thanks for the video. my friends think that small SE amplifiers are insufficient in power, I use 400mw per channel with an 88db speaker in a 25m square room, it is absolutely sufficient and pleasant for my ears
Curious if you tests the THD with much better EL34s or others. I can hear the differences in distortion with the KT77 but not with upgraded EL34s like the psvane EL34ph.
@decwareproducts Would output tube pairs with near matching distortion still have matching distortion if moved to a different amp? Is the matching, in part, also function of the particular input tube?
If you are putting it into another Decware SE84UFO, UFO2.1, UFO3, UFO25, the matching distortion will remain unchanged. Matching a function of the input tube? It could be, if for example you had a weak side on an input tube and then compensated with a stronger output tube on that same side. We don't do that, so the input tube and output tubes are independently matched before being tested in the amplifier. It would however have an affect if you randomly changed input tubes at some future point and then re-measured. Usually the changes are subtle if the input tube is a good clean tube.
Nice ! My amp is a big14 watts one. It goes loud ! It's a Single-Ended 6C33C from Fluxion. Amp made one at the time like Decware. I had to wait 4 months . What's the waiting time for yours ?
Whilst by all accounts the amps are worth it, it’s hard to conceive of a 2 year wait and the number of lost sales from that includes myself. My Zu Soul Superfly crave a Decware but the wait is simply far too long. It’s cute as a tactic - “we must be good because look at the waiting list” - but in practical terms it’s poor business practice and looks like stubborn resistance to simply employing and training sufficient staff. I find it bewildering. People out here would kill for a listen or a purchase but it’s largely not going to happen.

The wait is ludicrous. What else is there to say? If it’s not a tactic, poor business or stubborn resistance to the obvious then by all means expand on what exactly it is.

We have 2300 amps on order, putting the turnaround time over 2 years.
