Same here! This song always makes me tear up. Some say it’s happy, others say it’s sad. For me, it feels like someone’s life from start to end. At the beginning, is slow and calm and it makes me feel nostalgic of my childhood. Like being born and playing in the neighborhood. Then the faster pace reminds me of growing up into an adult and finding yourself (love? Kids? New experiences?) and the later part reminds me of the person finding calm as if they’ve died peacefully.

Day 85: hello guys! People have been wondering why I have been commenting like this everyday. And although I did answer this in one of my comments replies, it’s quite understandable how some of you don’t know since it’s just hidden there, silly me. So I am here to answer it! The reason I am commenting like this everyday is because I used to have a very close relationship with someone who associated with this song. They’d play it to me when I was an infant, but unfortunately they have passed now. So to keep my spirits up, I’m commenting everyday about my daily life to give the idea I am still communicating with them. I know it’s silly but I guess this is my way of coping. That was the original idea. But I’ve noticed some of you have watched my attitude grow better throughout my story, and I find it nice some of you guys like reading them! So I won’t fail to provide!

Reading through these comments I see that this song has impacted so many lives in so many different ways. That is so amazing how this song transcends time and generations. I first heard this song when my 1st child was born in 2004, it was music included on the pack-n-play sound box and it has remained my #1 favorite classical song. Everlasting and genius! ♥🎹🎼🥰
i got here after hearing a song in a youtube video about pianos that i heard in a video from a youtuber i love. i went back and found the video and now im here and im happy.
Day 971: boring, but I had my oboe lesson. I am now playing in the 3rd octave, which is cool. I went to symphony orchestra rehearsals, and we played well. It always lifts my spirits, just the atmosphere. I then had tutor, which was good
This piece makes me feel terribly sad yet happy at the same time. Thinking about all of us, living here and now, on that small stone lost in the universe ; thinking about you, reading this comment during a few seconds in this billions years old galaxy... I love you all, dear neighbours
Day 3 - Now, apart from being ghosted etc, I am now leaning towards mental peace. I woke up and did all the necessary stuffs. Now, i am free. I'd like to thank God, Universe for making see this another spectacular day. Also, another good news, it's been 4th day, I decided to quit my dirty habits. I am proud of myself. Lastly, i wish pure eyes reading my note a prosperous Day ahead. Thank You.
My grandfather was a pianist and composed many songs and played all his life since he was a boy. He taught me how to play the piano and taught many others to play too. He brought so much joy and passion to music. He even could guess the composer and song just by hearing it. He was such a talented man. This song is one he'd play a lot and was my favorite because he put his own style into it and made it so much more beautiful. My whole family thinks of him when hearing this song. I'll never hear him play it again but I want to be able to play it one day. He was my whole world and the reason why I'm a pianist. If you've read this far thank you and I hope you have an amazing day, whoever you are.
I mean they probably will and already did hear it in heaven. And don’t say your not religious or some stuff like that cause I don’t give a sh*t if you aren’t.
Listening to this during christmas hits different, knowing your going to be in the next year soon. Time flies, but having all the great moments together.
My dad listened to classical music as well as rock, like jimi hendrix and led zeppelin. I will always love my dad's influence on me with the classics. This is music that never ends, that passes the test of time. It shows me nostalgia and love that no other music can ❤
I hope it gets even better! Your comments remind me to find something good in every day which is an important thing to remember when you want to stay positive. Thank you and have a good day everyone!
This was my moms favorite song. She put the '78 on the phonograph all the time and as a toddler I sat and listened. I lost my mom while I was in Viet Nam in 1969. I miss you.
My husband passed away March 10th. I’m missing him terribly tonight. He was such a wonderful man and now I have to go on somehow without him. I love to think of hi. And listen to this song.
Wow - I can't begin to imagine what you've been through. As I write this, I feel tears welling up in my eyes....for those who have loved so much. My words are so inadequate, but know they come from the heart.

