FYI The propain link does not work for me.
Hi sir can you give me a Santa Cruz bike please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 because that's my dream and favorite bike in all time I don't have money to buy it 😔😭🙏🙏🙏 please 🙏 thanks again 😔🥰🥰I'm from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 sir please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Have you demoed the Forbidden Druid" high pivot ' looks awesome !! 👍👌🚵🌲🌲🌲🚵🌲 Loved the comparison of the direct & bike shop ! Between the two bike manufacturer's 👍
I really enjoy your videos man! Keep up the good work.
Manufacturer support and serviceability is huge and needs to be considered when buying a high end bike like these. Santa Cruz has the support down, they’re awesome and take care of their customers. Also, there are lots of dealers around so if you need service you can usually get to a local bike shop. Love my new Tallboy!!
Nice review as usual. Have you thought about reviewing the new Evil The Following V3 yet?
Waiting on your review of the Revel Ranger
Would be great if you could do such a video on the Bronson vs Tyee 27.5"
Jason, totally agree with you on the Tallboy's "deep feeling". It feels like it's more than 120mm of travel, it's strange because the Hightower doesn't give me that feeling. One thing I would also say is the warranty on a Santa Cruz bike is beyond phenomenal! One of these days I'll have to tell you a little story of my first hand experience with them. I know they have this mystique about their warranty but I can totally say its true.
Thanks for weighing in!!
Great video. Thought u stopped uploading for a minute and was looking for the videos!
More to come!
Great info, always enjoy your reviews! Any chance you plan on riding the new Transition Sentinel? Would be cool to hear your thoughts on it.
Great comparison! I really like these newer geometry short/mid travel trail bikes. I have yet to ride anything on the new Tallboy that i felt under gunned compared to a OG Hightower (or similar travel) bike.
I think a direct to consumer bike could make sense for a lot of folks who are comfortable doing their own wrenching. I personally can do most of the wrenching, however I really like the folks in the LBS's around here and it is worth it to me to support them.
Nice to watch a local guy give honest reviews.
Thank you!!
Thanks for this comparison, much appreciated. I wish propain would offer a shimano build as well. What's the weight difference in this spec?
Super helpful. Appreciate the real world comparison.
definitely most relevant bike reviews on interwebs....right on with pink bike and bike mag
🙏
Hi, Propain Tyee CF 29 test please!
Great video again. I’ve just bought the new updated Hugene. It looks like it’s had some great updates, like the geometry. It’s also now 140/140
How do you like the bike so far? Any comparisons in how the suspension feels climbing and descending? Sprightly or Calm? Poppy or planted?
@@leejohnh22 I’m afraid it hasn’t arrived yet I’m on a waiting list. I’ll let you know 👍
@@jonundercover Hi, I’m wondering if you got your bike after a year and what’s your experience? ☺️
I bought my son and I Commencal bikes this spring. The value for money is second to none. But we are fortunate enough to live 40 mins away from their Canadian "show room". So I could try the bikes for size etc. Maybe that's the best of both worlds??
Review the Fezzari la sal peak! Fezzari is a direct to consumer band based here in Utah.
An SB115 video would be great to see if you can get your hands on one.
I wonder how much of the ride difference is shocks? X2 can be way less poppy (depending on spacers) than smaller can shocks. My Hightower really changed when I went x2.
My only concern with direct-to-consumer bikes are fitting. I bought a Commencal Meta HT and it was absolutely great. But the sizing barely fit me and I should've sized down. I'd definitely do direct-to-consumer again, but I at least need a means to demo it locally to be certain of the fit.
But I built a Ripmo 💪 Best bike ever!!! 💪
I do really like the Propain, but I already have my eyes on the new SB115.
Really enjoyed your video between the two bikes, but would love you to Review 2 bikes that are getting rave reviews ' The Transition sentinel V2 & Forbidden Druid !!!! 👍👌🤙🚵🌲🌲🚵🌲🌲🌲🤞
Nice comparison. These days it’s a great idea to support your LBS. hard to beat a Santa Cruz though!
My experience is that I almost always buy better in the shop ( dealer of Trust ), of course I not only include the purchase of the bike here, but also the service afterwards, or if something is Borken or Little things then someone is there immediately and helps me it usually costs nothing or only a fraction , of course you get more bike for less money with onlineshops companies, but I have to say that I always got a discount when buying a bike in the shop and the difference was only minimal to the online one.
Cant wait for you to try 2020 specialized enduro thanks😀👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nice. Warranty is another factor to consider. Santa Cruz has lifetime warranty on their frames, while Propain only has 3 years for aluminum and 5 years carbon.
