The prequel series and the original series show why, to this day, that Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader is one of the most well written characters ever to come to life on the cinema.
Deffo mate
@@SofaandChill If there was a word that could define Anakin, it would probably be tragedy. His entire life, those closest to him died, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. The Jedi who set him free, the only Jedi who believed in him and gave him hope in his dreams being realized, was slain by Darth Maul. His mother, the only person who gave him love and comfort as a slave, was tortured to death after he promised he would come back and free her. I won't spoil anything for the Clone Wars if you watch it, but you see many reasons why Anakin grew to hate the Jedi Council.
When Anakin was first introduced, one of the wishes he expresses of being a Jedi was coming to places like Tatooine and freeing the slaves. During his training as a Jedi, whom he idolized as heroes, he sees over time they're not the heroes he had believed them to be. He was called the Hero of the Republic because along with winning almost every battle he fought in, he refused to leave people behind to die, be it clone troopers caught in a crossfire or slaves in a droid factory that was going to be bombed by Republic cruisers. Letting people die is something he couldn't do.
Now he has a vision that his wife, the person he adores and cherishes the most in the galaxy, is going to die. He can't go to the Jedi for help because love is forbidden by the Jedi. Palpatine preyed on this because for years he had been portraying himself as Anakin's friend, being everything to him that the Jedi could not. He purposefully lost the duel with Mace because he sensed Anakin was coming and he needed to make it look like the Jedi had betrayed the Republic by attempting to assassinate him rather than arrest.
Something a lot of people don't notice is how Palpatine, the Dark Lord of the Sith, stood in the presence of several Jedi Council members, who were the most powerful of the Jedi Order, and they couldn't sense the Dark Side within him. He could hide it like a mask. When Anakin seems to be in a trance when pledging himself to Palpatine, it's because Palpatine had "taken the mask off" and was letting Anakin sense how powerful he was. Jedi limited their power, while the Sith sought to expand it. And Anakin was sensing power unlike anything he had sensed before, not with any Jedi, not with Maul, not with Dooku. The power seduced him by casting off the restraints of the Jedi and allowing him to truly be a master over his own destiny, even conquer Death itself. But in the end, he only became a slave to Palpatine.
@@patrioticjustice9040 Great comment as always mate. Such a good understanding of the movies and really helps with my limited understanding of things. Thanks for watching the premiere mate

@@SofaandChill its really worth a watch, wont tell anything tho. The story and animation of the last season + the bad batch are crazyyy deff worth a watch :). There are also good episodes in the other seasons of the CW series though
@@SofaandChill make sure u watch it chronologically
No. Originally they were clone soldiers genetically modified to be absolutely obedient and to follow orders without question, The Clone Wars retconned that by spinning some unnecessary dumb inhibitor chip bullshit. It directly recontextualizes one of the biggest plot points in the whole saga, and this wouldn't be an issue if it was necessary, but it wasn't, we had a perfectly logical explanation for it already. Some other EU fans thinks it ruins Order 66, I wouldn't go that far myself, but the scene definitely has different emotion to it. It all pertains to personal preference and which one you think is more tragic: soldiers with a doglike loyalty to the republic being forced to voluntarily gun down their generals, or soldiers who's struggle in the war has been trying to stand out and discover their individuality and independent thinking, being turned to mindless emotionless droids in an instant and involuntarily gunning down their generals through mind control.
I love your innocent reaction to "execute order 66" you had no idea 🤣
I'm still heart broken 😳
@@SofaandChill also when you saw Anakin walk in to the younglings and ignite his lightsaber, just staring into the camera speechless lmao
Cool note: Anakin vs Obi-Wan was actually Hayden and Ewan dueling, no cgi or stunt double used for most of it
Amazing choreography between them both. Such a great and heartbreaking scene mate
@@SofaandChill it’s also shown at actual speed, no editing involved. Those two literally became so good at the choreography that they were moving incredibly fast the crew was astounded while filming
The ending gives me chills every time. From Padmés funeral to the deathstar scene and then the montage of luke and Leia finding their new homes
Absolutely mate...
Unforgettable scenes
I still think Vader killed Padme by siphoning her life to survive himself. With all the tech they had there is no way she would just die like that. Even unconscious people can live and she was awake, there was Force in play. When Vader was choking her he turned their bond to the dark side and then he clung to life with all he had... and all Padme had too.
@@Matej_Sojka There is also the theorie Palpatine used a sith ritual to save his life, but someone has to die as sacrifice. (And it also explains why he knews Padmé is dead)
I read someone else's thoughts that poor Anakin has NEVER not called someone master his entire life:
1.He was a slave as a child.
