its such a heartbreak to see biman dc 10 scrapped.. they were the only airlines which allowed passengers to cook onboard. I remebered heating our noodle soups in our portablecamper gast stoves.. the stewardess was so kind to lend us matches..
June Serrano Haha. Seems interesting. Where are from, man?
Fantastic film. Amazing they were still flying till recently. Cockpit time warp with flight engineer and all analogue instruments. Interior was so 1970s. Lovely plane
20:38 Hey, what a nice land... 20:39 BADABOOUM!!
+ThisisBrownfield a "real man" landing!! LOL
Woo, still in one piece?
RIP GEAR
That bulshit Camera man
What a butter!! 😅
The cabin walkthrough at 10:00 is amazing... this is missing from a LOT of aviation documentaries and it really gives a good idea of the scale of the plane and all the parts of the cabin, without pointing the camera down or otherwise interrupting continuity. It's interesting the cabin is just a bit shorter than I expected, then again the cabin length is only about 15 feet longer than a B757-200.
I remember flying on an American Airlines DC-10 from IAD-LAX back in 1979 or 1980. They had a camera in the cockpit so you could watch a live video of the plane taking off. Plus, you could listen to the pilots, and the flight engineer, on your headset.
Cool its Nice to know this , its feel like cockpit takeoff for passangers probably
Cool to see that old bird still airborn after so many years! I like the scratches, and rust spots on the linings of the windows. Shows she's been through some time!
This has got to be one of the greatest videos I have ever seen! What a CZcams gem!!!!Thanks for posting!
WOW - what an amazing insight into this incredible aircraft! Your attention to detail is this video is outstanding and allows us to see every single aspect of this classic aircraft. Thank you so much for your time and effort with this flight - it allowed us to enjoy this tri-holer one more time....cheers
Damn, you are such lucky, JUMPSEAT the whole trip!!! Sooo Amazing!!!
Yes it was a huge privilege to experience the cockpit of one of the last "first generation" widebody passenger planes flying commercially. Utmost historic and epic
Heritage Elevators
how did you manage to secure the jump seats?
+Heritage Elevators the honkong was quite rough toch down and why did atc told sorry after vacating hong kong runway and i was listening on full volume on headphone tragic touched down shocked me off seems late or slow decent really... how was your experience....
Well that is totally banned in America
biman pilots usually allow people to get in and check the cockpit out
42 years old DC-10 till now in survice, its wonderfull :) and the best comment from Pilot is you are getting more than you pay for....! Nice Video, Thankyou so much :D
I've been coming back to this video for years. Such a detailed overview of the interior of the aircraft and amazing once in a lifetime view from the cockpit of a passenger service DC-10 in HD! Thank you so much for posting. The music and overall video production value here... this video has been such a trip for me.
the cool thing about third world countries is you get to see many vintage planes still in operation up until recently (biman has updated their fleet now but 2014 was still very recent). and rather than settle for grainy vintage 70s footage, you get treated to local youtube travellers uploading with 1080p quality from the interior doing a walkaround and even get to film the cockpit. what a privilege! there's a laid-back ness there that just isnt available anymore in the prim and proper by-the-protocol first world countries where you are treated like baggage whose sole purpose is to occupy your seat until the flight is over and then leave. thanks for uploading this important video document to the DC 10's civilian airliner service legacy well into the 2010s!
Thank you for the nice comment. And i totally agree. I'm so thankfull to the fine crew for this amazing experience. What a privilege!
You think China is a Third world country?
@@ReymenDimitri they have passenger DC-10s?
That bad boy went out empty. I recognize the FO from another Birman DC-10. I love-hate this plane. Flew an American Airlines DC-10 soon after the 191 crash. Had to due to equipment change. Was a sick sweaty mess on take-off but it turned out to be a smooth comfy ride. Looked at all those switches and controls on this plane Wow. Overall it looked in run down condition, but it has seen a lot of hours I imagine. I enjoyed this, from the terminal to the good luck touch of a boarding passenger going to his Flower Power covered seat. I felt like I was on that plane looking out the window seeing the going ons. HISTORY DOCUMENTED and done so well. Thank you!
