I have been stumping avocados in the Southern California area for 20 years. The first block I started on 20 years ago has recently been done for a second time. The crop output has been improved by 10 times its production as to when they were 45 feet tall and one solid canopy and no foliage underneath or fruit. Now they are approximately 15 to 18 feet tall heavily pruned from year to year to keep them on a manageable size for picking and pruning. And yet 10 years from now they’ll probably need it again as this is such a vigorous growing and productive crop in our orchards. We have done the entire 500 acres in this process and several blocks have been done more than once. I don’t know many crops this can be done to with this kind of fantastic results, but avocados are one that are in need of heavy pruning from time to time to maintain the heavy production they are capable of.

This is butchering the tree not pruning.
You know what you should never ever farm you only know how to destroy.
90% of these cuts is dangerous for the trees.
Also if you ever cut any tree to 1 or 2 feet tall just know thats pathetic and waste of time money water and everything else.
If you left the dam trees alone they would be just fine but more and more you cut the harder the job more often you'll need to care for it and faster it dies.
Have fun replacing every single tree in this video in 20 years or less.
Ps I got over 300 avocado trees that fruit about 200 pounds per plant and my trees are over 150 years this farm has been part of the family for well 150 years.
So you know, this is also common practice in Southern California, where 90% of the avocados are grown in the USA. Maybe it’s you who’s doing it wrong... 😉

Even after 150 years it's not too late to learn something from someone who knows what they're doing. While you're at it why don't you learn how to interact with people respectfully.
The Silent One should do just that. Be silent. Disrespectful and wrong! The most important tool in my shed is my Chainsaws. Im in the process now of pruning 1000 Avo trees. In New Zealand.