2.He called Obiwan his master after that
3.He called Palpatine master
4.And in between, he was a slave to the suit and self-hatred that kept him alive but also encased him in a tomb of torment until the day he died.
He's truly a tragic character only freed and redeemed by the son he never knew who believed in him against all odds.
Hell, after you watch 1-3, the even the audience feels he's irredeemable. As a kid in 1983, it never once occurred to me that Vader would save Luke. I just thought Luke would figure something out or be killed in the Death Star attack.
Yeah, such a sad life for him. Why didn't the Jedi council just go and pay off his mothers dept? If they could sense so much ability and power in him then surely keeping him happy would be a top priority lol

@@SofaandChill Palpatine was right in that the Jedi were stuck in their dogmas of attachment, I think they didn't really know what to do with Anakin. He embodies the Force, was conceived by it even, a power of life, but told keep chaste, to not fall in love, turned into a priest when he should've been a king.
Each prequel movie has a key death that seals anakin’s fate to becoming darth vader. The death of qui-gon was so important because he would have been the father figure anakin needed. Obi wan tried his best, but just couldnt fulfill that role. Then his mothers death fueled feelings of betrayal, rage, and mistrust towards the jedi counsel for not being allowed to visit her. Finally, Padme’s death leaves him with never ending feelings of guilt and hatred towards himself. Now it is time to watch the clone wars series and view the war from a new perspective: the clones. Great reaction as always!

Couple cool facts about the two big fights. Sidious was low key scared to fight yoda in a saber battle because he knew yoda was a super duelist but lacked in comparison to him with the force. That’s why you see him try to use the force a lot to keep him back. Then in obi wan vs anakin, anakin was way better then obi was with the force and the saber but his judgement was so clouded obi wan was playing 4d chess in their fight while anakin was playing checkers. Obi wan trained anakin he knew mostly what he would do
I don't know about 'way better than Obi-Wan'. Konobi has a pretty strong resume fighting/dueling Sith. Defeated Maul several time and Maul and Savage together. He Defeated Vader/Anikan in ep3 and had battled Vadar to a draw in ep4 until sacrificing himself to save look. He defeated Grievous (not a Sith but trained by Dooku and had killed mult. Jedi). Obi-Wan is the most accomplished Jedi in his lifetime in terms of lightsaber combat.
@@mikestevens917 I do think my statement of way better is pushing it but I do believe he was better just not accustomed to his new powers. In terms of raw power and ability anakin was better but obi wan is extremely smart and knew how to use anakin rashness against him
Way better is pushing it but he was indeed better just not as much as he imagined to be . He kept doing reckless moves after reckless moves and against a master strategist like obi wan he was going to pay it sooner or later . If went in the duel with the mindset of the vader in episode 4 he would've won eventually .
'Is Anakin alright?'.... 'no he's not love' 😂😂😂 In stitches

“Only a Sith deals in absolutes”
But that’s an absolute, Obi-Wan a Sith confirmed, lol.
Lmao 😂
He was having a bad day, be nice to poor Obi 😂😅
Darth Kenobius.
It’s not
This makes you think than jedi were blind cause their jedi code and philosophy of living.
Blocking emotions, no attachments to others, no violence and being constantly meditating could make you cold sometimes thinking than your are rigth about everything.
Many jedi didnt read others emotions using empathy or problems cause those were strange for them. Its weird being a jedi and actually i support anakin methods after you read about his life
Palpatine at the beginning of the movie: (about Dooku) He was too dangerous to be left alive.
Windu: (about Palpatine) He’s too dangerous to be left alive!
It’s a small thing, but I do love that it helps highlight to Anakin that the Jedi and Sith are not so different (to him, not us obviously), and why not go with the one that promises to save your wife?
Great point my friend. Also the Jedi could have offered to go and save Anakins mother at any time but left her...
@@SofaandChill There was a theory that dooku was gonna kill palpatine when the time was right. You see, dooku was an ex Jedi and he only left because the Jedi were arrogant and hypocritical, when he joined the Sith you could clearly see that he didn't have Sith eyes once. Qui gon jinn was Dooku's old Jedi Padawan, and when qui gon died, it pushed dooku to leave the Jedi order. Dooku deep down was still somewhat a good person, better than Anakin after his turn that's for sure. I think palpatine realised that dooku was too dangerous to be left alive because dooku is a direct threat towards palpatine's plans. In the end dooku died a gruesome death which he did not deserve.