Day 4 - I am so happy to be alive. I pray for all my fellas well being. Today, i don't gave a specific plan, but let's hope something good comes along the way. Thanks Universe.
This feeling of a song released my anxiety, and deep down in me people know, I’m happy on the outside, not on the in. This song makes me cry, it feels so calming and tells a peaceful story to me!! I’ll be playing this on replay, no doubt❤
every time i hear this song i think of her. its been a year. Im gonna see her tommorow again, I cant bare it. Why does she still have such a hold over me? I just cant forget, it was so beatiful. We used to watch the stars together, listen to music and smoke cigarettes. Every cigarette i light, i think of her. Everytime i watch the stars, i think of her. It feels especially dumb, when im watching them with another girl. I guess you really never forget your first love.

This just reminds me of my dog, who passed away over 1.6 years ago. This reminds me of him, and my good memories with him. I cried when I saw him lying on the ground, having a seizure, then dying. I still mourn his death until now, I just cant seem to move on. I know I’ve got a new dog, but I would never forget about him every day. I could not stop listening to this song. It somehow helped me move on in my online classes during the pandemic, and it helped me relax and calm down after a swimming competition. I could feel his presence whenever I listen to this piece of art, as if he was sleeping beside me this whole time. This masterpiece isn’t just a song, or just a piece of music. This is him. Me, 5/12/2024
If you listen to this and say "oh this isn't that hard", think about the fact that Debussy spent 15 years (I think) composing this just so it could be enjoyed by everyone
I think playing this would be simple to learn. But damn the composing. I think we people love to hear these simple musics rather than different complicated tones. It's peaceful.
Day - 1. I'll start to churn out my feelings. I don't if some eyes catches this or not. But, it's for me. I have been feeling sad, for no reasons. Mood Swings and all are on a specific routine. But also this melody makes my feel alive.
Hey mate, I used to feel like that all the time, and it’s a part of life. You just have to have hope and not to give up. This song is something else, it makes me feel peace and reminds me of my friends who have left and gone far. Don’t ever give up, no matter how bad it may be, God is with you and in your spirit.
@Lennon7781 thank you so much. Having no friends and feeling locked up is really frightening these days. But i'll try the best. I wish the best possible outcomes in your life.

Day 595: again, going to bed slightly earlier. Maybe this will help fix my sleep schedule. I was very tired today. I did a lot of yard work, though I have never really cared about how the yard looks. I helped my younger sister with a bake sale, it’s something she has to do for school, I hope she did good. Hopefully tomorrow will be better
this sound reminds me of an old man who has accomplished everything and who looks at his pictures of his glorious past, and who know that it is time to leave
This music started playing at my head when i was in work. I worked at cafeteria on the beach. One day some really old man stopped next to me on wheelchair, with drip bag looking at sea with open mouth and tears in his eyes, this was heart warming and heart braking and the same time because i knew he was looking at sea for the last time in his life...
Fun Fact: Debussy once said that Chopin's musical talent was unparalleled. He called him the greatest piano player of all time. It goes to show the incredible passion for music like this.

God bless everyone.
We had to put my family dog of 15 years down last week. The night before we had to do it, I kept him in my room with me. In his final few months he suffered from bad arthritis that prevented him from sleeping comfortably without pain. Often he would cry in the middle of the night, and we would have to console him back to sleep. Our final night together, neither of us could sleep. He was in pain, I was in a different sort of pain because I knew what the following morning had in store. As I sat by his side that entire night, I played this song and said my goodbyes. Now it will always remind me of him.
I’m really sorry for your loss. I’m crying now. I want to go hug my dogs. One is 6 years old, the other is going to be 10 years old soon, and the other is going to be 12 years. They’re all getting older and they have been the best animals I’ve ever had
The first time I heard this song was in the movie, The last emperor. It was the music box that he gave to brad pitt, which in turn he gave to his son. After I watched the movie I found this song online and saved to my Ipod. It's one of my favorite songs.
Every month when the full moon comes out, I like to listen to this with a glass of milk (a moon-like liquid) and contemplate the deep beauty of Creation.
I recently broke up with my gf. She sent me a text message that our relationship wasn't going the path she wanted to. This has been my first experience as a boyfriend. We used to listen this song together and we loved it. This song reminds me of her. This song is her.
OMG! Now wonder she broke up with you. Try again when you grow some balls and know how to act like a man instead of whining like a little girl. There are millions of women out there several of them will be stupid enough to go out with you.
