wonderful native instruments, finally after so many years new hardware!!
at last bring out a Z2 mk2 we've been begging you for so many years!!!!!!! or even better a Z4 that would be a dream!
Ohhhh yes We definitly NEED This!
So Native - Listen please Listen to your Lovers🎉
Be nice if native instruments could come up with a new all in one controller
...they could of updated/upgraded a lot of us with a "Z2 - to a - Z4", would have held its own + the inofaders for the old school's.. just saying.
an all in one controller without the use of a laptop would be so good
I wish they would create a product that was like Denon DJ LC6000. All in one controllers will never take the place of a Pioneer Dj mixer in a pro club environment. Would like a product that i could easily fit two units in to one case and integrate with DJM 900 / A9 / V10
What about a modular traktor kontrol series so that you can have 4 physical decks, instead of 2 dual layer decks… 👽 (please NI, don’t forget the flight case for the 4 deck setup 😉)
One without huge jog wheels, perhaps what they used to be like in the 90’s
Still love my first-generation X1. I bought it at the time to accompany my DVS setup but quickly found out it could really hold its own as a portable Traktor controller.
Same here. I bought the original X1 so I could use it with Serato. I loved it, but it no longer supported. :(
Agreed.Mk1 is a fab bit of kit.
Would have actually been more excited if they announced an X1 mk1 firmware update.
@@jzea5605 this comment speaks to me. I could do without their hardware at all. My preference would be more innovative software updates. That said this unit looks interesting.
Next week Z2 mk2 thanks 😅
I'm hoping so... I'm about to upgrade my set up. I'm dreading switching over to serato.
Z1 MK2 (if they ever come up with it) together with this new X1 seems like a golden portable setup
@@ricketycricket3242especially now pioneer own it, well pioneers parent company
I think so too. Just checked the NI website and the Z2 is missing from their list of DJ hardware.
@MrChoppington when Mo Jaxx dropped the pioneer buying serato video, my heart sank. The sad realization is that I probably have to switch over to pioneer & serato.
MK2 owner here. I'd say this addresses a lot of the minor inconveniences of the MK2, parts which I've kinda avoided on the gear itself because it was so cumbersome (navigating/using FX and the transport controls, for me). So with that in mind, I think this is a win.
My only criticism is that this feels maybe 6 years too late. This would've been perfect if it came out alongside the Kontrol S2/S3/S4 MK3 as an accessory controller for digital DJs. Today, I feel like those into digital DJing are getting full-featured (plug and play) DJ controllers w/ mixer and jogwheels, or are figuring out ways to use their production gear with DJ setups. Is there still a market for a controller like this?
My hope is this is the lead-in to more gear from Native Instruments (it's been far, far too long!), or part of a larger vision on modular DJ setups once again (why else would this have 3x USB inputs?). We'll have to wait and see. For now I'm just excited that NI is putting investment in their DJ products once again!
My experience about those who are into digital DJing (myself included) is that when we play at different festivals and club events every time, we want our setup to be small and modular to not struggle with finding space for it on a usually cluttered table. Almost everyone of my peers use either a Traktor X1 or an AH K2 and an additional 4ch audio interface for an impeccable sound quality. The built in internal mixer control can be a lifesaver sometimes (as the chameleon mixer mapping for mk2 did for me) but frankly 99% of the time there is a pio nexus / xone mixer in place already with superior feel, workflow and sound compared to the internal mixer of a software. With all the inconveniences of the mk2 having adressed like you mentioned, this is going to be my next upgrade for sure. :)
Glad you like the new X1! All the improvements were made with the previous versions in mind. If you get it, you get it 😉
@@NativeInstruments Uh, I like hearing that... 😀
Glad that you are still alive!😃
S2MK4 with effect knobs on top like the MK2!
Again no Audio Interface? Oh man, that's a shame...
Damn I wish you guys would of came up with this years ago when I used to use traktor. I would of loved this
I finally migrate to Rekordbox and THEN NI releases new hardware.
Great, love the new X1❤❤
Awesome!!!💯💯❤❤
The play button is where the cue button used to be and the sync button is where play was..... my muscle memory is going to hate this.
Awesome! 🔥

New hardware 😮 thanks 👍🏿
All in one controller is needed 😝🥳 something really fresh
This looks like the perfect X1 I must say..! Still think that Traktor hast the best way how beatjump is managed. Switched to Pioneer 3 years ago and everytime I see someone using Traktor I still want that beatjump functionality back 😭
New S8 soon?! Best controller ever made tbh

The thing that I would like to see is Traktor Pro 4 with elastic beat grid and better GUI.
We're working on it 🤘
I use traktor since it came out and never missed elastic grids and the gui is just fine
@@castielvargastv7931
I’m glad you don’t have any problem with beat gridding, but Elastic beat gridding is an important feature in Djs world today. That’s why Ableton is the king in that department. I use all kind of tracks in my mixers and remixes too.
@@NativeInstruments same codebase?

