- New York University, also known as NYU, is a private university founded in 1831. The famous people went to NYU include Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, and Anne Hathaway etc. While it has campuses all over the world, the historic campus is in Greenwich Village near Washington Square Park. The university has around 50,000 students enrolled with a highly selective admissions process. It is a competitive school to get into with the average GPA needed at 3.69.

I am a 1979 NYU graduate. It has changed quite a bit but remains beautiful .
I used to walk around Washington Square Park and just people watch. Thanks for the nostalgia, as usual!

NYU is a no-campus campus. Also this misses school of engineering, school of law, school of medicine, dentistry, data science, etc.
Columbia is small. There are only a few buildings.

@@yunyunzhongsheng Tuition and costs. I applied to equally good schools such as UCLA, Berkley, University of Washington, so if I applied ED to NYU it would close all my other options.
I don't know if I'm making sense, but basically, it was just the commitment of costs and other universities as well.

I wish I could go there it's always been my dream university but sadly my parents can't afford it they make an average income but I won't give up
same :/ if your grades are good though, i recommend looking into financial aid + grants and scholarships!! not just the ones that the school itself may offer, but also ones from other organizations + companies since there are a lot of different grants/scholarships (offered by many different organizations) that can be really helpful :)
