- Cher and their friends finally want to get their driving licences. But to pass the DMV test, they have to practice, practice, and practice. Cher's father takes over the first lesson. But it ends up with a damaged stop sign and a very angry dad. From now on Cher fears to drive again. Only her stepbrother Josh succeeds to solve Cher's mental blockade.
I love that this show was based in Beverly Hills and had three black leads not mixed race or ethnically ambiguous. Go 90s.

My all time favorite episode.
Before I turned 21 I watched this episode because I didn’t have my permit yet.. and I felt like Cher did and I’m like Cher tbh but not spoiled and clueless lol 😂💖 but.. I was praying to God that I get my permit tomorrow that day and so the next morning... I passed and I’m a official Volkswagen Beetle owner today 💛 I’m still learning to drive, but every-time I watch this episode it makes me confident because I didn’t give up! 💛😌

All it takes is just time, coordination, concentration, & practice, just like ALL tasks. It took my 6 months to train in driving, but I got my license on my very 1st try -- all thanks to my examiner who decided to give me a 2nd shot @ the parallel parking. He was a pretty cool, fair guy.

From what I've seen so far of the series, they nod to the film but seem to be seperate. Characters are different, like Tai is completely different, Amber seems to be a lot closer with Cher & Dion at times (they still insult each other but there are eps where they act like friends) Cher dates a string of highschool boys which she'd never do in the film and doesn't seem to meddle in peoples love lifes. So I think the show is more of a reboot rather than a continuation. Just my observation though :) I've only watched up to this ep!
yes, cher drives in the movie. because she has a learner's permit. then, when she tries to get her driver's licence, she fails. but anyway, the tv show is not a sequel to the movie.
