    Many thanks! I only need to replace the Tcon pcb and not many people think its even possible but i gave it a shot today on a few cracked lcd's and was successful and after watching this I feel ready to give it a go on my customers repair

      I actually also tried to replace tcon boards on a bunch of scrap screens, and although my soldering skills are quite advanced I ended up with non functional screens, not even showing image but black bars and all that stuff. Must have damaged the ribbon when desoldering.. whats ur technique?

      @@pietervanderweg1157 T-12-K Shape-K is the tip I used though on my customers repair I used a tcon board from a A1706 and while the main pcb board numbers matched the sub set didn't and i got similar results as you with lines that if i didn't know better would make me think it was cracked ie lines and no real display however I do feel I need a tcon from the exact model for this to be successful

    Great job! Could you tell me please, if there some adhesive appeared on a upper layer of diffuser could it be cleaned by alcohol or another liquid or it will cause more damage?

    I just noticed that you put the rubber seal that goes around the perimeter of the LCD panel, in after you fitted the panel into the housing. Did you cut the little half moon pieces of rubber that are supposed to go under the LCD panel? Every other video that I have seen, they put the rubber in before the panel. Thanks, just curious PS - the music is growing on me 😂

    Awesome work!
    I don't have that soldering experience yet (on the scale of M1 PCB connectors) so got a question: I saw your working very fast during initial soldering of new TCON (the flux had not been put yet!).
    Is this how you do pre-heating, to work more easily when the flux is already in place?
    Anyway, thank you very much for sharing, this is frankly amazing skill level :)
    PS: my issue is with camera (torn ribbon cable), would it be similar process?

    • @l2computer310
      @l2computer310  Před 23 dny

      Thank you!,Yes, we use flux during the process, and pre-heating isn't necessary. The procedure is quite similar to soldering a torn ribbon cable on a camera.

      @@l2computer310 You used the backlight sheet as a prying tool for the screen ? I keep braking (cracking) these screens whenever I try to remove the glue from the sides.

    I must be doing something wrong. I have gone througn 5 different pairs of these cable and I still get flickers. Mine is A1708 screen. Do you have any idea why? I followed your steps and everything. Can it be the flux causing the flickering? Its dribing me crazy. Also are the T-CONs interchangeable

    Exactly why all of the new macbooks are rubbish. Want to buy a used Macbook then think again if it uses a "non replaceable" flexgate cable. This repair is almost impossible for a number of reasons and if you manage to find someone like this it's going to cost you the same as a used macbook. Buy a 2015 retina or opt to never close your laptop.
