Ditto. I must be getting old or something because I can't fathom why anyone would consider this insanely good song a "Guilty Pleasure"

@@TritoneChris - The only guilt I have is that there's never been anyone I've felt that way about.

One advantage of being old is having had this music in my youth... Still the One was a hit in 1976 when I was in high school. It's a joy to see new generations of music listeners discover what real music sounds like...yes I said REAL MUSIC....not that god awful crap of today... OK now get off my lawn you young punks 🤬😂🤣

I've been to multiple weddings where the DJ will work the crowd of married couples to find the one that's been together the longest and gives them the dance floor all to themselves while this is playing.

The song cooks right off the top! I enjoy the harmony guitar lines and their vocal harmonies make you want to sing along. Lead vocal is pure gold. Great arrangement!

That was good summer, as I recall. My cousin and I would cruise around the town in his freshly waxed white 1960 Chevy Impala 2-door (no post) singing along with "Still the One" at the top of our lungs.
When it first charted, a lot of listeners thought they were hearing the new one from Elvin Bishop.

As always, I find myself with a big smile watching your videos. Glad to see that music brings you so much joy! The group's name is pronounced or-LEENS and they had a few hits in the mid to late 70s. Beside this song, they also had Dance With Me and Love Takes Time. After their album with this song, guitarist John Hall left the band and formed the John Hall Band and had a moderate hit with Crazy. He later went on to become a Democratic US congressman from New York. Unfortunately, their lead vocalist, Larry Hoppen, committed suicide in 2012.

And once again I am grateful that someone considered this a guilty pleasure, if that is what it took for you to react to it, but this is just a terrific song and I have never felt the slightest bit of guilt listening to it! Also, I just thought of another couple of songs for your long list of songs to get to (not a guilty pleasure). Please add "Operator" by Jim Croce and "Sylvia's Mother" by Doctor Hook!! One of my happiest moments with my daughter. We had just moved up to Alaska it was our first night in the new place and we had the radio on as we were making our first dinner, dancing about the kitchen as we each prepped part of the dinner. Another great Guilty Pleasure Song - "Believe It Or Not" by Joey Scarbury - czcams.com/video/CcGQhm9vJw0/video.html
It's one of the few songs that started out as the theme song for a tv show (80s show "The Greatest American Hero" - average teacher is given by aliens a suit with superhero powers, but loses the instruction manual), but actually be so popular that it begins to chart on its own (made it to #2 on Billboard Hot 100).
It's got that perfect amount of 80s cheesiness to it.
It's mostly forgotten about, but will occasionally pop up as a random reference (most famously on Seinfeld, but has also been on Family Guy and was in the new Ryan Reynolds movie 'Free Guy').
When I was in Jr High, I went to a summer camp where where they had daily games & competitions, and this was the song they'd always play when announcing that days MVP award - so it definitely has strong Guilty Pleasure/Nostalgia vibes for me.