Looks great!
Can't wait to order NI
Damn this thing looks dope!
Soooo I feel like my problem with Traktor at this point is that it feels directionless. All this video did was remind me that Traktor has some amazing effects, but this new product does very little to change the user experience of the effects. The layout and flow of this controller is the essentially the same Traktor has been using for over 10 years now. Macro/Micro effects, etc etc.
I get that Traktor was always intended to foster creativity but its vast array of effects just feel very open source to me. If it were up to me I think its time for Traktor to design some hardware features that can be included on all their products that make the user experience of effects more practical and easy to access. I think this was kind of the intent of those all in one effects like the Wormhole but I just never found those useful.
It's funny in 2023 when most tech companies need to hire more and more software engineers to keep up with the competition, I think Traktor needs to do the opposite. I will always die on the hill that Traktor was and is a software that was eons ahead of its time. It's just sad to see hardware de-prioritized so heavily. This is what is hampering the creativity of the community that remains loyal.
Definitely. Also they literally don't cater for pros who just want something compact to mix manually with that has RCA inputs. I literally never use looping or effects as the genres I play dont warrent it as many other people do too. So if i want to use traktor I either buy a crippled kids toy with the S2 MK3 or have to carry around a huge bulky S4 mk3 which is now 5 years old. They should literally be outsourcing traktor software to other controller manufcaturers and getting them to produce elite fully integrated hardware as they are basically incapable.
If you have questions for the Traktor team, don't miss the Ask-Me-Anything session in our online community here: bit.ly/ama-x1mk3
@NativeInstruments
sorry to say - but its not about questions - it's about your direction as a company - and it seems pointless - milking the market, but not innovating which was your main target 10 years back.
its sad - the amount of talent that you kicked out a few years back will never return..
@blake - i dont think its about the number of software engineers - it's about their priorities - making hardware costs a lot of money - money that investors dont want to see spent - rather try their luck with pro-subscriptions - it worked for the gaming market right?
'djing as a service' .. wild
I like the size increase and the general design. The return of the 4 encoders above the cuepoint buttons is great!
Sadly no NI Traktor Kontrol Stand like they offered for the X1 MK2, a hard stand is so much better than the softbag for a homesetup next to a mixer. Also no support for the Trakor Djay App on iOS - it would be a perfect little controller to bring along with an iPad.
I still have the carry bag/stand from the original X1. I remember back then, there were aftermarket stands on ebay. They looked great and matched the mixers height.
Wow... NI brought back the iPad app? I thought they took that down a while ago! Looks like it's back.
For me this is the best market for this controller is to use alongside a tablet. And not just iOS. I have the LumePad 2 tablet on Android which I love and definitely has the specs to run a mobile app. With the MK1, my friend and I mounted it and an iPad between the handlebars of an adult tricycle and we had a mobile DJ trike. It was the perfect size and use for this.
That is a gorgeous piece of hardware, now with an Z4 mixer would be awesome...
Very excited 🎉🎉🎉
I wanted to love this, but it still feels like it's missing something. Open Format DJs will still struggle a bit for tracks that have shifting beatgrids. Frankly, the two best things about this over the MK1 or MK2 was the OLED displays and the USB hub. I'd of also loved to have seen it be a USB-C with 80+ watts power delivery so it truly is one cable to my laptop. Until I try it out, I'd actually say that the backlit buttons on the MK2 are still my favorite.
This design is also a drastic departure from other NI products, so I'm curious to see where they are going (I'm not particularly fond of this design).
Hi there, there's no integrated audio interface because our X1 is made to be integrated into a bigger setup. You'd have to plug your speakers to your mixer.
@@NativeInstruments ok, but if I want to use 4 decks, I need to have a multichannel sound card such as the audio a8 or the a10, which today there are no longer available. Unless it has an integrated sound card for example in a mixer. What happens if I don't have a mixer with a sound card, do I have to buy a multichannel sound card, such as a Tascam 16x08 for example, or have to sell my mixer and buy a new mixer with an integrated sound card? And if I had an integrated sound card in the x1, as happens in the similar controller from the Allen & Heat brand, the You really tell me that this device is designed to be implemented with larger equipment. Come on, you don't include it because you don't want to and you prefer to put the x1 on little screens with information that the software itself gives you or put little lights down as if it were a fair so that tells us that the song is ending or to make our set more attractive. And if you listen to people's comments, it's not that I'm the only one who complains that it doesn't have a sound card, it's that there are a lot of people who We criticize that. That's why many people go from buying the Listened to those of us who use them, I think you have not listened to the truth much, because it is more of the same and what people are really asking for, which is a sound card, you have not paid attention to it and you have continued without implementing it in the x1
Any audio device with 4 channels would work in this case. If you have questions how other DJs integrate the X1 in their setup, product experts in our community will be happy help. Feel free to drop your question here: bit.ly/ni-community
Looks so elegant and minimalist! Wow!❤