@@user-xr3ul2xc1l i think making anakin kill dooku was necessary to palpatines plan, i dont believe that sidious entirely knew of dookus plan, but it was important that anakin kill him because it wouldve made anakin even closer to the dark side than he already was
@Bully Maguire That too, but I do believe that palpating knew that dooku would try to kill him sooner or later

fun fact about the final duel, it was barely edited at all and was the result of sheer practice. they got so good at the movements that they had to slow some parts down in post production because they were going too fast for the cameras
Wow I didn't know that mate, thank you so much for the comment. Awesome stuff
Star wars episode 3 is literally one of the few movies where the villain actually wins
Becoming Darth Vader was NOT a win for Anakin.
@@B-a-t-m-a-n the villain is Palpatine, who brought Anakin to the Dark Side? Palpatine.
Who started Order 66? Palpatine.
Who created a Galatic Empire? Palpatine.
Man Palpatine is the real Villain for Revenge of the Sith, not Anakin
@@Gabrielol67 I see Palpatine as the real villain for the whole series! I always recommend to new viewers that they watch Episode 6 after Episode 3. Let me explain, and I think you might agree. After watching Episodes 4 and 5, we really have very little idea of what kind of power Palpatine wields. We don't know how he manipulated Anakin and cost him everything that was important to him. We just see him again in ROTJ, where he briefly cooks Luke with Force lightning before he "dies." If you watch 1-3 first, you can see all of the manipulations and get an idea of what happens when you get hit with Force lightning. The viewer would freak when Luke throws away his saber, knowing that is his only defense against Force lightning, and also, we saw Mace get whacked in that manner. You'd really wonder if Luke was going to fall to the temptation of the dark side as Anakin did. You've already seen how he lied to Anakin in 1-3. When he gets his payback in ROTJ, we are EXTRA glad that SOB is dead. And finally, we get to see Anakin at the end of the movie, which with that final change, now makes sense to the casual viewer.
@@B-a-t-m-a-n ok
@@Gabrielol67 Great reply, thanks.
Years later and the opening space battle still holds up really well in terms of CGI.
Yeah absolutely mate :)
A lot of people seem to think "we don't know why, she had lost the will to live" is lazy writing. I disagree. No one outside of Sidious and Plageuis knows this power to bend mediclorians to shape the living force is possible. The droid could not explain what was happening because no one could. It doesn't slap viewers over the head with exposition.
Anakin didn't "kill" Padme. Sidious did. Through his work with Plagueis they developed a way to manipulate the mediclorians to prevent death. Plageuis was adept enough to eventually fix himself partially. Sidious needed to take the life force from Padme to keep Vader alive. Which is a big part of why Obi Wan leaves, he senses there is nothing that could be done to save Anakin after he catches fire because he does not know the power to save a life is possible through the force.
The Clone Wars is a fantastic look at how exactly Sidious plays both sides of the war almost perfectly. You should absolutely check it out, even if you don't have the time to react to it.
My interpretation is this:
If the Force surrounds and binds us, then it's reasonable to assume we can't live without that connection. I think Anakin, in his anger, completely severed Padme's connection to the force, and that's why she died. But a medical droid would probably explain it as "lost the will to live".
i've watched this one time trying to see it entirely from Anakin's point of view and pretending i dont know what the audience knows but only Ani.
It's a masterpiece of manipulation. He's only had one real friend since he was a child: Palpatine. The Jedi have simply been training and disciplining him all this time.
And when he walks in on Windu and Palpatine's fight, all Anakin sees is Mace standing over Palpatine. And Palpatine already planted the seed in his head that the Jedi are trying to overthrow him.
Add that to the fact that Anakin killed unarmed Dooku and knew it was wrong. THEN, he hears Windu say he's going to kill an unarmed old man...when anakin KNOWS this killing is wrong.
From his point of view, the Jedi are clearly hypocrites, killing whoever they want, but telling HIM to not.
If I was him, and the oppressive Jedi Council asked me to spy on a good friend and mentor, i'd feel suspicious, too. And if I was him, if i had to pick, I'd pick Palpatine. Palpatine has been encouraging, and helpful, appointing him to the Jedi council, taking him to the Opera. Palpatine has given him the good life.
On top of that....all this time, the Jedi have LET his mother languish in slavery. If I was him, EVERY time i saw an expensive painting or art or architecture in that Jedi Temple, I would think, cant they just sell that and buy my mom? It's been over 10 years! They could have helped her all this time. But. they did not.
Yeah that's a great point, when Ani first go in front of the Jedi council in episode 1, they mention they can feel he missed his mother. Yeah, why didn't they just go and get her?
