None of the other people Jake has fought can command even a fraction of the same “respect” from the general public..even Silva (who is arguably one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time). Silva could walk into a mall and only other UFC “bros” are going to recognize him. Meanwhile Mike is gonna get flocked by people who never even watched his fights live. Sure Jake has a “puncher’s chance” but it’s about the same chance as an ice cube has in hell even at Mike’s age. People forget that Mike was the youngest heavyweight champion in history and how incredible his head movement was. So even if he’s 75% of his peak he’s still 250% ahead of where Jake is at now. I got respect for Jake though, it takes real grit to get in the ring and bang it out. I grew up boxing and anyone who laces up the mitts deserves at least some respect.

None of the other people Jake has fought can command even a fraction of the same “respect” from the general public..even Silva (who is arguably one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time). Silva could walk into a mall and only other UFC “bros” are going to recognize him. Meanwhile Mike is gonna get flocked by people who never even watched his fights live. Sure Jake has a “puncher’s chance” but it’s about the same chance as an ice cube has in hell even at Mike’s age. People forget that Mike was the youngest heavyweight champion in history and how incredible his head movement was. So even if he’s 75% of his peak he’s still 250% ahead of where Jake is at now. I got respect for Jake though, it takes real grit to get in the ring and bang it out. I grew up boxing and anyone who laces up the mitts deserves at least some respect.
