    My dad taught me was how to prepare neck bones. I'm 35 and make em at least twice a month. After cleaning them I take a Tablespoon of better than bouillon garlic base and stir it into the water. Season, add the onion and after a half hour add black eyed peas. At the 2 hr mark I remove the meat and make a rue (cornstarch/flour) mix to thicken the juice into a gravy (must be careful not to over thicken). I like em hot out the pot over my bed of basmati rice topped with Frank's red and a side of corn bread. Have a good sleep after that 😪. Great video.

    I've been craving neckbones and when I got home it was already after 7. I came across your content by accident. I was going to cancel because I wanted to cook em in the crook pot. But you showed me how to cook em fast and tender so I'll be eating late but not crockpot late. I'm going to make rice from the stock and the cabbage is ready! Thanks!

    I absolutely love neck bones, With potatoes and carrots. People these must be cleaned like to chitterlings. And, must have bone in. I even saute my meat and onions together, Before adding plain water or chicken broth. Adding my white potatoes at about 20mins before the fish is done. Please season this dish. It's so excellent.

  • @nathanprovost8782

    Looks delicious. I just put mine on the stove right now and I had every ingredient that I needed except for onion powder.I I did see her mine first lock in the flavors. It may not come out as tender but it's going to have a hole a lot o flavor. I had a bag of baby carrots so I added tham into the pot as well. I'm going to make some mashed potatoes and about an hour and a half and then I am ready to eat. I'll let you all know how it went. I'll also be a great idea to pull the pork out at a cup or two of rice to the stock that was just made and bring that to a boil again and then turn it to low and simmer it for about 17 minutes and that Rice will have all the flavor in as well.

    • @nathanprovost8782
      @nathanprovost8782 Před 2 lety +1

      Oh and I also added some basil and three cloves of crushed garlic and a couple tablespoons of sugar just to sweeten it up. Not sure it's going to make a big difference in taste but it's kind of like what my body is craving. Bon appetit y'all.