Also padme. Padme was now dying in his visions, what should he do? Stick with council who merely tell him that attachments are forbidden, weird and to just let shit happen, OR to trust Palpatine the one telling him “Omg that’s terrible we can’t let that happen let me help you!”
He will never let what happened to his mother happened to Padme (premature/untimely death)
@@SofaandChill the Jedi aren't allowed to have attachments, it's a flawed system that led to their downfall. Theyre like monks.

unlike the other Jedi who were protrayed as Warmongers by de media,
he was a Hero for the Republic, thanks to his victories on the battlefield! 👌
he won more battles then any other Jedi, and that granted him the name The Hero with no Fear
Fun fact: This legendary movie still holds the world record for the longest sword fight in cinematic history 17 years later. around 12 minutes of uninterrupted fighting and it's fucking glorious
The story of Grievous is tragic. Poor guy had his whole species attacked by the jedi. Anyway, he wasnt always a cyborg. He collects the lightsabers of Jedi he's killed and he's killed ALOT. Hes featured in both the 2003 clone wars and the newer one. The 2003 one is much more powerful and I'd suggest watching it. But the other one is great too
I am definitely going to watch the clone wars mate, have heard great things about it
@@SofaandChill there is a difference between the 2003 clone wars and the 2008 THE clone wars

Not sure if you picked up on it but for Padmes funeral, they actually stuffed her stomach and told the public that the babies didn't survive to be born either to help hide Luke and Leias existence. So for years Vader assumed he had lost his child as well.

I know it's been months since you posted this but hopefully you get a chance to see this. One of your comments reminded me of an excellent quote by the showrunner of Clone Wars
Dave Filoni: "Our own ambitions can make the Force into something terrible even when our intentions might have been good. We do not always realize we are acting out of fear, or selfishness. Anakin believes he is trying to save his wife, he is afraid to lose her, he chooses to act out of his fears and try to control the situation. That moment of choice, how we act and react is so important. The choice between Dark and Light is often subtle...."

The prequels echo Yoda's quote "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate...leads to suffering". Episode 1 Yoda says he senses much fear in Anakin. Fear of losing/leaving his mother. Episode 2 that fear leads to anger when he finds his mother and she dies and he commits sand people genocide. Episode 3 that anger boils over into hate for the jedi and obi-wan. That hate obviously leads to suffering when he kills padme, obi-wan having to almost kill Anakin, and all that minor stuff in the original trilogy.
The clone wars series goes much more in depth into Anakin and shows how his greatest strength as a jedi was his compassion and capacity to care, and that was eventually pushed him to the dark side.
I'm going to start the clone wars mate, would you recommend watching it in chronological order
Most definitely the first season is obviously meant for kids but as time goes on it gets marketed to an older audience as well
I'm sure someones pointed it out but obi wan chopped off his remaining flesh arm aswel as the legs... so all his flesh limbs were gone except the prosthetic metal one
I didn't know that mate, I always thought he only had one prosthetic arm...thanks for that my friend 👍
It's funny you said that Vader should live by the lava because he would actually end up having a castle on Mustafar in the comics. You can see his castle for a moment in Rogue One and it also makes a cameo in Rebels I believe.
I know right? I guess I must have subconsciously known that was where he would end up!
I will have to go back and have a look!
The clones absolutely loved Aayla the Twi'lek Jedi they shot her so many times to ensure she died as quick a death as possible. Also any given day i think Anikan would of beat Obi'wan but he had been up probably for a couple days now and was obviously highly stressed and tired given the assault on the temple and then the assassination of the seperatist leaders and he still took it to Obi'wan and nearly beat him. however Obi had always been good about moving a fight to a location that gave him a advantage and took the almighty high ground.
Yeah that high ground was the killer. Anakin (when he is fighting Luke as Vader) says "Obi-Wan taught you well" when he took the high ground, made me smile lol
Anakin *was* winning their duel, he was bearing Obi Wan back for the whole duration of the fight. The only reason he lost was because he was impatient, arrogant and short-sighted in that particular moment and almost high on Dark Side power.
@@keighlancoe5933 he was your right but you have to take into account that the dark side was the only thing keeping him in fight and the severe emotional turmoil he was dealing with. and honestly who doesn't have obi'wan on his toes? it's literally his style of fighting. endure the onlsaught move the fight to a area that suits you and strike when you find a opening its Soresu 101.
@@keighlancoe5933 part of the lore is that’s how Obi-Wan fights, as well. He’s a master of Form III lightsaber combat, which is highly focused on a nigh-impenetrable defense. You essentially defend and defend and wait for your opponent to make a mistake, then you end the fight. Which is exactly what Obi-Wan did.