I remember flying on a few DC-10s when I was a kid on Venezuela's flagship airline, Viasa. I think the flights were mainly from Caracas to Miami and back. They always had such great service. I remember visiting the cockpit during flight and staying in there until right before landing. Regulations were different back then. Another time they moved my sister and me into first class since we were children flying alone. It was such a great experience. Such a shame when Iberia bought out Viasa and essentially shut the airline down.
I remember flying aboard the DC many many times too & from SJU from JFK via American Airlines back, way back in the day. I loved that airplane. I never recall any turbulence, that is until they were retired from service and the A300 (600's) & 767 took over. There was nothing as smooth in the air as this old bird, it was the Cadillac of airplanes.. thirsty yet smooth!
that video is historical now!! Thanks for sharing, wonderful!!
rare shot at 5:50 of an Antonov 12, a 1950's Soviet turboprop.
If I were a multi billionaire I'd start an airline and have DC10s, MD11s, L1011s and many other vintage airliners.
Imagine seeing an airport today with so many majestic beauties lined up all in top notch airworthy condition still hauling millions of people and their belongings around the globe.
I may not be a billionaire for long but what a way to blow the money away right?
I'll go in on that with you! All tri-jets! 727s too:)
+Knoledge Whale And MD80's
You would have to charge an arm & leg for tickets, just to pay for fuel and maintenance on these old beauties. The only people flying on them would probably be mostly aviation fan's, because no one would pay double or triple the price of a modern airliner, you would lose all your money very quickly try to keep these dinosaurs flying. Then you would probably take the plane and fly it into the ground after learning you're bankrupt. But trust me I would be one of your first costumer's, i would definitely pay the triple price as long as i can sit in the cockpit for few minutes during the flight and if you let me land it i would pay ten times more because you would never see me or the money because they would have to scrape me of the runway with razors after my landing.
Damn i love all the wide body tri-jets.
outwestlawns and topless stewardesses ?
outwestlawns and for sure you wont be billionair forever...but i pray you would be rich and could take me fly because i am poor and dream to fly... kih...kih..kih!
By far the best BIman video ever thank you so much for Uploading
One of the most amazing aviation video I have seen on CZcams. Hahahaha the music is awesome showing the exciting part of riding such an old fashioned beast lol... Good job!
omg... u r so lucky. U did a historic job..... this plane is now a history. Any photograph with a pilot in the cockpit and with pilot"s signature.?? lol...U know there are pawnshop... who buy and sell historic things. lol. Thanks man.
remarkable video! Thank you! Greetings from Biman DC 10-30's long time home base Dhaka, Bangladesh! :)
brings back memories I used to fly Nothwest a lot back when they flew the DC 10 from LA to Minneapolis a lot. I LOVED the dc 10. It was big but not oppressive and COMFORTABLE. I loved the layout. a whle bank of restrooms in the rear and a lot of space around the galleys to just hang out and not be forced to sit down. I loved the comfort of the older airliners.
this is amazing alex!!
Thanks for sharing, really great to get to see and feel the experience
Cool, very nice video and well filmed I like the retro interior of those DC 10's
WOW!DC 10 ISREAL PILOTS AIRPLANE AND THX 4 POSTING !
Wow!! now that interior is 70s style. I remember being on a TWA flight from London to LA as a young child and seeing that same interior. L:Oved you got the jump seat. Been in the jump seat with BA with my uncle when I was in my youth. great video
Midala40/ D and A's Food Review it's notv70s style.....it's actually from the 70s, Biman never have a shit, that's why they were NB ever allowed NEAR the US
Wow, the jump seat! How cool is that!
Classic video of a classic airliner...Nice!
7:25 best sound ever, the trawling buzzsaw, I have no sense in how full the aircraft was but they ere quick on the climb out sharp ascent
What an amazing trip thanks for the ride! I’ve been a DC-10 fan for over 20 years that’s the best looking airliner ever built IMHO. I get tired of hearing all the trash talk about them. It’s sad that they are now being retired as freighters.
Rode one from Dallas to Honolulu and its still my 1st choice aircraft, I really miss the seats from an older aircraft they were more comfortable❤✈
Beautiful plane in every way. Thank you for sharing.
appropriate choice of intro music. How retro. Love the DC-10 as it was my first widebody ride
Bangladesh Airlines need to work a lot on their interiors.
This is one of their older planes... probably used to fly Bangladeshi labourers between Dhaka & HK.
