My partner and I watched the redo healer anime with no idea what it was about aside from revenge. They wondered what the uncensored version was all about and we watched the first episode.
We quickly learned this was a hentai.
And we formed the strongest bond you can have with a person.
A trauma bond.
The funny thing is that the story of redo is pretty good, but they forced sex scenes upon you every 5-10 mins which was a turn off. . . We got it after the first 3 episodes, you didn't need to keep going with it you can just imply it at that point and continue the story.

Of those that I have read and watched, most generally do want to go home, and if they do actually go back home, it's usually after they became the next messiah and deleted all of their problems from existence using their newly acquired powers, which may or may not include time-travel.
When it comes to those who don't want to go home, they end up falling into one of a few categories:
1. They have been reincarnated and enjoy living in the world they now found themselves in (Knight's & Magic/In A New World With A Smartphone/Magician's Grandson)
2. They are ambivalent about their situation (The Lazy King/The Lazy Dungeon Master)
2. While in this new world they have different priorities, which range from opening up a pet shop to getting revenge: (Kemeno Michi/The Death Mage Who Does Not Want a Fourth Time/ I'm A Villager, So What?/Nidome no Yuusha)

Its not even just a hentai artist. Its a hentai artist who's got some sort of vendetta against someone, and projecting that in his work. There's a few artists like that in the scene and it makes people go: "damn dude, are you ok? this feels like it comes from your heart"

The Hidden Dungeon is the most generic harem anime I have ever seen and I can't stop watching it
At a distance It looks like stale bread left on the counter for several weeks, and yet I’m strangely enticed to try a bite. I haven’t seen a single episode yet but each time I see it my curiosity meter rises.
Same, I keep thinking of low effort ways to min/max the lp system. You could probably farm tons by just being a disgusting neet for a month then spending them on op skills.

Actually, it may be worse than Arifureta, which I wasn't sure was possible.
The character hips have a clipping issue caused by incorrect weight painting, meaning they used automatic weights and little to no supporting bones.
On any other Hottest Trash video, I'd probably ask you to clarify which anime you were talking about.

What's weird is that this studio also made K which had a similar art style but much better and that came out before handshakers.
@@Bogglemanify Yeah, when I first saw Geoff’s video on Handshakers I knew it had to be from the same studio. Gotta be honest, was never crazy about the rainbow filter they used, and Handshakers uses a lot of 3D that K just didn’t and as much as I don’t like what they’re going for, yeah, I can’t help but applaud at their attempt. A lot of people would’ve given up. Also, it has been a while but in any case, they never used that crazy amount of 3D in K though I’ll admit I skipped season 2 entirely and don’t know how it looked except for some awfully funny fanservice shots.

God I wish my healer characters in video games had the same """healing""" abilities: Heal: transmogriphy! Heal: Teleport! Heal: Steal XP! Heal: Summon Ifrit! Heal: Meteor Shower! Hear: Mass Paralysis! Heal: Take control of game Servers & Rewrite game code & base stats...
When he heals, he experiences their life and thus gains XP and skills from people. He doesn't have to heal to activate his alchemy abilities to turn people to mush, he does it to gain their power prior to their death.
The show has a lot of holes and its not a great story (although the redo premise is interesting). However, its explained his healing is less 'healing' and more 'creation'. The old man in episode 2 flat out says normal healing only accelerates what the body can do normally. Them justifying xp level caps and having sex is nonsense straight out of fate/stay night though.
@@Ergeniz Level caps can make sense and the whole sex thing, well in RPGs you can get XP for all sorts of things. Having sex with a higher level character could be mechanically equivalent to defeating a higher level monster. And therefore provide a boost. And it seems the Heroes are the only one's capable of growing to combat Demon Lord's, so if there are caps it make sense having sex with them would increase said cap.

And speaking of Crunchyroll Originals, the less said about _High Guardian Spice,_ the better.
@@azoth6641 What I find interesting about Ex-arm is that there's obviously *someone* who knows what they are doing in there. It's just that literally no one else does. Some of the shots and stuff are actually composed kind of well, it's just that they have no way of actually bringing that composition to life and instead has to use the equivalent of crayon drawings.

I love the way that Geoff beats a metaphor to death, then resurrects it, then pummels it back to death with merely his heartbeat.
I feel the need to point out something with some interesting implications.
Redo of Healer is getting a side story/variant/Another Side type entry to the franchise, based on the idea that when Kearu/Keyaru/Keare healed the world to go back in time...
It actually healed the world and people are less shit- or landed in an alternate timeline where they were never shit. It's a bit hard to figure out, but either way, it means that, unable to justify his revenge, the Healer instead... opens a Café.