Even with that in mind, he nearly lost to Anakin. As others have said, any other day and Anakin would have beat him.
A year late but id like to add. Aayla trusted her clones so much, when they raised their weapons to kill her she looked around for a threat, never realizing they were targeting her.
Obi Wan believed that the chosen one would bring balance to the force.
He naively thought that meant destroying the sith...

Actually, the Clones are just as much victims as the Jedi are. When the clones are born, they have a biochip implanted in their brains that has Order 66 encoded on it. Once the order is activated, they quite literally have no choice by to enforce it. Out of the entire clone army, only a very small percentage were able to resist it to one degree or another (maybe about 0.05% were able to resist it). The Jedi knew of the biochip, but they were told that it simply made the clones more docile (they weren't told of the true purpose of the chip).
Order 66 branded the Jedi as traitors to the Republic and must be put down with extreme prejudice. And so, once the order was given, and the biochip activated, it caused the clones to view the Jedi as enemy combatants.
Jesus, no wonder it happened so quickly. Such a brutal scene, thanks for the comment my friend, its very much appreciated
@@SofaandChill I highly recommend you watch The Clone Wars series. It takes place between Episodes 2 and 3. You'll learn a lot more about the clones.
@@lokiodinson2326 Absolutely mate, really looking forward to it :)
The chip was just made up by Dave Filoni Revenge of the sith is based of the 2003 clone wars not the 2008 Dave Trash
Not only did the clones have a chip, but the reality is the clones NEVER actually reported to the Jedi. They always served the government... the senate and chancellor being their ultimate leadership. The Jedi may have also served the elected government, but they were not technically a part of it. They were essentially mercenaries... hired guns who were funded by the government, but held no official status or rank within the government.
And in truth, the Jedi WERE attempting to overthrow the chancellor. Windu's attempt to kill Palpatine rather than merely exposing his Sith nature to the senate, was NOT legal. Regardless of his Sith nature, the chancellor was still a duly elected official and the duly appointed chancellor.
The Jedi's attempt to kill Palpatine would be like a special forces unit deciding the US president was 'evil' and attempting to assassinate him. It's not up to them to play judge, jury and executioner. It would be up to the congress to legally remove him from power.
47:50 , exactly, I can’t imagine being a Star Wars fan growing up with the original trilogy and then seeing this in the theater in 2005, must’ve been an amazing experience. Honestly, I would trade a whole lot to be able to experience that, but I was too young at the time 😂😂
At the end when they were building Vader and Padme was dying the theater was completely quiet. No one was breathing. It was epic. You could have heard a pin drop in that packed theater.
Jesus yeah I bet, I would have been exactly the same lol
Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith is the only movie I watched twice in theaters an it was on the same day. I was 13 at the time, now I'm 31 an I'm glad I got to watch it at the cinema.
I bet Charles, I wish I had found Star Wars sooner and gone to the cinema to watch it, would have been awesome
26:54 i had the same reaction when i watched it years ago. Like "THATS HOW IT HAPPENED!?"
My head almost exploded!
Dude, he looked so heartbroken when Anakin ignited his lightsaber in front of the Kids.
Elijah, my heart almost exploded in my chest when he did that...
I love the end scene where as vader takes his first breath, padme takes her last
It’s just poetic
Yeah it's amazing the way they did that
I had this notion that Darth Plagueis kept the teeny tiny secret of truly saving others from death, to the grave. Because if Palgueis revealed "the way" to his disciple Palpatine, the war would have gone entirely in his favour. Luckily it did not happen. 🙂
Very luckily my friend
Thank you all so much for taking some time out on a Sunday and watching my premiere :)
Sad I missed it😕
I love this guy's insults "you absolute dirty burger"
Hahaha sometimes the only way to get your point across is to insult them in such a way that even the one giving the insult is unsure as to what it means :)
If you haven't you should watch The Clone Wars series and the film that is considered the first episode of the series. It will give you a whole different feeling towards the clones, and also give perspective in to the puppeteering from Palpatine. The last season is truly masterful due to the emotions
Yes mate, clone wars is definitely on the agenda :)
Brilliant reaction. Thank you for uploading this. I am 95% confident history will reflect upon this franchise as the best story told by Hollywood. Maybe bad script at times. Maybe silly kids stuff at times. But overall? Still THE best overall story ever put to film. I am so happy it still connects with young people all these decades later. Love and respect to you and yours, mate.
