- Here's some Big Waves at Anchorsholme | Blackpool at High Tide for you today. Filmed at the end of March while the winds were rough and the tide high.
Not as big waves as they can get by any means, but really big waves at Anchorsholme are dangerous and certainly not the kind of weather we're going to stand and film in! Blackpool at high tide is amazing. Anchorsholme is at North Shore so you can look south along the coastline to see the waves crashing against the cliffs at Bispham.

Anchorsholme is the last stop at Blackpool seafront, where it meets Cleveleys. There's seafront parking and great access to the beach. Make a visit and enjoy it.

Dashed sprightly waves there; stirring footage and a thrill to watch!
All of which reminded me that the extra inches around my waist due to shielding comfort food mean that I shall have to purchase a larger wet suit if I am going to be surfing those waves at the end of lockdown. Riding the big ones and catching a tubular - hanging ten while the landlubbers are getting aqua boots!!!!!!

Just seen a very interesting video you did Jane, about the planned sea defences from Little Bispham down to Red Bank Road, in April 22. I'm putting the comments here because sometimes when I come across your videos, the like and comments sections are not available. The Fylde Coast is so lucky to get such huge amounts of money on sea defences. Almost two years on that work you mentioned still haven't started. When they do complete the work I hope it will be as nice as Cleveleys. Saying that my favourite place in Blackpool is Bispham Station, the highest point on the Fylde Coast especially on clear days. I love looking at the Lake District mountains and the Hoad Monument through my binoculars.
Am I right in thinking as well as the £62 million for North Shore they got another £62 million to upgrade the sea defences along the Golden Mile? If only the people of Happisburgh and Hemsby in Norfolk got a fraction of this money. It is so sad seeing their houses and acres of land being lost to the sea. I also see with sadness that Walney Island in Barrow in Furness is also suffering coastal erosion and also East Yorkshire.
I do love wave watching but the waves I enjoy watching are causing such damage around the country. Thank you for your very interesting videos Jane Xxx
