If you think this battle was kinda short, keep in mind: according to the comic versions, the ONLY reason this battle was THIS LONG can only be justified on account Omni-Man wanted to make Homelander feel absolutely hopeless, toying with him and making him realize how severly outmatched he was, after Homelander DARED to kill Debbie (Omni-Man's wife) and challenge him.
As SOON as Homelander brought up Omni-Man's son Mark, the battle went pretty much like everyone was expecting it to go: ended right then and there.
THAT is how much the difference between them is.

The funny thing about the super scream, they actually needed to nerf Omniman to make it viable.
Viltrumites are weak to a *specific* audio frequency, not the actual decibel level of the scream. Homelander would have no way of finding the necessary frequency - let alone matching it with his vocal cords alone.
Mark (Nolan’s son and main protagonist of Invincible) needed to have a small mechanical implant put into his ear in order to have his vestibular system take damage.
They gave Homelander an advantage by having his scream automatically match the frequency necessary to induce damage. Omniman is just that much stronger than him.
As even more supporting evidence for this, Queen Maeve (who was right in front of Homelander) didn’t seem particularly affected by the yell, and we’ve seen Nolan create sonic booms without any discomfort.

He couldn’t, as it was ingrained into his ear by Cecil as a preparation if Invincible went rogue. He didn’t even know it was inside of his ear until Cecil activated the signal to the receiver to throw off his sense of balance. It doubled as a communication device for when Cecil needed to get a hold of him, hence his lack of worry information regard to it being a weapon.
He needed Robot to get the implant out of his ear surgically. Robot himself would later abuse this weakness by the injecting Invincible with this implant and sending him off to another dimension in order to stop him from preventing Robot (now named Rex) from taking over Earth. He even killed an alternate universe Invincible with this technique.

He eventually got the implant permanently removed. Robot was the only character with the necessary intelligence to not only find the frequency, recreate the device necessary and improve upon it to exploit this weakness.
By the end of the series, Mark is perfectly fine and anyone who knows about this weakness is incapacitated or dead.
It’s a Viltrumite weakness as opposed to one specifically tailored to him. So any Viltrumite would reasonably suffer the same effects, albeit with varying consistency depending on age.

This might very well be one of the most one sided stomps in DB history and I don't think anyone's complaining about it, Homelander was so vastly outmatched that even with his scream "advantage" (which doesn't actually work since it needs to be a specific frequency and not just a loud noise) there was quite literally nothing he could do. Nolan could have one shot him in a fraction of a second if he really wanted to but having him drag out the fight and make Homelander pay for killing Debbie was pretty in character for him (he does actually love Debbie he just has thousands of years of Viltrumite programming to work through).
Technically there were more one-sided fights (Weiss Vs Mitsuru is another example). But this was the most obvious just due to how popular these combatants and there series were.

@@dankmagician7108 There’s too many one sided Death Battles to list, people just forget easily. Off the top of my head; Storm vs Korra, Flash vs Quicksilver, this upcoming match (Magneto vs Tetsuo) Dr. Fate vs Dr.Strange, Shadow vs Vegeta, Thor vs Raiden (Mortal Kombat), Venom vs Bane, etc.
The worst one for me will always be Quicksilver vs Flash, they pitted a street tier speedster with, at best, faster than light speed feats and no other abilities vs a Multiversal speedster with a shit ton of hax and abilities with incalculable and irrelevant speed feats, lmao.
Take this loss as a learning experience, Kyle. Having access to an enemy’s key weakness doesn’t guarantee victory if they have better stats. It’s like Pokémon; Water might beat fire, but a level 1 Squirtle isn’t going to win against a level 100 Charizard.
Also, fun fact about this fight: The song composed for it (Diabolically Invincible Me) was actually cut in half for the episode because the fight was so short. Look up the full version and you’ll see it has a whole second verse that went unused.

Out of all the matchups for the correct win streak to end on, it had to end on the episode that literally everyone knew what was a stomp.

Omni Man is billions of times stronger and millions of times faster. A varied arsenal of abilities doesnt matter against the guy who can nuke you before you can use any of them.
This is a case where comparing physical feats alone is all you need to come to the conclusion, and that counters aren't instant win buttons.
Besides, all that screaming does is mess with Omni Man's flight, he's still stronger and faster.

