Hegnsholt's tasty eggs from hens fed with leftovers

In this video you meet the egg producer Johanne Schimming from Hegnsholt poultry farm. Hegnsholt is located in Lejre not far from Copenhagen. Johanne wants to show us another kind of farming. More than 2000 hens and other animals are fed 12 tons of leftovers and byproducts every week. All the food is local and organic. It is a puzzle to give the animals the right mix of ingredients from what is delivered to the farm. The animals are fed every day. It is a new way to feed animals inspired by the farming history. The farm is known for high quality of eggs.