I generally prefer people explaining why things are good over explaining why they're bad, but I certainly won't turn down the occasional roast.
Canipa Effect did a Studio Spotlight video on Ex-Arm, and honestly speaking, *_everyone_* on the production team are skilled in their respective fields. The only problem is that *_none_* of them were working at their specialties, and were way out of their depth when working on Ex-Arm.
It’s actually pretty tragic. :(

You know, It would be kinda cool if a "The entire world is obsessed with this one magic toy" anime delved into the capitalist implications that came with the premise. Like, what about the other smaller games that got beat out by that one toy and the fans of that toy started a rebellion using the failed competitor and adjusting them to fit with the rules of the world owning toy/game? I'd watch that.
Also recovering life/health points via self care sounds actually sounds pretty wholesome, minus the boob part. Like a gifted mage who's constantly crafting powerful new spells, but they use up health/mana points a lot, and also going on tons of quests and errands for you fellow guild members because you're terrified of being a burden, but they heal by taking a break and doing things they enjoy. It'd also be a neat justification for getting healed by sleeping.
Yugioh did that, they had dungeon dice in universe, and Kaiba is literally so rich from card games that he has a card game shaped personal jet

Its literally the more hardcore version of goblin slayer(but without goblins either). As much as the people who hate it won’t keep quiet, it’s support is still larger than those who hate it.

as other people pointed,he did use his skill to try and become immune to the headaches, it lower the effect but not get rid of it , it is described as headache but could be something else , headache is the symptom not the cause.

@@lostnemesis Yeah, that has to suck. I checked out the manga and despite the story being pretty basic, the art is really good. Under an actual anime studio, this would've been fairly well received.
My sister and I tried to watch for fun but had to stop because I was in physical pain from laughing so hard. We didn't make it past episode one. Definitely feel sorry for the fans of the manga, I didn't think it was possible to butcher something so bad.
It looks worst then reboot and that show was is the 90's. Technically the Ex-Arm models can look nice when they are not animated and the mix of 2D AND 3D just don't mix is hard to do well already even for, I can't even tell if it has an art style it going for. It bad to max lvl.

K, here's the scenario: You are a princess/ mage/ hero and someone you need in their party refuses to use their healing power because it gives the PTSD. Do you:
A) Develop a positive personal relationship with the healer, turning into the rock he can lean on and trust (Nice romantic subplot, could sell some figurines)
B) Order a False Flag assault against his home village and blame it on the BBEG in hopes that his need for revenge outweighs his mental trauma (Could set up for a nice plot twist mid series. Good Drama.)
C) Leave him behind. Dead weight is worse that no weight (Not the most interesting, the most logical.)

Keyaru’s basic healing doesn’t require skill, he was perfectly capable of healing while cripplingly addicted and high.
He was also so incredibly addicted and broken that he couldn’t feel hate, he only wanted his drug.
There’s a lot wrong about Redo of a Healer but in the context of the world, having him as the healer of the group and drugging him isn’t as stupid as it would be otherwise.
I actually was interested in redo at the start, i was expecting the story to be about a long journey where the hero gets more and more psychotic until he forgets his revenge and just starts killing everybody, and then i snaped back to reality and remembered what kinda anime i was whatching
Also another idea i had for the story was that the main character would have to learn the meaning of being a hero and come to terms with his power, something like "a hero helps everyone around him, no matter how much it hurts"

OGRE is clearly just a Machinima of Master Chief because I swear to God, they're ripping off the strafing animation, and the whole "berserk mode" thing is lifted straight from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Then, the whole robot lesbian kissing for superpowers BS is a VASTLY watered down version of Ghost in the Shell's robot yuri spin-off Pandora in the Crimson Shell. In fact, so is the main character being just a brain in a titanium shell, although granted, that's also from GITS to start with.

Redo of Healer is like a Rob Zombie movie where everyone is an evil carney, the story isn't interesting and they wrote the thing on the same day, after using a trash can full of coke.

He buys a young girl who had been enslaved because he can't attack and needs someone to finish off monsters. He treats her well and takes on a caregiver role and eventually frees her. Honestly this is the 1 questionable thing that he does and its akin to free blacks buying their loved ones out of slavery and thus officially becoming their owners.