Good point. but I think most people don't usually hang onto their bike much longer then 3-4 yrs before selling and upgrading.
You need to ride the new Transition Spark! Looks like a contender fo sho!
Amigo Yumyum would you make a Review of Commencal Tr 29 and tell us a how to feel ..✌🏻
Basically, do you want the better made more thought out frame or Kashima...
can you share what trail you taped this video on? That's a rad lookin area
I really appreciate the side by side comparison. Have you done a side by side comparison of Shimano to SRAM brakes? With all of the bikes you've ridden, you probably have some deep insight into the pros and cons of each. I'd love to hear what you have to say about them.
After all the many bikes I've ridden, I prefer Shimano drivetrain and brakes although I'm happy to ride either one. When I build a bike of my own, it gets Shimano bits.
@@mtbyumyum Thanks for the input, Jason. Your channel was the first MTB channel I subscribed to. I came across it as I was researching the purchase of my first full-suspension bike. I feel like I know the fun sections of Jacob's Ladder like I know my local trails.
Propain is the best MTB maker now rising❤
With the fox fork you got 150mm not 1400
Have you upforked the Ripley to 140 yet?
ich hatte das selbe Problem es hat mir extrem geholfen mir ein neuen Steuersatz gekauft habe und das ligt nicht an propain weil ich das bei yt tues auch hatte
Bottom outs on any bike can be addressed. Smb however is a whole other topic. If a bike scares me on the down or i feel unstable. Game over. My saftey outweighs any performance option.
What do you mean by smb?
Hi, Propain Tyee CF 2020 PLS
hi you got video on Santa Cruz Nomad 2021?
Excellent comparo
Hard to decide when SANTA CRUZ is in line
You still dont get it, the propain hugene has a Fox 150mm Fork 🙈
Jacobs is so Poppy and Composed
What size should a 5’11” guy get?
Excellent
Thanks
How about a Ripley and Tallboy Comparison?
Would love to line that up!
I had the wrong year bike. My bad!
the tallboy does NOT have a slacker head tube angle than the Hugene? There is nothing "more modern" about the Tallboy's geo that would make it have you sit "in" as apposed to "over" on the Hugene??? And looks like a 36 on your Hugene which seems like that would be the 150mm fork build so you should have had a slacker HTA and ALSO a steeper STA? Yet your saying the 120/130 bike was better on the descent? That's weird...?
2019 Hugene hta 67 degrees sta 74.5 degrees.... not sure what you're talking about?
@@mtbyumyum WELL.... egg on my face. I did not notice it was the older bike... I did not think they brought the older Hugene to the US. I thought the US Hugene sales were the updated frame. Sorry... I stand corrected.
Mail order: You save a good deal of money.
Bike shop: You can throw the bike on your car and drive it to the shop if there are any issues.
tyee test pls
How do these bikes compare to your Revel Rascal?
very similar actually!!
@@mtbyumyum Thanks for the reply. There seems to be in interesting convergence in bike categories right now. You have a recent crop of short travel 29'ers (Tallboy, Ripley, new Spur?) that are becoming all the more capable on the descents and then you have trail focused longer-travel 29'ers on the other end with climbing capabilities that were once typically attributed to the ST bikes. Even geometry is shared b/w the two groups. Bikes like Rascal seems to sit right in between both categories. I guess it's a great problem to have and will probably come down to saddle time to figure out what suits the rider best.
That Hugene looks like the "High End" version, that sells for $7,299.
High end has AXS components and XX1 crankset. Also a better wheelset. I would say it is more a performance version with fox suspension and the price difference between the suspension stuff should be minimal.
You going to do the new 5010?
yes, just a matter of getting one for a couple days
@@mtbyumyum sweet. Trying to decide between that the ripmo, the MOJO, and the sb130.
The man's sitting on the tallboy at the end of the vid. HIs decision's made.
Haha thats just because the saddle dropped lower so it was easier to chill on for a bit when I filmed this lol
him: you cant go wrong with buying eather one!
me: of cource i can. with the amount of money santa cruz coasts i could buy propain bikes for my whole family xD
haha good point... and they make excellent bikes!!
To be perfectly honest, the answer to the question "Tallboy or Hugene?" is probably Norco Optic.
touche!
lol
Fezzari = direct to consumer - plus return policy - plus built in your back yard, cmon man!
plus lifetime frame
I think the Tallboy is sluggish at climbing tbh
it's good for fitness and health until you fall and hurt yourself O_o 🙈
Geez, what a lot of waffle about nothing. Is there a there a 30 day return on the 10 minutes I wasted?