Nice! NI stepping up! I see a LOT of needed improvements over the original X1, especially connectivity. Very interesting, I'm curious if you guys will update some of the other ones, this could be the return of the modular dj rig and I'm all up for it
Appreciate it!
Ever innovative
Great to see some new gear looks class
Was starting to think NI was dying... tractor is still the best software player hands down!
Appreciate it!
Although I applaud any new hardware from NI, i don't like the new design, but more importantly, I don't see any reasons to upgrade to this from my trusty X1 mk2 tbh
So Traktor is going back to the roots. Failing to stay competitive in the professional segment (where it somehow managed to land after first few years of disruptive innovation) it seems that's it's time again to win hearts and souls of teenage boys like the original Traktor DJ Studio did.
I feel like people have already found much better workarounds for all of the new features this has. The X1 Mk2 is still a better option because it does one thing and it does it super well. It's going to be hard for me to upgrade to this. There's no way I'm taking a chance on the new Cue/Play button placement.
100%, I hit CUE waaaaay more often than SYNC so its a bit of a head scratcher why they changed the placement.
Hello,
I have the X1 MK3 and am looking for a function from the X1 MK2. Shift + Loop = Loop Active Mode.
I can not find this function on the X1 MK3.
Can you help me ?!
thank you very much
ALF
I would love to see if Joris Voorn or another huge traktor dj will pick this up. I believe allen & heath k2 is the standard for this type of device. The multi-deck mixer control on this has me intrigued.
For sure, Dubfire will also be using it
i hope soon they come with a dj controller ,to impress us
The software takeover of knobs is still a thing I would never get used to. Can't someone invent and endless rotary knob that also stops turning when it's at 0 or 100%?
@@rybakarol do you understand my point? If you give one knob multiple functions, it's a lot of times out of sync. Would be nice if you switch function if it would rotate mechanically to it's value or make it a digital rotator, but a new kind that can enforce resistance at the boundaries.
It exists already - Nina synthesizer by Melbourne Instruments
This is so disappointing. Mixer mode with no audio interface built in. A missed opportunity. USB-A connectors. And no USB-C. The sync button oddly placed next to the play button. While the cue button above. Unnecessary (too many) small screens. Only 4 hotcues without (shift). . Naa. Love u N.I and Traktor team. But imma pass on this one. I'm still excited on what's to come 🙂
or just not get the unit at all ;)@@AlienShine
Seems to me You're the kind person really hard to please, or you just show disappointment just so you can appear like you know better than people working in design team -_-
Men.. USB C is totally disaster on DJ equipment, cable comes out very easy, with the USB B i didn't have ever any problem.
I agree with you to anything for the mixer & no audio interface.
@@Oceanix__ Im sorry you feel that way bout me. In part I guess ur right. But that has to do with me being a Traktor fan since final scratch days and always defending and utilising they're products and for a very long time they were ahead and innovating, setting new standards that we see on most gear of today. But lately. It feels like everyone else has passed them. and when they finally release something.. well I guess I was hoping for the innovation that was there once. And for what it's worth. The design is great and futuristic wichI like. Its just the features that are the same with some screens and leds.
what I'm also trying to say : don't you think if they put audio interface then they would have to raise the price of the unit? And I'm sure alot of people would also love simplicity over one piece doing everything that it can? Might confuse a lot people like "what is this controller about??"
We want Video dj in Traktor waiting for that
if the displays were better, IE showing waveform id get one, ill stick with the D2 for now
Awesome, love it 🥰

