't found them all yet. Possibly they were differently named in different places.
