Sometimes I feel that when a smart city is promised...it might just be possible.... but then when I see my neighbor throwing his trash into our garden thinking no one is watching , then red spits everywhere or lime smeared on every wall or guys pissing on every available space ..... But i see is lack of infrastructure for supporting those missions. 1.People still doesn't use dustbin and blame govt. 2.Cows, dogs and goats are blocking roads still there's no effective action. 3. people don't support govt actions, removing roadside shops, illegal construction. 4. SOME CITIES AND TOWNS CAN BE PLANNED. BUT THEY DON'T. But still after bjp i see lot of changes, clean and wide roads, removing illegal vendors. now my town looks good. Coming from an Urban Planning profession, your points were correct regarding a city being built from Scratch which is 80 km away from a big city, it won't grow as planned. If Dholera was built somewhere outskirts of Ahmedabad or Surat just like New Dubai was built near Old Dubai and New Cairo is being built just outskirts of old Cairo, it would have a possibility to build it as it was dreamed.

I even argued with my father after watching Vivek Bindra's video to take a plot of 15 lakh that it will be a future investment and its value will appreciate especially seeing in the video how developed it is going to be and even if we don't live in there in future we can still get rent as to its good prospective project. Coming from an Urban Planning profession, your points were correct regarding a city being built from Scratch which is 80 km away from a big city, it won't grow as planned. If Dholera was built somewhere outskirts of Ahmedabad or Surat just like New Dubai was built near Old Dubai and New Cairo is being built just outskirts of old Cairo, it would have a possibility to build it as it was dreamed.

I even argued with my father after watching Vivek Bindra's video to take a plot of 15 lakh that it will be a future investment and its value will appreciate especially seeing in the video how developed it is going to be and even if we don't live in there in future we can still get rent as to its good prospective project. He said there are a lot of problems managing the property from far and when we don't even know when and how it will be made and at that time I was thinking if he is not going to invest he is losing the next 'big thing ' as projected by them. Lesson learned never invest in government projects promoted by these hyped businessmen.