Finally!!!
What are the two circular discs on the desk that its teasing us with in this video??? Is it some new DVS for turntables to compete with Rane Twelves etc? Or am I pie in the sky dreaming of what Native Instruments should be making to keep up with the competition????
I hoping they teasing a new S4 or something, as they look about the size of there standard jog wheels 🤞

Also. What we are all REALLY waiting for is the S2, S3 and S4 we have all been waiting for (for over a year?!) . This is a good indication of the future for 2024. I like the lights. I like design and layout. But this is just a teaser really of what is to come.
I will take this anyway over an s4...small,light,stealthy,fits anywhere I need my MacBook,my E&S DJR 400 throw in a small backpack and off
Is there something native on the mixer that allows pitch control? Or does that have to be mapped? I saw you can continuously resync things, but if I want to manually adjust the pitch, can I do that out of the box?
I kind of dig this as a portable mixer. When I'm in the hotel, or friend's house and just want to play some mixes without needing my entire gear. Definitely packs a lot of features in a small footprint
On the old ones sync+encoder changed tempo. I assume it's the same on this one
The X1 mk II let you hold sync and adjust the loop encoder of a track to adjust the bpm. My guess is you can do the same thing on the mk III
That’s awesome
I sold my Xone-92 bout 2 years ago
But I still have all my tracks and my Traktor load on my MacBook
I’m seriously considering getting a pair of this just to play around

Is it possible to get access to the 'out' information that displays the FX names on the displays? (e.g. via midi or USB HID)
I'm curious if that's available for use when mapping other controllers with displays or if its proprietary and only available to NI controllers?
Cool little controller. I need a bigger one because of my finger size
I already own and use the X1 mk2, but was considering adding another X1 mk2 anyway, so you did this at the ideal time. I may wait for the mk3 instead now.
What Interfaces would you (or ppl in the comments?) recommend for external Mixer and 2 x X1's as your Audio 8 + Audio 10 Dj interfaces are discontinued now? Should I look for a second hand 8 or 10 via eBay or reverb or is there anything else you'd recommend?

Z2 MK2 . . . YES PLEASE!!!
The biggest mistake in all DJ hardware companies: changing the location of PLAY and CUE buttons?! Are they crazy?! Also, the most useful tool : touch strips, are gone?🤦🏻
I did not buy the mk3 because of the useless atrips. I am glad they are gone
@@castielvargastv7931 you mean the MK2? i've used them for years and years, I can guarantee you they are very helpful. so you cant be glad something you never used is gone. especially if its replaced for something far worst: simple push buttons.

Yes, it looks like the new generation of DJs need the sync button more than the cue button. only ridiculous 😂
I was nearly sold until I heard, "subscription."
So it's basically just a good mapping with LED lights :D
Now waiting for a refresh on the F1. I am hoping that it will support modern Stem separation. I am sure they are planning a new hardware piece for that. For DVS users, the Mk2 touch strip wasn't very valuable anyway. The encoders for track search are more useful and a return to the practicality of the Mk 1.

I like the mixer feature ❤
You can have it in any x1 controller lol
Where is the touch strip? 😢 I liked mapping FX to the strip using touch for beat repeat and other effects. 😞
really interested how the mixer works(because of shared knobs)?
How to remember what was the positions of the frequencies if You switched to the effects and change positions of knobs, for example. Just imagine that we are playing 2 tracks in the same time(by cutting out the LOW from one of them and balance the MID), after that You go to the effects/pattern and change the position of shared knobs. WHen You return to the mixer to finish transition/or move away one track - how X1 Mk3 will tell You the previous positions of the knobs?
Hey there, if you're curious how the X1 MK3 can fit into your setup, feel free to drop a question in our online community here: bit.ly/ni-community We've got many product experts there who will be happy to help!
Looks really good. The new full size deck controllers gonna be sexy af 👄 Love my S4mk3
Everything in the new version seems too dark. During live performances, it's very difficult to see. The old version was much more visible and easier to use, not to mention the touchpad, which is wonderful and missing in this new version. Nobody really looks at the display, so in my opinion, that's completely unnecessary. I can't find much that the new version does better than the old one, except for the easier use of the four effect channels and the roll-back feature. The previous version had a much better finish and the knobs were of much higher quality. I'm sorry, but between this new version and the previous one, I would still choose the X1 Mk2. This new version should have been much better, especially considering the number of years since anything was launched.
Looks so good, still have my mk1, which is in very good condition but doesn't work on Mac M1. Can this control the deck filter and change it? Also, light brown table, not good to show of the lights.

