    I already got the LTD for Apix-Drive. How is Active Pieces better?

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Hi Harold,
      Activepieces is open-source so you, a dev you hire, or a software company can build their own triggers and actions.
      Apix-Drive looks cool too and has more integrations right now, but as of now, they have to build all of the integrations themselves and they need to rebuild there system core to be able to offer the ability for third-parties to create integrations.

    I don't recall whether you are a Pabbly user, but if you are/were, I'm wondering how the two compare.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +4

      I have used Pabbly but I'm not an active user right now.
      Pabbly has been around longer so they have a lot more integrations and the integrations they do have tend to be a bit deeper.
      But, Pabbly is really slow. There is a loading animation after every interaction. Not the end of the world, but it creates mental friction -- I don't want to use the app because it's that slow.
      I am a strong believer in open source -- my guess is that ActivePieces community can catch up pretty quickly to even market leaders like Zapier. I love that I can hire a developer to build an integration for me if I really need something (Accoutn > My Pieces to add your own piece to the flow builder).

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +4

      Ooh, just looked at the Pabbly LTD and see the limits are pretty low.
      To get 10K actions it's $700. If you choose a plan lower than that you don't get all the core features like delaying and scheduling.
      Pabbly could still be a good choice if it works with an app you need right now and you otherwise spending a lot on Zapier.

      @@dave-swift as always, appreciate the candor and perspective.
      I concur with the open source sentiment. And the point about the development community is an important one.
      I'm on an original Pabbly LTD plan so my limits are great at a good price, but I share your experience and I am leaning toward adding ActivePieces anyway.

    Looking through the pieces, I don’t see Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Amazon seller central, or other e-commerce platforms, so I’m wondering how much work it would be to work with hose platforms.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Head over to community.activepieces.com/
      You’ll see requests for all of these platforms, so be sure to voice your opinions!
      Shopify actually does exist though! Not sure why it’s not on the main list.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I agree, but ultimately it will be as good as its integrations (AKA pieces)!
      The more we can support open source tools like this, the better it will be for everyone.

    Hi Dave, can you please help me pick the right deal? I am a teacherpreneur, I plan to automate my client support, blog posts (once-twice a week) and social media posts (once-twice a day). I am a newbie in automation tools, how do the tasks count? If for example all 600 users I have on my email list read the blog post I automated, or an email I sent, will that count as 600 tasks, or one? Sorry for such a dumb question, I can't wrap my head around the task count and pick the right plan. Which AppSumo Tier would you recommend for which use case? Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your feedback.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hey @superteacher123 -- So sorry I didn't see this in time. Hopefully you got what you needed!
      I wouldn't necessary use active pieces to send to 600 people, you'd really want to use a proper email marketing tool for that, which can handle bounces and unsubscribes.
      If you did, and you put them all in the BCC field, it would be one task :)

    • @superteacher123
      @superteacher123 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi @@dave-swift thank you for the feedback, I did grab the Tier 1 deal only as I will explore the automation options on the go, I will stick to my email marketing platform and use active pieces for other purposes, thanks again, I just subscribed to your channel, looking forward to exploring your videos

    Hi Dave, So cool,
    Thou I got several zapier alt.'s - Integreatly & SyncSpide to name a coupler. Your brilliant showcasing of the ease of use, speed & flow, I simply have to get a tier 2 at least -> The result of your very good walk trough of setting things up in ActivePieces = Being able to stay in the "mindstate" . + Your simplistic logic point - active opensource community = fast dev/ functionality catch up, + options for custom flows etc.
    - Btw. nice voice & sound, so more beautiful when only compressed once ;-)

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci

      😂 I have a button on my stream deck to apply my EQ and compression. I decided to be nice and only press it once for this video. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
      So glad you enjoyed the video!

    Since the platform is open source, what are your feelings about MRR? This one seems more sustainable in my opinion. Curious to hear your perspective.

    • @dave-swift
      @dave-swift  Před 7 měsíci +2

      The good news is that even if the hosted version went away because of business failings, the code is all out there so you could host it yourself or someone else could create a hosting business and offer it as a service!
      Open source is the future.
