  • This follows on from the previous video and was actually the next day, which was a bit different as you can see! But it's a good demonstration of switching from on land when it is to wet to in furrow.

    These new fastracs are impressive bits of kit. Their field performance has came on leaps and bounds in the last few years. Every bit as capable as any other tractor in tuff conditions.

    The first pass is usually the worst when ploughing in the rain, if you can get down the field the return pass has a drier furrow to run in which helps with traction. The ground is still dry 10 inches down, only the top surface is wet.
    Good to see you can carry on.

    Maybe need a more heavy front counter weight George to allow for the extra sinking of the mud on the back wheels and plow I see the front wheels as you said were slipping a bit so a bigger weight could force the front tires to grip better and level up the machine for even better pull? I no expert mind you. But just seems like front wheels need more to hold them down better?

  • @Rx37Legacy
    @Rx37Legacy Před 4 lety +1

    Nice vid! Might be an obvious question but never done much ploughing, why does going in furrow make it pull better compared with on land?

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  Před 4 lety +6

      Cheers Quentin, after you've made an open furrow to run in it tends to be drier giving you more traction. I should of explained that in the video.

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  Před 4 lety +1

      The open furrow that you have just made will be drier hence you will get more traction

  • @hiscifi2986