Should’ve brought the clear mold for the LED visuals up flush to the top surface as well so that if you were to mount these in a coffin etc you can still see it, wouldn’t take much just a thin clear line on both sides or suntin like that.

A nice refresh. I think we need more software progress to reclaim lost users, however. Missing stems and video mixing abilities..!!!
Hey. What about a standalone controller? Anything coming sometime soon?
Now just add the main and headphones outputs and it's perfect
All we were wanting was functional automation in Maschine but they figure out how to put useless leds under their least sold DJ controller
Love the top, wish you'd strip out the LEDs and make the whole unit less thick. Also, why is SYNC next to PLAY when I would think CUE would be much more effective down there?
Not sure if I need one but could be helpful next to the maschine. Find the silly transparent led bottom very unessesary tho. But thats just me
the previous version of the X1, when it boots up it gives you the option of decks A, B or C,D is it possible to switch to C, D after selecting A, B initially?
I am using Time Code with an external mixer
Kind of a dumb question but if you're using 4 decks, can you plug one controller to the other, so you don't need to plug in each controller to a hub or laptop? Hopefully that makes sense 😅
You know what thanks for putting in the time and effort to make this. This has restored my faith in traktor as a product. I'd love to see stems as a mixer function with 4 bands. And a 4 Channel Mixer similar to the K2 by Allen and Heath.
meh
Where the hell are the tactile strip to make corrections ? This is absolutely necessary for any pro sesion and they kill it? How it is supposed that we fix sync problems with this mk3?
It would’ve been nice to get a mention for what to do with the output audio but who knows what’s coming next
@@Enneas as great as it looks, the thought of carrying an additional interface sounds like a nightmare. Also wondering whether the Z1 mixer is compatible to be plugged into it
@@whereisko I mean I am sure you can. I've always used an F1 with my Z2. I think for this though the question I would ask is what would be the added benefit of doing so? I mean this essentially duplicates a lot of the features on the Z2. It just does so in a sleeker device with some modern design elements. I personally don't need duplicate places to do the exact same stuff. I mean if this had something like an 8 cuepoint pad or hardware features that use the software in a new way then I would totally buy this. Almost like what the SP1 did before a lot of controllers and mixers took the next evolution.
Realy?, favorite feature... lights? come on!

i have a maschine studio/maschine jam and komplete kotrol mk2 could they all be plugged into the 3 port usb hub?
also can this be used to midi map other ni products and work in maschine 2?
You can switch the X1 MK3 to a MIDI mode and MIDI map anything really. If you're curious how others use the X1 in their setup, make sure to drop your question in our online community here: bit.ly/ni-community
I’m curious, can you use this without a mixer and decks to where you can hook this up to a computer and then outputs to a sound system?
Changes virtually nothing users were asking for for years and changes stuff nobody asked for. Really running this franchise under the ground guys. Let's hope you got something in the store for Maschine...
Can the encoders be programmed/mapped to play four decks? It should be an optional shift function for the bottom 2 encoders
also curious
Hey there, you'll need 2 units of the X1 for a 4-channel control.
@@NativeInstruments Don't think my arms are long enough on four turntables 😂, thanks for the reply
So you don't need a Z1 if you have the X1?
shut up and take my money :D
Native have come a long way I still have the first version of the X1 and love it... its a Fking Tank for djaying.. :D
Are the other, Z1 and most important for me F1, modules updated as well and how long will it take for NI, because I will only upgrade if other modules are upgraded and on the market. To only buy 2 of this one will not cut it for me. Looks awesome and hopefully other modules are updated as soon as well.
How to I connect headphones to this? I remember there used to be a really small unit by NI with just main out and headphones.
