When i read a story, I imagine the characters in a very unique aspect. I honestly hate watching movies based off of books because they ruin my mental image for each character. Hence why i never watched any of the Divergent movies. HOWEVER, I was quite surprised when I saw the Twilight movies. I remember debating whether or not I should start watching them cuz the books had a huge impact on me. But Hot Damn! Each character was portrayed perfectly, and now every time I think of Edward and Bella, I think of Robert and Kristen. There could not have been any other actors who could have pulled off the roles, and It was absolutely worth watching each movie👌✨
Shows how dumb the book fans were and how no one should listen to fans about casting actors. They wanted a French man named Gaspard Ulliel who cannot speak English like an American, he always has a French accent. How could that possibly be Edward Cullen, born and raised in Chicago? He's also only 5'10, Rob is 6;1" He's also 2 years older than Rob. Book fans knew nothing. Failing Gaspard, they wanted Hayden Christensen, who can't act and who is 5 years older than Rob. But they wanted him to play a 17 year old vampire. Rob is a stellar actor and that stood out at the audition.

Rob had self-taped in London but he never sent it in. That's partially why they wanted him to fly to LA and audition in person. Summit had been after him for 6 months, but he didn't like the script. Then he got a $25,000 tax bill in the UK for his HP4 salary, but he hadn't put any money aside and he was flat broke. So he finally decided he would take whatever was offered and his agent set him up to meet with the director and the rest is history. He aced the audition and signed on to do what he thought was a little indie horror movie that no one would see. Joke was on him, lol

Then in 2018 for the 10th anniversary of Twilight, he finally admitted he wasn't only broke, he had that tax bill and he would have taken anything that was offered. It just so happened that Twilight was the only thing he got offered.

Besides she was the main character in so many more movies before twilight lol. Speak was all about her and, adventureland, the messengers etc. She even played her first role with Jodie Foster at the age of 10 and it was so more than 10 minutes. Also she would never accept the role if she had known twilight could get this popular she was okay with acting in indie movies.
Even though I LOVE the books more thank I love the movies (which I love a lot, anyway) and I do think too, that Robert isn't the perfect Edward Cullen (at least as I picture him to be...) I'm so glad that he and Kristen were chosen to be Bella and Edward. They're chemestry in the movies was just SO perfect. They're perfect for each other. That's what makes the movies being watched, for me. You can FEEL they truly are in love. Just like Edward and Bella...
Rob is a great actor. He seemed truly in love with Reese Witherspoon in Water For Elephants and with Emilie deRaven in Remember Me. He would have chemistry with a door knob. Actors with his kind of charisma make everyone in a scene with them look good.

With Kristen in Twilight, it was something absolutely magical... you could feel that. At least, I could. And I think that's not something you can do only if you're a great actor... that's something more. That's what gets me emotional, when watching the Twilight Saga. It's like seeing and feeling their own real love and relationship growing through all those years they were together... At least, this is just how I feel. :)

So if you saw something between them in the first two films, it was ACTING. They didn't begin to hook up until New Moon was done filming. So you have an active imagination. The rest of us saw sparks between Rob and other actresses, especially Christina Ricci in Bel Ami and Mia Wasikowska in Maps to the Stars. Their one kiss in Maps was hotter than all 5 Twilight movies combined. He really has chemistry with Mia, and his elevator kiss in the Dior ad with Camille Rowe is also way hotter than anything we saw with KStew. You're just a Twilight fan, you see what you want to see. People who aren't invested are better at being objective. Also, they weren't even together for all of the last 3 movies. They were off and on the whole time. Rob would go off for 2 months to make a film and not even see her. It was never a fairy tale romance in real life. They fought on the set all the time, in front of cast and crew. Some of them have talked about it. It was mostly her having a temper tantrum and Rob just standing there letting her rant. it got so bad one time on Eclipse though that the director had to shut down the set for the rest of the day after lunch. She had a screaming fit and for once, Rob told her off. She went totally ballistic and David Slade dismissed the cast and crew and told everyone to go home for the rest of the day. She cost the production $300,000 that day. So their relationship was no romantic picnic. She was moody and hard to get along with. When you think about it, she was hiding her attraction to women and to other men, so no wonder she was difficult to be around. Rob deserves a medal.
