Predicting The Future, Dublin City, Ireland 1979

  • What will the world be like in twenty years time? People on the streets of Dublin look ahead.
On the eve of a new decade Dubliners describing how they see the world in twenty years.
We leave you with your own view of what’s going to happen in the next twenty years.
Space travel, technology, robots, computers, work patterns and war are all subjects which feature strongly in people’s vision for the future.
I would hope that we’ll all have our feet still firmly planted on the ground. It’s all in God’s hands of course.
It’ll be all space age cars.
I don’t think there’ll be all that many changes in twenty years’ time.
There’ll be a lot more unemployment and there’ll be a lot more violence.
For the youth of this world, I think they should get together and say no more war.
‘Year In’ was broadcast on 31 December 1979. The presenter is Pat Kenny.

There are many many well to do / rich people who take ( illegal drugs ).
They certainly aren’t at the bottom of the heap .
The ordinary working class ( those who are living from paycheck to paycheck ) also turn to drugs , whether It’s over the counter, illegal or alcohol to deal with life.
Doing this merely acts as a short term fix .
The working class would be better off becoming politically educated and know and take action to improve life for everyone.
The majority of politicians have thrown in their lot with the elites and will only do the bare minimum for the workers.
The workers need to understand that they are used by the politicians , the illegal drug dealers ,
big pharma etc and the only way to
overcome this is for each person to educate theirselves on what is really happening .

however it’s the underlying conditions that causes physical and mental illness that need to be

When drugs both legal and illegal or alcohol are used to suppress symptoms , it inevitably leads to a need of consume more of these medications and in turn this leads to addiction .
