    After nearly 20 yrs refusing to go out because of depression but also due to fatigue/pain ,I have started to go swimming once a wk and get to enjoy my grandchildren in the process (even though I know that the next day I'll hardly be able to walk ) just remembering their smiles make it all worthwhile. I also wish I could have a pet but when I think how much one needs to care for it and also the vet's bills, its not worth it .I'm from Malta.

    These tips make so much sense! I started doing these things a few months ago almost inadvertently and the difference is significant.
    I love to hear that I’m on the right path and advice for what’s next.

    Great tops. I volunteer a few times a week just to get out. Pets are awesome, Louie stays by my side 24/7 if allowed. He makes me giggle, play ball but most of all if he thinks I am down his head guess to my belly and I can't help but hug him and smile. He knows me too well.

    Hi Doc, I watched your new video this morning and this video popped so I rewatched it. I'm really struggling with depression and isolation. I'm disabled from MS and unable to work. My husband went back to work on-site in May so I am home alone all day. Actually, I do have a 9 year old black lab named Luna that is here with me. But still, it is the human interaction and engagement in life that I feel I am missing. The pandemic plus being immunocompromised from Ocrevus has really altered opportunities that I feel safe doing outside of the house. After watching this video again, I am thinking I need to make a goal to call someone at least once a week. I also have plans to start seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. Thanks for all you do Dr. B! Have a good day-Lora from Michigan

    Just came across your “vlogs ” and I just wanted to say, thank you. Your cheerful demeanor and overall joyful attitude alone, had me binge watching your videos...and if that wasn’t enough...the actual information you’ve shared has been truly wonderful! This one in particular was inspiring. You are a gift to your patients.
    I’m 46 (for about another month😉) and was diagnosed almost 4 years ago.
    After a 9 month Tysabri flush...(on for 3 yrs but was afraid of PML risk, J.C. Positive high titer level) I will be receiving my 2nd half of my first Ocrevus infusion in about a week...feeling so many “ugly” things since off Tysabri... hoping that I’ll feel better with this new Therapy...thanks so much for making it a little more clear for me. ...yeah....just thank you... very much...for all of this. ☺️

      Darla,
      I'm SO excited that you find the videos helpful! That's awesome. If I see 16 PwMS in a day I hope to help 16 families. But if my video could touch others, I can help many more that I otherwise wouldn't be able to reach!
      Congrats on transitioning to your new DMT. These transitions can be emotional / challenging but YOU CAN DO IT!

    I took an antidepressant but it caused me a lot side effects such as weigh gained of 22 pounds and now I am pre-diabetic because of that. So I feel like having to decide: be calm or be diabetic. :(

      @AaronBosterMD  Před 6 lety

      Howdy Rita, hopefully there are other antidepressant options for you that don't require that choice!

    • @rcassia
      @rcassia Před 6 lety

      Hi Dr. Aaron Boster, thank you for your answer. I've treied five different drugs, even those ones that "don't cause weight gain". For example, Cymbalta, I had gained 1.4 kg in a month - after had gained 10 kg with Celexa. I just gave it up. That it was last antidepressant that I took. I need to take a medication to keep myself stable emotionally, because MS makes you feel on edge all the time, you have no patience with the life anymore, it is seems that small things, like waiting for the bus or a loud television, bother you. I think it is because of the fatigue. I feel tired all the time and it is hard to be pleasure and all smiling when you are fighting to do daily activities. Do you know any medication, natural or prescribed, based on your experience, that doesn't cause weight gain? Please notice, Dr. Boster, you are not prescribing it to me, only base on your experience. I will see my doctor in September again. Thank you!

    • @AaronBosterMD
      @AaronBosterMD  Před 6 lety

      Ask your provider about Wellbutrin and Viibryd, for examples of anti-depressants that are less likely to cause weight gain.
