Someone pointed out that I continue to refer to this stateroom as "Infinite Balcony" when Celebrity actually refers to it as an Infinite Veranda stateroom. Sorry for the scew-up. My bad.

Balcony, Veranda it is one of the same...people just love to cherry pick...I would love the person who stated that correction would please tell me the difference between a Balcony Stateroom and a Veranda Stateroom...or maybe that person will come back and say "They are not Staterooms they are Cabins...GEEZ...Or how about you are not going to Dinner, you are going to Supper...well you get the point...

No problem. Edge class ships have staterooms with, what some people would consider, "actual balconies" - Sunset Verandas and suites.
      Your videos are highly appreciated!

Hello sir, yes my wife and I take naps every day when we were on our cruise. It gives us the necessary energy that we need to motor on for the rest of our day. We are also traditionalist and prefer a real balcony as opposed to the infinite balcony so for that reason we would never stay in the infinite balcony stateroom. Yes we use the term balcony instead of veranda because it sounds less pretentious 😄. We just subscribed to your channel. Please keep up your great reviews and we really enjoy your honesty. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Just disembarked from Apex a couple weeks ago after back to backs in the Caribbean. Your assessment of the infinity stateroom is bang on. My wife always brings a small magnifying mirror so that was fine. Where one might miss a regular balcony is for drying bathing suits. As you point out, there are several pluses to this infinity balcony. But I think we slightly lean toward the regular balcony. Neither would be a deciding factor on choosing a cruise.
The Apex is most beautiful of all the ships we have been on.
These were our 15th and 16th Celebrity cruises. We have kind of settled on Celebrity except for Cunard for transatlantic.
    Excellent detailed review.

Thanks for providing the measurements. My thought is that the rationale for the infinite veranda is to increase the interior space of the stateroom considering that most people do not use the balcony very much and certainly not all of the time. It is a tradeoff.

But we know we cannot afford to continue to travel in the future each and every time in the retreat lounge and are hoping we can transition into a infinite veranda space to allow us to travel more!!!!!! thanks for your in-depth reviews. It had always been my thought the infinite balcony was just a fancy window that opens and not a true balcony. I was glad to know I was not the only person who had this impression and was pleased to hear this critique.
I am also disappointed to hear about a service charge for room service. Princess is regularly hundreds of dollars less and has no charges.
The charger cable management system is very nice touch.
Thank you for sharing your experience Chris and Ricky. Your reviews are through, well thought out and organized are among my very favorite on all of CZcams and if I were to review your review it would receive 5 thumbs outs 5.

Great video. We are on Beyond in 2025 and switched from infinite veranda to the sunset Veranda. The Wife wanted a real balcony. :) Plus we've never done an aft cabin. I've also heard that the new infinite style "balconies" reduce drag on the ships. i've heard up to 30% better fuel efficiency.

Great explanation and tour, thank you. Yes, I nap! To be honest, I prefer an interior cabin for this reason. Really, I only use the cabin to sleep and shower - so I'd rather spend the cash I would use for a balcony on an excursion or wine with dinner. Speaking of, I don't do specialty restaurants either. I've already paid for my meals, which are quite good by the way, so why would I pay for them again?

Great room tour. No Celebrity out of Galveston - I live 45 minutes from the port. I would like this room if I were sailing solo. When we sail as an extended family group we get a bunch of adjacent staterooms (as many as 4 or 5) and open the dividers between them. We are those neighbors who may be talking on the balcony near yours 😅 since we spend a lot of time there.
If my neighbors smoke on the balcony we are calling to complain immediately. Severe allergies, mild asthma.

Great review, as always 😊. I was recently on Solstice in a Sky Suite. We weren’t given a choice to not have turndown service and we did get towel animals once. Also, room service was complimentary. I’m thinking it was because we were in a suite. I did ask the butler if there was a charge for room service as other lines were going that way. He assured us it was still complimentary.

We usually book inside but have had a couple of traditional balcony cabins as well. Your points are well taken and pretty funny. I am not certain if they will allow you to bring a kettle onboard because of the heating element, but if you ask your room steward, they may be able to arrange one for you. Good question. I know that when many of these ships move to Europe for summer cruises, they do put kettles in the staterooms. boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2718268-are-kettles-allowed/

So glad for the bathroom night light. You know us "over 60" travelers DO need to make overnight bathroom trips. Still annoyed that these cabins fail to put electrical outlets on both sides of the bed for us couples who both sleep with CPAP machines, but we have a cruise-approved multi-outlet box that allows us to plug both machines into one outlet. 🙂

We're about to go on a B2B Summit cruise (Aquaclass) at end of month. Yes, they offer a "green" option to go to a single cabin service per day instead of 2 and you get 1 Captain's Club point per night if you choose that "green" option. Same offer for our Europe cruises on Apex last year in Europe (Aquaclass and Concierge). We don't think it's worthwile because we enjoy our shower after an excursion or Sea Day and we like to have our washroom (we're Canadian) cleaned and towels replaced in the evening. We've learned that we don't really like the Infinite window.... ...personal choice tho... ...and I'm an Engineer, but an Electrical ....lol ...but I despise smelling weed on any balcony...

