For me it was cool to know that even though New Edition was broken up..they still supported each other's music outside of the group. which is why Bobby is seen in BBD videos & Ralph Tresvant videos and Johnny too. this my 2nd favorite BBD song though. I love It.

This is what made new Jack swing so popular from the late 80s through the mid 90s…you stayed on the dance floor

O yeah back in the day when this song came on at a party everybody would be on the dance floor or at the block party getting it! Actually this song is a little bit longer on the radio and CD version. Just a little bit. But yeah mostly all of BBD's fast music had everybody dancing. Great reaction!

A very hot to def reaction 🔥🔥! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to BBD before: Poison, Poison- Live, Something In Your Eyes, When Will I See You Smile Again, Word To The Mutha!, Do Me! and She's Dope (Remix). B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)? was released as the third single from BBD's 1990 album: Poison. It was written by Darrol Durant, Eric Sadler, Keith Shocklee, Paul Stewart and Roney Hooks. It was produced by Eric Sadler, Hank Shocklee and Keith Shocklee. It sampled: (I Got) So Much Trouble In My Mind by Sir Joe Quarterman & Free Soul (1973) and Chain Of Fools by Aretha Franklin (1967). The song reached #1 on the R&B chart, #16 on the Dance chart and #26 on the Hot 100. No info on the music video available. BBD performed this song live on the Arsenio Hall Show, 1991 American Music Awards and It's Showtime At The Apollo.
    BBD Info 📰:
The trio of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe had their origins as members of the Boston based quintet singing group New Edition, which had gained notice of famed producer Maurice Starr at a talent show in 1981, and as young teens had several hit songs including: "Candy Girl", "Mr Telephone Man" and "Cool It Now".
In the mid 1980s, New Edition underwent a line up change when Bobby Brown was kicked out of the group in 1985, as well as, when Johnny Gill joined the group in 1987. During this time the group members were maturing and tiring of their bubble gum pop sound and sought to branch out in new musical directions after their chart topping 1988 album: Heart Break.
During a hiatus in 1989 after their NE Heart Break tour had ended, and at the suggestion of producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Mike Bivins, Ricky Bell and Ronnie DeVoe decided to form a new group, and were signed by MCA Records. With help from Public Enemy Bomb Squad producers Eric Sadler, Hank Shocklee and Keith Shocklee and other producers like Timmy Gatling and Dr Freeze, Bell Biv Devoe released its debut album: Poison in 1990. It's an album credited as pioneering the "new jack swing" sound of the early 1990s, combining hip-hop, funk, soul and pop music.
This fusion of musical styles helped to expose BBD to a fan base which preferred a harder edged street sound than the type of music that New Edition typically recorded as a group. Poison reached number 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and its title track, along with its second single: "Do Me!", both reached number 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The Poison album also spawned the singles: "B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)?", "When Will I See You Smile Again?" and "She's Dope!" Poison sold over four million album copies, and was followed up by a 1991 remix album titled: WBBD- Bootcity!: The Remix Album.
In the early 1990s Michael Bivins would start his own record label: Biv10 Records, under Motown Records, and discover many artists including: Boyz II Men, Another Bad Creation, 702, Biv 10 Pee-Wee All Stars, MC Brains and Subway.
Bell Biv DeVoe released two more albums: Hootie Mack, in 1993 on MCA Records and B.B.D., in 2001 on Biv10 Records. Neither album was as successful as Poison, though Hootie Mack did reach Gold album success. Ricky Bell also recorded a solo album during BBD downtime in 2000 called: Ricardo Campana. While Ron DeVoe would begin a successful career in real estate in the greater Atlanta area in 2001.
Despite the fact that the group has only released four albums, the members of Bell Biv DeVoe continue to perform together as a group and tour all across America performing their hit songs as well as some New Edition songs. In 2017-18 BBD toured around America as RBRM (Ronnie Bobby Ricky Mike) with Bobby Brown.
BBD also participated in several New Edition reunions, and continue to perform with them on annual cross country tours as part of the group.
On May 30, 2013 Bell Biv DeVoe performed their hit song: "Poison", for Boston Strong, a benefit concert to raise money for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
In 2016, BBD released their first new track in 15 years: "Run", along with an accompanying music video. It was the first single off their album: Three Stripes, which was released January 27, 2017 a day after after BET's New Edition Story finished airing.
On August 24, 2023, Michael Bivins released his documentary: The Hustle Of @617MikeBiv.
In 2023, they performed the national anthem with The Boston Pops Orchestra at the NHL's 2023 Winter Hockey Classic.
BBD still performs their music live on stage and still tours as a part of New Edition in 2023.
    Awards And Honors 🏅:
In 1991, the group received the award for Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Album of the Year, Group, Band or Duo for Poison at the Soul Train Music Awards.
The group also received an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Band/Duo/Group in 1992.