But it sure looks like a time warp from the 70s. All that's missing a disco ball & the FA's wearing leisure suits to keep with the vibe...
the interior is groovy. like it's from the 70s
this is from 70 and its in junkyeard now. it was a farewell flight. right after that. its destroyed
It's a very old plane. The new 777's are a lot nicer.
Indeed
This old beast of the 1970s and a experienced crew is a nice combination
Wow i love the seat's colors and wallpaper as well. I wish all airlines look back to redecorate their cabin to be like this. I m sure it will come back around again soon. Fashion is all abt being in and out and back in again.
Wow! That was so cool! You flew on the last DC-10 flight. I haven’t been on it yet! That was your memorable. I remember when I was young. I saw DC-10 in HNL and KOA, as well. I didn’t take a picture. I did see Hawaiian Air, Continental Airlines, and United Airlines who have DC-10 before. I miss those days. So now the future is here.
Rusty interior but very trusty aircraft .. one of the Best of the Oldies ..very lucky you are ..:D
Brilliant just watched the whole thing!
Great video Thank you!!
Amazing video! Wish I was as interested in airplanes this time last year as I could have flew on it in Birmingham! I live in Ireland. DC-10's are an amazing aircraft, just hear then Pratt & Whitney JT9D's!
Very nice video! Thanks!
Excellent video on interior!!
Thanks for posting, Heritage Elevators.
Wow! this Aircraft almost flying? I flown 1988 with Biman. Landing on the Jumpseat in Rome. I never forget. It was amazing!
beautiful video plane details and you adventure
Wow! DC-10's in use! I thought they was now history! But no! Cool video!
What a nice, friendly crew. The interior makes me want to put on a leisure suit, order a Pina Colada, then disco dance.
Hey Alex! How are you! Good to see you here! The guy in 24:25 looks so cool :D That was really a fantastic return flight shared with you. Also saw some clip of my image :) I'm sooooo surprised to find you here and saw sooooo many fantastic work of you! Good luck and best wishes!
FANTASTIC! What an experience! Although I find you incredible brave! I think i'd never set foot on an old airplane like that, from that kind of airline! What an old thing! Congratulations!! You where flying just for fun, or do you work for the airline?
🖕
superbe video!!!
Haha I thought it was quite funny that you were walking around the hole plane allmost back in to the cockpit again and then you went to the toilets and started flushing it and pressing the buttons ahhahahahahahahhahahahaah great effort
LOVE THIS VID
Nicely documented.
Very good review, especially lavatory ;-)
DANG! It must be scary flying on a Death Cruiser 10, yet cool at the same time.
I think a lot of accidents were due to Pilot error and maintenance error I heard the plane was pretty damn good besides that
LOL! DC-10/MD-11 outsold the L1011 by more than 2 to 1. tell me more about the "death cruiser."
Brings back childhood memories seeing the Saudia 747 and Biman DC-10s at dhaka.
Pure vintage old school Planes the DC-10 is I sure miss these aircraft the best of times.
That's classic ❤
❤ From Chittagong 🇧🇩
I was on one of these to a flight to Cuba. So much room, seats were big and washroom was huge too.
Amazing video!! Problem is I want to watch it all again and tell you the bits I really liked by it's 00:30 and got to be up early tomorrow! Loved the 1970s feel with the old control panels and jumpseat trip omg :) more soon...!
Thanks! I'm going to Birmingham this weekend to experience a flight on this DC-10 yet another two times. Why not join me there? :)
Heritage Elevators How much does this flight cost and where does it go?
Biman does one-hour Scenic Tour Flights with their DC-10. The flights both start and arrive in Birmingham airport, BHX. There are three flights everyday on 22-24. february, so 9 flights in total.
Tickets are still available for 100 GBP

Would you be interested in a meetup? I am in London 9-14. april 2014. My purpose is to fly the last Airbus A300 in Europe. It operates for Monarch and last flight is LGW-BHX on 13. april 2014. The other days i will probably explore lifts in London. Please let me know what you think
amazing!
I love your video of the classic dc10 and the music it sounds like ha ha
OMG!!!ONE OF MY FAVORITE PASENGER JET!!
wow must have been awesome, your a very lucky man
Nice viedeo
I miss those DC-10'S. They were a good non-rev plane. They had 30 seats in first class on AA and
Most troubled airplane in aviation history if you check!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@@m7floyd
@@m7floyd LOL! DC-10/MD-11 outsold L1011 by more than 2 to 1, tell me some more about that "troubled airplane"
Potholes on taxiway and wooden frames in c/p!?! Love it :D
Old is Gold.....