Our cruise on the Equinox Sept/23, we had a couple next to us who maybe (?) did the nasty on their balcony as in the morning there was a pair of panties on our balcony half under the partition…yikes…I pushed them all the way over with my foot, and they quickly disappeared. On the silhouette Jan /24, the couple next door arrived out on the balcony around the same time we did each day in the late afternoon, after pool time. One of us would be showering and getting ready to go for a cocktail, while the other sat on the balcony. Without fail each day, they came out and rearranged their chairs and table incessantly. And spoke loudly the whole time…not sure what was happening. After day three we would loudly say to each other”it’s renovation time”. It’s not like they were trying to get the sun, as it was on the other side of the ship. Looking forward to trying out the IV on the Beyond soon, hopefully a little more private!

We just left the Beyond on a B to B . We are Elite level .our infinite balcony window fell apart in a rough passing , screws on the floor , lost use of it for half a day , when it did come down , you look thro 2 levels of dirty glass , it's irritating. And when they wash that area of the ship they lock your WIndow down closed . We sooo prefer a real balcony . The beyond is a beautiful ship , but our Panama cruise was crowded , you needed to be at the theater 45min early to get a seat , they reserve the most of the balcony for Retreat , and they don't show up , meals had line up, Studio 5 is great space but has terrible seating , it is limited , and people come in and stand at the balcony glass , blocking your vision . Much seating is stools with no backs . No good for seniors . We love celebrity. But are booking on a smaller ship in the fall .these are cons ,there are many pros. The embarkation was the best in the industry and .wonderful staff always , food amazing , but relatively on long cruises.

    1. Most importantly, yes. I take naps. We did not stay in an infinite balcony room. Like your previous cruise, we had a Sky Suite and will now only travel that way. As you stated, the Retreat experience is just that much more incredible. 50% bigger room, Luminae, etc. But....we bring our daughter and she stays in a solo cabin, which does have the infinite balcony. She loved it. It gave her more room. A regular balcony is nice, but does not add to the square footage.

Sailed Beyond last summer in Mediterranean and really disliked the infinite veranda. It’s a window not a balcony of that there is no doubt. It’s awful at night because the room is set up for sleeping and if you want to get some air it means opening the noisy window and blind and once that happens the ac is switched off. While on days when the windows are being cleaned, the window is locked centrally from the bridge so you can just look out and that might be while in port and for several hours. I sailed in a suite on Edge this year with a proper balcony and there is no comparison. I’ll never sail in an infinite veranda again, ever. My next Edge class cruise is on Edge in early 2025 and in a sunset veranda with a regular balcony. Until then it’s S class only or if the price fits a suite on an Edge class. Really great review btw, only just discovered your channel. Best of luck and keep up the great work.

I sailed on the Edge in May of 2022 to Greece and Italy...the ship is beautiful but the infinite Veranda stateroom is horrible...All it is, A sunroom with a window that opens. I prefer a classic veranda where you can walk out on. I refuse to sail on a Edge class ship until one is built with classic verandas, not infinite verandas. And no, we don't sail in the Caribbean anymore, We are sailing in Europe so soaking up the sun is not our thing, we like the classic veranda to sit outside and watch the sunrise or sunset.

Allow me to clarify the room-service situation. Orders for continental breakfasts are STILL complimentary. The $9.95 charge applies to orders with hot food items such as eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, etc. Also, there is an additional smaller fee of around $6 or so for room service between the hours of 11pm and 5am (even for a continental breakfast), which is not new; it's been in place for a long time. Of course, passengers occupying suites get totally complimentary room service around the clock with no extra fees.

It’s not what we would call a verandah either but then we tend to use verandah and porch interchangeably with a balcony being a verandah or porch that’s not on the ground floor. And this being mosquito country, any of these could be screened 😅😅😅. Come to think of it, we would probably call the “infinite verandah” a sun room. I do not have noise issue with the door because the ships I go on have normal sliding doors. I am going to try Celeberty but will sail another class than there new ships. Same with NCL -- a lot of issues with their new ships.

The Edge class ships are beautiful, but the infinite cabins are awful! I like a balcony not a “wonna” be balcony! It’s an Oceanview stateroom BUT you are still paying for the more expensive balcony stateroom. I also feel the cabin is narrower. The infinite balcony is NO replacement for a “real” balcony cabin! The ship was great and beautiful, the cabin NO!

Why do you call it "infinite balcony"? Nowhere on Celebrity Cruises website have I seen the word "balcony" in the "infinite veranda" description. Calling the infinite veranda a "balcony" is inaccurate and unfair in my opinion.

I think I have a habit of using the two interchangeably.

Don't be an ass Jonnie. People of all ages and sizes use c paps. Please don't judge and mock people with a serious condition like sleep apnea.