You know you hit a threshold when you're being judged for anime war crimes.
I said this the moment I saw Ex: Arm for the first time - it is *THE ROOM* of anime! It is TRANSCENDENTLY awful! This is an anime where characters cease existing then exist again but in totally different locations between cuts. This is a show where you can make a drinking game with your friends, but you have to take a sip every 5 times you notice a blatant shortcut where they reused a clip from later IN THE SAME EPISODE to fill time even though it makes no sense in context, because you'll be noticing this so often. It constantly resorts to stupid smoke filters or motion blur to cover the fact that they didn't bother to put textures on the airplane or animate the robot that's supposed to be punching, so they just zoom in on the fist really fast with shakey cam. That's when they aren't - I KID YOU NOT - zooming in on their own works to just show a face so zoomed-in upon that they left the 3D MODEL blurry and pixelated even though they could have done a reshoot at any time, almost certainly because they didn't finish whatever background or action was supposed to be going on in the scene, so it's just a zoom-in of a character's face for 10 seconds while sound effects happen. This is worse because they have NO IDEA how to animate a character's facial expression, so the main girl has this same stupid monkey-like grin on at all times, even when she's screaming in terror. The second-in-command woman has such a vacant thousand-mile-stare that she looks like an inflatable sex doll. This is a show with a plot so half-baked they have a scientist character just to do technobabble, but they didn't even bother coming up with an excuse for anything or even giving the villains ANY MOTIVATION for their terrorist acts, so they just don't use her for anything at all. It's so much worse than its "animation" looks. This is the worst anime ever made on a holistic level, as they've failed on every possible front on the most basic, fundamental levels of editing and filmcraft and you ABSOLUTELY need to see this with all your friends and a big bucket of popcorn so you can give it the MST3K roasting it was DESTINED to become!

The Ex-Arm version of that (and I mean, they HAD to be deliberately trying to reference The Matrix, because they're DECLARING WAR ON SF, presumably in the sense of "trying to make the whole idea of science fiction so unpalatable that nobody will watch sci-fi again") is that after getting control of Alma for the first time and being really uncoordinated controlling a killbot, Alma gets him to have instant mastery of controlling a combat robot's body and using kung fu moves he doesn't know simply by telling him "Have you ever watched Kung fu movies? Just be like that." BAM, suddenly he knows both how to control a kill-droid AND Kung-fu just because he watched a kung-fu movie once. Yes, they give THAT little of a shit about making the plot make sense! That sounds exactly like something a satire would do, I know, but, but they seriously act like this is supposed to make the protag-kun look not just cool, but like this random kid is somehow better than the "elite cyborg team from the future" he's forced to be a part of.

Absolutely will refuse to recommend redo of healer to anyone unless they're genuinely numb to rape scenes. I went into that one blind and couldn't stomach it and it actually fucked me up for a few days just watching one episode. I like my hentai and ecchi shows but as a female viewer, it doesn't matter if what she did to him was horrible, the whole anime is just a rape fantasy trauma topia that didn't need to be made at all. The MC could have easily just not have had anything to do with her after getting the flashback and been a normal hero with some more fun ecchi in there with consent. I don't even know why I finished the one episode. I guess I was just too shell shocked to turn it off :/
I mean, I have seen worse hentai and fine with it, but that's only because I know that the rapists are portrayed as absolute bastards that are not meant to be sympathized with, and their victims do not take pleasure in taking their revenge on them if they do. The only reason why this show doesn't sit well with me is that how the writer is trying so hard to make the MC the "sympathetic" one to justify his actions, even if it's clear that he's just a psychopath(before anyone goes at me, I'll say that I read glimpses of the LN so I know what I'm talking about). Even more disturbing is that there are people who think psychopathy is a "good" thing to be "idolized".
I mean the plot is pretty good and original. Protagonist actually has personality, doesn’t refuse to kill, isnt overnice, no virgin white knight personality, and actually isn’t a dense dumbass. Which is probably why I genuinely enjoyed redo healer. If the anime was trying to avoid the revenge plot it would probably end up being another generic harem anime with cliched ecchi scenes. Guess I’m one of the rare people numb to rape scenes.

The problem with writing the revenge-rape fantasy anime off as "this is actually hentai and there's worse in hentai" is that it's hanging out on the sofa in mainstream anime's house. If nothing is done to chase it out of the house, it's going to start inviting its friends over (normalizing its contents). Eventually, we're going to be left wondering why the house is now full of hentai or pseudo-hentai focused on vile or degrading premises.
This kind of stuff doesn't deserve to have potential viewers routed to it, even ironic viewers.

I've been running a timer on every episode of Ex-Arm. The timer is only active when 1. Nothing is happening on screen. Like, literally, there's no movement/animation 2. Footage is being re-used from a previous episode. and 3. Whenever the show goes far out of its way to avoid animating something. (characters mouths constantly being obscured when they talk, etc). At least one episode, not counting the opening, had 11 minutes of footage that was re-used/nothing

