Hi! We're Will and James! After meeting in 2014, we knew it was love at first sight. Our very first trip together was to New York City where we learned very quickly, that if we travel together we can do anything. Our love has continued to grow and so has our sense of adventure leading us to places all over the world. We document our travels to share with you, hoping to inspire you to grab someone you love and travel the world. Recently, we competed on the 32nd season of The Amazing Race where we not only won the grand prize but got engaged at the finish line, the first gay/LGBT proposal in the show's 20-year history. Join us on all of our adventures!

I appreciate how James speaks truthfully his feelings as a viewer of these alliances this season, knowing how his season transpired.

I really love your recaps/discussions with past racers. I know it's a ton of work but any chance you can cover the next season of Amazing Race Canada?

So I watched Danny & Angie's podcast before this and they cleared up a few things y'all mentioned.
    1) Danny & Angie actually made it to the mat 3rd but stopped before jumping on the mat because they felt like Amber & Vinny deserved 3rd more for helping them, but Rod & Leticia jumped on before all of them. So technically Angie & Danny beat all of them in a footrace.
    2) all the teams had a 2 hour tech break after the car detour and within that 2 hours, the grandparents never showed up. Apparently they were so far behind that if Angie & Danny took the penalty they most likely would've survived.
    3) apparently the girls all passed them on their way to second roadblock because a different team in the alliance wanted to navigate and ended up getting lost because someone other than Danny navigated.
    4) Also, to answer the question about the yellow team, they said in post game press that because they were so far behind, they never even knew about the second detour and were told to head directly to the pitstop. They did say they would've loved to do Who Did It.
    5) Danny said he knew from watching season 34 that the release groups would be 2-2-3 for the following keg and were hoping them & A&V could've been 3&4 but R&L threw a wrench in their plan.
I also loved this episode! I completely agree that the roadblock rule should be implemented that once you get your clue, leave.

the penalty for road block is 4 hours so I don't think Angie and Danny will survive, especially taking the penalty meant that the others won't be able to help them in the meat task

    Great recap! Love y'all's takes!
As you mentioned, I'm a bit concerned about Danny and Angie next leg because, while they were a part of the three-team-alliance, they got the raw end of the deal by leaving with the last group next leg.
Are there any teams so far that you think would have not been eliminated if they didn't have the staggered start format?

I'd prefer Sunny & Bizzy and Yvonne & Melissa over the 3 teams alliance any day every day

I don’t mind the alliances. I think it’s entertaining to see how they form and eventually break up. This leg reminded me of the 6-pack alliance in S10. Three teams were tightly knit around this point in the race and they eventually separated with only one making it to the finale.

I love the alliance. If you can use each other's strengths to collectively get further, why not? Although, seeing how emotional Amber got over leaving Angie, I wonder how it would play out if they end up being the bottom 3 teams..

If you saw our season, we clearly don’t have an issue with alliances. But I do think three teams running a leg together was a bit much. But to each their own.

@@Estevichit’s one thing to lean and rely on an alliance for strengths you might lack, but to run an entire leg as a team of six, was a bit much.

I was very worried about Angie and to be blunt this was a detour that Danny should have done. Also, Danny seemed more concerned about completing the race versus taking care of his mother who probably suffered heat stroke or exhaustion. To compound my disappointment Danny allowed his exhausted and weakened mother to compete in a soccer detour where she was pushed down and appeared injured. I got a "Norman Bates" vibe from Danny and think he just wants the race winnings more than looking out for his much older mom!