Thank you my friend for a lovely comment. Such an amazing and heart breaking movie. Starting the clone wars soon which I have heard will shed some light on the dreaded 'Order 66'
Only if he knew how tragic the story of the Clones is. He wouldn't be so excited or happy when he sees the Clones getting killed 🥲🥲.
I'm currently watching the Clone Wars mate and my heart breaks when one of them dies lol
I don’t understand why people say the beginning of Clone Wars is bad. It isn’t bad, really. It is funny and I think you’ll like it. Watching the whole series makes episode 3 and the last season of Clone Wars more tragic, and it’s great!
I am going to watch them all mate, no point missing some out
Star wars the clone wars series is legendary
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
Reading Order 66 gives me the chills
Except non of this is canon nor does it even make any sense given what we know about the clone wars.
@@saltybulldog3241 The text come from battlefront, the original game, it was before the chips became cannon.
@@saltybulldog3241 how does in not make sense? The clones had no allegiance to the jedi order, just for the republic and the chancellor…
Think in real life then, You really belive a soldier would not pull the trigger if the president himself calls you and tells you that your commander is a traitor and should be executed at once? And the clones were modified to follow every order, it doesnt matter that they had served under the jedi for 3 years…
The chip is a stupid idea added so that kids watching the clone wars could understand easier…
The first line Kenobi has in the original movie is "Hello There"
One little detail: When Anakin is on Mustafar he tells R2D2 to stay with the ship, he obeys, and everything goes bad. That is the last time R2 ever stays with the ship. on the original trilogy Luke tells him to stay a couple times but he disobeys.
Also, fun fact, R2 is the only one to be in all 9 movies of the Skywalker Saga. And on this movie, they wipe out C3PO's mind but not R2's, so he knows everything that happened in the prequels, about Anakin, but keeps it to himself.
Wow, isn't that mental? Lover R2, they should give him his own spinoff show :)
R2 is the ultimate ride or die droid. Also there are only 6 skywalker saga movies
@Kuma looking forward to seeing that mate
I love your reaction so much when he Said that he could safe padme from certain death to anakin right before he was revealed as a sith Lord.
35:14 "He's in a bad mood, so you got to be careful." 😂😂
True story mate :)
Bro the choreography in the fight between anakin and obi wan is beautiful. They put a lot of work into that scene.
Absolutely bro, cracking choreography and made the scene amazing
@@SofaandChill yeah man I freakin love these movies. Are you in London? My wife and I are in Germany, I’m stationed at Ramstein AB.
@@jppereira10 hi bro, no I'm in the North of England, so maybe a 4 hour drive from London.
Hope you are well my friend 👍
i'm glad you finally saw this movie. i can't wait for you to check out The Clone Wars (in chronological order). it does a 180 on most of what you THINK you know about this movie. as a wise Jedi once said... "from a certain point of view."
The first seasons are pretty simplistic, but the last few are pure genius.
Yeah I am deffo going to check The Clone Wars out (in chronological order as well) I absolutely love the movies and can not wait to get into the series
@@gsh341 Yeah I have heard they start off slow but then build to an unbelievable ending
@@SofaandChill It’s in my opinion the best thing that came from the Star Wars fandom. I love this show so much.
@@dm_dude really cannot wait to start it mate, I was going to the essential episode version but have opted to watch the entire thing (on chronological order 😃)
26:54 Every Jedi’s reaction to their clones turning on them haha.
This is my favorite Star Wars movie hands down. I'm a sucker for heart-wrenching tragedies like this movie. This movie points out the Jedi Order's hypocrisy more blatantly than ever before, and I love it so much for that. Also, the love story between Anakin and Padmé is much more natural and less cringey than it was in Episode II. I just love this movie so much
Love your reactions to this, particularly Order 66. You really really need to watch Rogue One next, as it perfectly sews Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope together :)
Thanks my friend. Order 66 Is an incredible (but stressful) scene. I've watched solo and releasing it tomorrow. Rogue One will be out next week bro 👍
Just found your channel now , been binging your reactions to Star Wars , so much fun to watch, not just saying “wow” and “oh no” at certain points , you’ve got funny and interesting things to say . Please keep these going 👽
Aww thanks bro, yeah I am going to go through the stand alone movies next and then on to the clone wars and then probably the Mandalorian....so much to see hahaha
Pleased you are enjoying them bro :)
@@SofaandChill No problem ✌️ yeah it’s a massive franchise so it’s quite difficult to know what to watch , but pretty much all of it is awesome , definitely check out episodes 7 8 and 9 aswell, a lot of people shit on them but they’re an awesome and fun continuation of the story !!!
