It was a write off but in Pennsylvania you can opt to keep the car and take a lesser payout. I was offered $10,000 and they keep the car or $7,000 and I keep the car. I took the $7000 and got it re-titled as a salvage car and I'm still driving it so it ended up being a good thing actually!

It still looks like a golf ball but drives great. It cost about $700 to get it to pass inspection so I pocketed $6300. :-)