Redo of healer made me think of infamous psychological experiments like the Milgrom test (will you apply electrical shocks to someone, potentially killing them, so long as someone in authority tells you to do so). The main character does terrible, evil, disgusting things (want to see what grooming a child looks like) and yet by placing him as the main character fighting completely evil villains we're supposed to identify with and cheer for the terrible things he does. Makes for a f---ed up watching experience.
Here's my top trash from Winter 2021:
1. Ex-ARM: take a studio with no anime experience, a director with no anime experience, and Crunchyroll's corporate credit card...
2. High Rise Invasion : For that sweet, sweet early 00s edgelord feeling
3. Gekidol : I don't think this show knew what it wanted to be
4. Vlad Love : This had some comedy gold moments, but it didn't always hit the mark in its execution, and quickly ran out of ways to tell the same 4 jokes.
5. Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter : For yeah, formulaic ecchi that never really goes full High School DxD or even Demon King Daimao.
Call me crazy but I actually enjoy the dungeon one. It’s like “is it okay to pick up girls in a dungeon?” But the mc actually picks up girls

That doesn't mean slight harem elements cannot be included in a good show (like Stein's gate, or Bunny girl senpai), but the genre in itself is bad, and almost make it impossible to create a good and meaningful story.

3:20 I take issue with this statement. The issue was not that they are "film and game guys", but rather that those specific individuals had no animation experience. Many game development studios, in particular, have enormous experience at GC animation. Much more so than most anime studios do.
I think my favorite trash of the season is a redo of healer. The level of cartoonish evil involved is just astonishing, there is no point in condoning or rejecting the actions of the MC. I merely watch on and say "THEY LIVE IN A SOCIETY"
I feel bad for the creator of the manga behind EX. The art looks decent but it’s named has been dragged through the mud because of its adaptation. Berserk was already a well-known manga and had a watchable adaptation before the CG series butchered it.
I have to question just how good it could have been to start with, however. I mean, it's certainly possible that the director is just SO BAD that they forgot to put any of the actual plot in the story, so the manga versions of the terrorists actually DID have a motivation but nobody told the anime guys, for a start, but even at best, I have to look at the decision to make Akira getting authorization to hack things (something he could do in the first episode WITHOUT needing to do this) require the lesbot and girl cop kiss is so LUDICROUSLY contrived that it couldn't have come from anything but the manga to start with and that just puts us in Pandora in the Crimson Shell territory. And Pandora in the Crimson Shell did the whole "brain in a armored box that hacks stuff while also hanging our core concept on robotgirl kisses" thing WAAAAY better than Ex-Arm ever even hopes to, and it was a DELIBERATELY goofball story. Basically, I can only presume it was trying to DECLARE WAR ON Ghost in the Shell, and wound up being Pandora in the Crimson Shell: the shit version even in the manga version BEFORE the supposed "anime guys" burned every last scrap of potential straight through the ground.
I read Ex it wasn't a story for me but it was pretty good and then I watched a video showing a quote from the studio that was making it saying they don't believe in storyboards and I felt so sorry for the people who are looking forward to it
@@lostnemesis Saying they don't believe in storyboards kind of makes sense, considering as this show has just jaw-dropping holes in continuity. From something like a shot where they zoom the camera around a robot to show that it's surrounded by dog robots that are all teleported away, then Kondo and Other Guy are firing rifles vaguely somewhere off-camera for some reason while standing in front of a wall. Then there's a shaky cam and a motion lines filter put on the screen while it zooms in on the immobile arm of the robot. Then it cuts to Alma teleporting in front of the robot where she wasn't there before and there should be parts from those dog robots instead, but she gets nudged by what little they can animate of the robot moving its arm, so Alma goes flying like she's a helium balloon. Then, it cuts to Kondo and Other Guy looking up as Alma veeery slooowly floats over them as they are now hiding behind an overturned car in the middle of the street for some reason. Then they have a scene where Akira sends more dog robots after the big robot even though he doesn't hack those dog robots until later in the episode where that exact same scene gets reused frame-for-frame IN THE SAME EPISODE.
I mean, I'm not saying the manga was this awful, just that it was a normal kind of generic sci-fi stuff that probably didn't think its concepts through nearly enough and covered it up with cheesecake to keep the kids who hadn't read Ghost in the Shell or Pandora in the Crimson shell before to know where it's ripping off all its material. It's only absolutely everything about the anime being awful that manages to make it go from mere trash to such an absolute flaming everything wreck that it somehow transforms into a Dadaist piece of anti-art art.
It's also, hilariously, given top billing on Crunchyroll as a "Crunchyroll Exclusive". You know, like they paid EXTRA to get this just on Crunchyroll, thinking it would be a blockbuster. It was even put in the carousel of shows on the front page of Crunchyroll where it featured alongside them bragging that they've got the entire original run of Gundam up on Crunchyroll now or new seasons of big-name anime. They thought this was going to be a hit. It wasn't even just for the first week, this was week 4, after the 1.4 stars average reviews had been coming in for weeks, it was still up on the front page being advertised as "ONLY ON CRUNCHROLL"!