Yes @SofaandChill . There is so much Star Wars to see but I promise you it will be so incredibly worth it and then you will be caught up by December 29th…when the newest Star Wars live action show on Disney plus premieres!!
@@shirleyduffer2081 Yeah I better get caught up lol. Don't want to miss out on the new stuff :)
Ian McDiarmid is the only Actor to play a younger version of the same character he played nearly 16-years earlier in Return of the Jedi
on opening night in the theatre, with every seat sold, the gasp when we realizied he was going to kill the younglings is something that I hear every time I see that scene again.
Clone Wars and Bad Batch will eventually fill in the gaps for you regarding the power the phrase "execute order 66" really has over the clones. It's actually really sinister, tragic stuff once you get the full backstory.
"Good soldiers follow orders... Good soldiers follow orders..."
Yeah I have heard order 66 will be explained during the clone wars. Really cannot wait to star that now ☺️
Great reaction! This movie brings everything together and now that you have all the main details there's so much background to learn with everything else
I'm going to start the clone wars mate, would you recommend watching it in chronological order
@@SofaandChill Do you mean watching the clone wars in order or all movies and TV shows in order? I think you don't have to have the clone wars finished before you move on to any of the other movies. As far as I'm aware there are no huge reveals other than Darth Maul is still alive which you now know from having watched Solo. Really the Clone Wars allows you to know a lot of the jedi better and get a ton of back story
Brilliant movie. One of my favorites of all time.
Seeing the trailers for this movie made me both terrified and excited beyond words
bro the no hes not love put me in tears hahaha
lmao, I do have a strange way with words Andrew bro :)
Notice that Clones who accepted the Order 66 called Palpatine "My Lord". They knew what was up. regular clone troopers were unaware of who Palpatine really was, but those were 501st legion members, handpicked and trained and indoctrinated on Coruscant to be completely obedient to Palpatine alone, not Republic, not senate , not chain of command. And then they were seeded throughout GAR until needed to act as intelligence and sleeper agents. Even if Palatine was revealed to be the one who caused the war and as a traitor to the Republic these guys would still obey him. So he positioned them to command postings and when they said to fire on Jedi the troopers under them followed the chain of command. With very few exceptions who paid dearly for it. Of course, Disney and Filoni cannot have complex intrigue and moral dilemmas, since they are incapable of writing that kind of depth, so they reconnected it into Troopers having chips in their head that turn on and they become homicidal towards Jedi.
Ouch, the first time going through order 66....it's a rough one..
I know right? Brutal
LOL crying laughter when you said you'd stamp all over palpatine face!!! Just before he went beast mode... LOL 🤣😂😂😂🤣 yep it take that back too lol
I really would have as well mate :) lmao
Great scene though lol
I know I'm a bit late in responding, but a point of trivia: Bail Organa told Captain Antilles to have the protocol droid's (C-3PO) mind wiped. Nothing was said about the Astromech Droid (R2-D2). R2 never had his mind wiped, not one single time, which means he remembers everything from his beginning on the Naboo queen's ship, til the end of the Skywalker saga (at the very least). His timeline is roughly from 40 BBY to 39 ABY. Those dates are estimates. I'm sure there are more exact dates out there somewhere, but I'm doing this on the fly. Regardless, R2 is one of the longest lasting droids in Star Wars.
And the greatest 😊
Thanks for the comment mate really appreciate
"Sith Lords are our speciality." You know, except for this one here that we already fought and lost against. And I was the only one who ran into the previous Sith Lord. But, anyway...
🤣
The very popular theory is that Sidious drained life from Padme to keep Anakin alive. It keeps his apprentice alive and fuels that hatred and feelings that keep Vader a loyal pawn. Truly a heartbreaking circle of manipulation of someone who truly just wanted to keep his loved ones from harm.
Totally agree Thomas mate, such a heartbreaking way for it to go. I was so shocked the way the fight ended. Although I knew the way it had to go, I was still hurt lol
Sidious used Padme's lifefforce to keep Vader alive. That's why they didn't know why she was dying
Padme was one of my favourite characters and it was such a shame that she died.... especially under those circumstances
Genuine fun to watch this with you. Great job!
have you noticed when we see padmé in her coffin, they make her look pregnant to avoid any suspicion
btw when obi wan means "dont try it" its because anakin was trying to do what obi wan did to darth maul in episode 1 when he cut him in half after he had high ground
And when Luke has the high ground against Vader he says "Obi Wan taught you well"
Awesome bits of dialogue
1- One of the best book I have read is the one for this movie. Where you truly understand Anakin's "Descend to hell". in this movie it almost looks like it was at the snap of a finger, but in the book you follow his train of thoughts and how agonizing it is.