Beauty with age.....
hey, i enjoyed your trip and all the detailed filming of this wonderful bird..
Sadly they`re retired meanwhile & replaced by B 777s.
love the growl of the cf6s
❤❤❤❤love Biman Bangladeshi DC 10. Truly historic airplane and great airline 🙏👽😎🙂❤
The sounds that plane makes, it sounds like there is air leaking out of every door, every crack, every window..... I love it lol
30+ old plane. Analog instruments. We salute you
Nice chat by the pilots there. :)
Amazing video! (Ha-ha, checking out the lavatory was the most exciting part). Did the plane hit really hard on landing or you were not holding the cam fast enough?
FMC, some modern instruments.... why not? The DC-10 is a great plane, only a little bit thirsty for the modern time, but it is a great workhorse! Great video!
Do you have any idea what that instrument is to the left of the airspeed indicator .. I have seen it before on an Iranian 727 ..looks like a mini HSI or somethin.
You mean the instrument right of the gearlever? I think it shows the route of the FMC. No other instrument who could visualize the route programmed in the FMC near by. I can see none.
sabo2706 Yeah, bout the same shape and size as the TCAS instrument, also appears to show terrain as well.. Love one of them for flightsim and my 727 haha :).
Dhaka traveling is amazing
Damn that was a hard landing!
What is that beautiful and uplifting piece of music between 14:15 and 16:51? Like I say, it's beautiful and uplifting!!!
The Captain's name is Istiaque Hussain Sajjad his father also was a Biman 707 captain his name was late Captain Makdum Hussain .
Im glad bro is still alive.
wow that plane had a lot of flights. what's amazing to is they never upgraded the interiors. still the same from first install.
curious.. mr heritage elevators, what is your line of work? elevators, lots of elevator vids, but you also have a second love for commercial aviation?
thank you for this video.. really enjoyed it. and, the start of the video, that music was taken from some queen's video of his love for Pan Am and their 747.
Minha nossa... que aeronave suja!
Holy crap ... that dirty aircraft!
Nice video
That was an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing Alexander :)
What's the title of the first funky track btw?
Seems like you already found it. Peanut Vendor by Ritchie Family :)
Here's the version i used: The Ritchie Family - Peanut Vendor-Frenesi-Brazil Medley (1975)
great and you are lucky
To fly such a "vintage" aircraft must take plenty of bravery! :-)
Robert Chutney Hunny these vintage birds will be still flying and reliable long after these modern unflyable computerised planes, where real flying talent is not required all pilots do now is push buttons, they don't fly a plan anymore and that is very very very scary.
I flew via Biman in 83-84 from Heathrow to Dhaka. Great flight. Picked up passengers at Munchen and Rome and got another Tandori chicken meal each time. Flight attendants put on a great safety demonstration show. Arrivals terminal area had lightweight moveable seats for about 25 people to sit and wait.
We use brillo pads on the glass. Cracks in a window that is pressurized is really dangerous, These people must be brave or ignorant. But hey that is just me, keep them flying and your videos are like going back in time, glad that there these planes flying somewhere in the world.
Summer of 69 (from min.2:21 on.) Probably that's the year this DC10 was built😅. But I really love both the song and the plane
DC-10 named "New Era" is the plane that completed the last Biman's DC-10 flight
Wow that never happens to me, thanks for the video. Was that an aircraft boneyard off to the right of the taxiway? There were a bunch of DC-9s, DC-10s and a few 747s, that did not look as if they were parked temporally.
+SJ Bobkins There was an L1011, too I think.
that sure IS the aircraft boneyard of the Dhaka international airport ! LOL ! you got it
Mike Niebauer It was
4:05 MIAT Mongolian Airlines 767 Wet-lease for Biman during the winter since demands for Berlin-Ulanbaatar flights go down, one of the 767ers goes for Wet-lease (the newest one remains in MIAT op with new seatings and IFE, the older preowned 767 is for lease with old cabin layout and seats)
Now imagine watching this during 2k23. A true time capsule indeed!
super rate of climb for big old trijet!
that bangladesh biman was awsome
