ooooh, no....sorry. Chocolate and vanilla and all that, but Loreen's has so much more passion and energy and emotion.....to me she's just trying (and succeeding obviously) to sound impressive....not exude emotion.
It's a Eurovision special of Beste zangers. Floor just had a surgery so she filmed at home, couldn't travel.

I shared this song with everyone i know xd I liked the original, but when Floor gets her hands on a song it is a different story.

Floor Jansen has recently been mentioned as the ideal candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest of 2020. According to the singer, however, she simply does not have time for that next year. "I have not spoken out about it before, but I can say that I will not do it this year. I am way too busy with the new album and the Nightwish world tour, but I still think it is an honor that people would entrust it to me ", said Jansen.

Great catch, Sam, about the dress on and of her shoulder. I saw it too, the first time I watched this video. None of the other reactors I’ve watched, noticed that. I think it took a few takes to record this video. But nonetheless, beautiful sang by gorgeous Floor! Can’t wait see and hear her with the rest of Nightwish live at the end of the month at their virtual concert! 💕🤘
From what I have seen on youtube, this performance by Floor seems to have grabbed the attention of the reaction community more than any of her previous masterpieces, including Oblivion (still my fave, so far). No surprise though, it is stunning. Hard to believe she had surgery only a couple of weeks ago, and here she is, looking better than ever, and sounding as good as ever. Whatever her recovery regimen is, I hope she keeps doing it!

I think the technical term you were looking for is mindf*#k with that “higher” part. She’s really a special talent ...elegant power is a great description.
Side note: I’m glad you are doing better from your pain issues and able to toss out the pain meds... believe me I have seen multiple great people/friends lose everything due to opioid addiction from injuries, etc. also, so appreciate your willingness to discuss this to a bunch of strangers like me here on YT. Massive respect to you and hope your healing journey continues. Really enjoy your reactions and descriptions of how/why singers sound the way and do the things they do...also who doesn’t love a Scottish accent???

Floor is incredible. No matter if you are a fan of heavy metal, hard rock, classical or else, she is admittedly one of the best female vocalists of this generation.
Original song sang in Eurovision was ok-ish musically, but bombastic otherwise because of its great staging and choreo. This version is a totally different animal - super!!
I mean, it is not a pre-recording. You see the Marcel Fisser Band played in the BZ Studio.
I respect your opinion but I disagree. A few bits to look out for are at 1.15 on the original video the fan isn’t on, then at around 1.19 the fan is on after a cutaway, with no time for the fan to get going. Then at 1.36 the drum fill you hear doesn’t match what’s played, there’s a Tom hit missing. (You might have to slow the video down to see it properly, it’s the hit just before the symbols)
I think that the band are playing along with whatever was sent in (or they sent a track for Floor to work from) but it’s definitely at least 2 video takes of Floor (fan and no fan) and the live band playing along with what was sent in.
Either way, I’m not hating on it, I thought it was fantastic, just sharing my opinion on it 😊

Floor recorded this at her home because she couldn't travel due to surgery. She recorded several versions of the video and pieced different visual parts together. The show played the video and had the live band playing along with it.

Is anyone out there doing anything like this? Having fun, putting out covers outside her home genre. Floor is amazing. I'm so happy for her. Longtime fan of Nightwish and the symphonic metal genre. So fun to see her gaining more and more recognition

The lady with the Afro is Tanya Kross, an opera singer and as such she can really dig this.
Floor is recovering from an operation. So while she couldn’t come to Beste Zangers Beste Zangers came to her. So that’s why, as exception, it’s not live at Beste Zangers.
Why not make an exception for Floor?

As someone who lives close to a house whose alarm keeps spontaneously going off about once or twice a week (without any robbery attempt), I feel you...
It is probably true that the video is a compilation from several takes.
I asume they Floor and Hannes have one high quality camera at home so it would require several takes to get the takes from different angels like the are shown in the video.
Definitely several takes to compose the video. There's a mix up with floor's arm in the part where she sings " higher and higher...." she raises her left arm in one shot. It cuts to the frontal shot where her right arm is raised..... Never the less she and Hannes did a good job . And the production team of Beste zangers made a great edit with the performance of the band and the other guests. The result is epic!
@@peterboon8316 Unfortunately, the audio was messed up at the end. The cymbals of the drums come and go from the mix in the end. The version on Spotify sounds much better even though it's supposedly the same recording.

But I love Loreen's original too. She might not have the best of voices but the way she portrayed the song, the emotions you can hear when she is singing it is just 👌
(and that sometimes trumphs a superior voice).
oh my gosh, yes! I don't know what you mean by not the best of voices (not arguing the point, as someone who isn't a singer I'd like to learn)...but like you said, the emotions you can hear when she is singing - to me, hearing the emotions vs not is what makes hers a much better performance, imo. Maybe technically this one is "better" but it just doesn't do anything for me.....(note: I'm one of those uncultured types that doesn't like opera - LOL!) ;-)

Maybe I worded it a bit wrong with regards to Loreen, I meant that she might not have the strongest of voices but only if compared to others out there.
Singing, as well as dancing, has to "touch" or mesmerise me. That's what Loreen did with Euphoria.

She and Simone Simons from Epica have had fans for nearly 2 decades.
She’s done it forever. It keeps her cool, hair out of her face and helps her not ruin her makeup because of sweating on stage and then wiping her face.

I really love Floor, for me she one of the best out there! But there is another Dutch singer I want to tell you about. Her name is Anouk and around since 1997. One of my favorite performances was on a tv show where she was invited and people could ask her questions. After this session she sang two songs both great!

I must confess, I hate the eurovision song contest. In my eyes, this is a political farce. And I did not know the original knowingly (maybe I have already heard but forgotten. Floor is one of the best Singers on this Planet. Euphoria is not the best Example for the endlesless things she can do with her voice. She can sing clearly, opera, also growl and a lot more stuff.