2- Hayden said "Boo" to the kid who said "Master Skywalker, there are too many of them, what are we going to do?" to get a stattled reaction when Anakin would light his saber. When he saw the kids years later at a convention, he smiled and said "So you survived after all" lol
3- I am so happy to see Hayden finally get the love he deserved from the beginning
4- Technically, Anakin did bring balance to the force. There were thousands of Jedis for 2 siths. At the end of this movie, the amount of Jedis is but a few against 2 siths (and the inquisitorial squad).
I have never had so much fun watching someone react to a movie! I love your commentary and personality man, just subscribed :)
Aww thank you so much mate, such a nice comment and really appreciated it. I'm pleased you like them as I will be putting them out each week 😃
Your reactions are hilarious😂😂
Aww thank you Nikol, I do have a strange sense of humour :)
@@SofaandChillloved that you call Anakin and clones bastards for killing all the jedi
29:11 Best reaction to that scene ever. *LMAO*
Thanks bro, I'm still heartbroken to be fair 🤣
I love watching your videos so much! Your hilarious reactions and funny commentary makes it most enjoyable!
Thank you brother 😃
I cannot believe you skipped probably the best line in the film.
33:05 "So this is how liberty dies? With thunderous applause."
If you listen very closely to the music as Vader rises from the medical table, you can hear lyrics that sound like:
“I’m a Sith Lord but I couldn’t save her”
Sure it’s probably just a coincidence since thats supposed to be some fictional Sith language but I found this really cool since that’s the whole tragedy of Anakin
While he's being turned into Vader you can actually see him mouth "padme help me" really tragic
youre the best dude. great reactions!
Aww thanks bro, what a nice comment :)
@41:25 Ironically, he DID. The lightside was the dominant was the darkside(practitioners) were in the shadows. When dealing with prophecies - always read the fine print.
Seeing Anakin in the Jedi temple when the youngling asks what they should do, we all had the same reaction,, "Nooooooooooo..." you knew bad things were coming but, they did drop the hint when he snapped and took out the sand people tribe, he said he killed not just the men but the women and children. Might want to check Rogue One before watching the final three. It's very well written and slips into the storyline incredibly. Only seen part of Solo, wasn't blown away by that one.
Revenge of the sith is the first film that broke me.. seeing anakin's journey to becoming a sith made me extremely sad.
I absolutely agree Marco...such a hard scene to watch in the end.
@@SofaandChillAnakin and clones killed all the Jedi bastards indeed
Love the little head movements during the Opening Crawl 😂 DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUN. Bet you missed the little cameo of the Millenium Falcon entering the hanger bay in the lower left corner after the the “Happy Landing” in the beginning.
Another interesting point, even though his name is specifically not mentioned in return of the Jedi, us longtime fans because of merchandising and other stuff like books have always known him to be Emperor Palpatine, so from Phantom Menace onwards we already knew it was Sidius. He even has a first name. “Sheev.” Already sounds like prick. 😂
Hahahaha he was a prick like lmao. You cannot beat a bit DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUN mate :)
oh shit I had so much fun just listening to your commentary, lol! Awesome vid!
6:50 The most conscise and accurate description ever. 😂
😂😂😂 well I thought so too bro lol
Sending Luke to tatooine I think is actually quite clever. Since Vader is always so controlled by emotion why would he ever want to go back to the planet that hurt him the most.
Yeah that's a great point mate, never thought of it that way
roque one occurs right before ep 4 its definitely worth watching next. Solo is fun but matters less when you watch it. it shows how solo and chewie become a team.
I've watched Solo today mate and will be watching Rogue One next. I decided to get the stand alone movies done before tackling the clone wars lol
Fantastic video you are hilarious and out of all of the reactions I have watched over the years this one felt the most genuine definitely got a new subscriber out of me!
Aww thank you so much for the comment. I am absolutely loving this franchise and enjoying Clone Wars so much!
Hello there🙌
Another awesome reaction!! Appreciate the longer cut, you kept a lot more than most reactors! Glad you enjoyed them and can’t wait to see what you decide to do next! I’ll be curious to see your take on the sequels 😉
Absolutely no problem Marci, I didn't want to let anyone down with a short edit as that would take away a lot of the reactions. I absolutely loved this movie also so didn't want to chop it too much. It will be Solo, then Rogue One, Clone Wars, Mandalorian and then the sequels :)
