As this was shot in black and white it seems much more evocative of the time. the film shows street scenes, the shops and business's around Alexandra Parade in 1966. There is a great bit with the old, jump on and jump off, number 106 bus turning into Regent Street from Walliscote Road

Glad you enjoyed it. I have a few vintage films on my channel featuring Weston so take a look at those as well.

At 2:05 it is showing the end of Meadow Street that was knocked down for the new one way system. You can just about make out the red and white pole outside Mr Amesbury's barber's shop and between that and the Sale sign in, was it Lipton's? my father's chemist (pharmacy) shop, LJ Roseff. There is actually a passageway between that led to a bakers, Merrick's I think, and you went down into the dark round a curve and came out into the kitchen where you could buy hot-cross buns on Good Friday when the shops were closed.

@@DaveEldergillCineFilm Thinking about it, the new one way system was why there were so many closing down notices and Weston Decorators, at the end of Meadow Street, at 1:43, has a notice saying they are moving. My father took advantage of the empty shops in Regent Street and took one on for the summer of 1966 to sell cheap tat (paste jewellery etc), sunglasses and Ambre Solaire to the holiday makers - and Scholl sandals (with wooden soles) that were all the rage at the time.