I'd definitely really recommend these shows.
I do wish you'd have gone into invincible not knowing what kind of person Nolan is, but its fine, I went in like that to and the show was still amazing.

Basically, Omni-Man discovered during his fight with Invincible that he’d ended up with human emotions too… he couldn’t go through with it, so he fled the planet and essentially went rogue.
They kinda misrepresented the ear thing. Homelander blew people's eardrums with raw volume. Nolan and Mark suffer from a particular high-pitched frequency. If it was simple sound, all the explosions, gunshots, and fighting wound have done the same.
Even then, Mark and Nolan both possessed the willpower to push through the frequency on occasion.

They got really just one detail wrong. Omni Man doesn't see his wife as a BROOD MARE, he sees her as a pet.
The difference is substantial, actually. Think of how people view their own pets.
An owner can adore their dog, lavish it with love and attention then it dies before they turn 20, they're sad for a bit then they get over it and get another dog.
Nolan will live countless centuries longer than his incredibly fragile human wife. When your spouse can die at any second by TRIPPING and you can punt asteroids for fun, it really effects your perspective. Especially when that perspective is further influenced by your insane warrior culture.
So Omni man was basically saying "Yeah I do love your mother, but like a pet. I'll be bummed out when she dies, but I'll live for thousands of years afterwards so what's the point of mourning or anything?"
He doesn't see humans even as people. From his perspective they'll all die in the blink of an eye from his lifespan. What's it matter if they die in a measly 80 years or he kills them in 2 seconds?
He basically viewed his wife as his favorite temporary companion.
So, in every sense of the word, she was a pet.
HOWEVER there was never any evidence he was abusive in any way what so ever. Up until mark's powers came in, they were a GREAT family. His powers just flipped the switch of "Ok, Vacation's over, time to get back to work."
So from Nolan's point of view, he's being completely reasonable and he's being EXTREMELY kind.
You should REALLY watch this show, again only 8 episodes.

Anyone dumb enough to think my explaining the GENERAL way having pets works applies to every single individual throughout the world needs to not say anything ever again cause you REALLY annoy us people capable of basic thoughts like the possibility of exceptions and not taking every fucking thing everyone says as some sort of absolute assertion of fact.
OBVIOUSLY I know SOME, keyword SOOOOOME people get EXTREMELY attached to their pets to the point they put them on an unrealistic pedestal which of course means when that pet dies due to its dramatically shorter life span it creates a catastrophic emotional impact on that person. I'm aware of this severely unhealthy practice because I have a brain, and eyes and ears, all those senses actually.
Also you're not even saying something different. I'll bet you just go about your days as if they never existed, then when something REMINDS you of the pet you acknowledge you miss it and then you carry on with your day. Just like how every other normally healthy person treats pets. As time goes on those instances happen less and less often.
In the case of Omni Man even if he's bummed out his wife is dead for 30 YEARS that's still a drop in the bucket. Humans are to him what dogs are to humans. And not the creepy humans that obsess over dogs like they're some kinda of higher beings.

stillman has no superpowers or special weapons or training or anything of the sort. he is simply a regular person.
why is homelander scared of him? simple: stillman doesn't fear him. homelander can hear a person's heartbeat and tell when they are scared of him. stillman's heartbeat was always calm, even homelander threatened to kill him. and stillman talks down to homelander like a disappointed parent to a child.
Would Homelander be afraid of anyone who doesn't feel fear then? Or is it because this guy *specifically* doesn't fear *him*?

From what little I know of the comics he was smart to be scared.

Invincible is your classic superhero show…with a VERY realistic approach to collateral. MHA is laws, education, and civil rights, this show is all about just how absolutely fucked our world would be with ANYONE with that kind of power. If you ever watch it…yeah…I’d put it in the same wheelhouse as Hellsing’s gore. Soooooo let that sink in.

This felt like one of the most one-sided fights in the series. Definitely not the most one-sided, since nobody compares to Superman, or Mask, but it was also a really good matchup. Despite it feeling one-sided, it was still really satisfying.
Deadpool vs Deathstroke was another that was over as soon as the matchup was announced
I know this isn't that important but i assume they somehow chose for Christmas decoration to appear most of the time so I'm sure the fight happened to be at Christmas.
But yeah once again that's the least important detail 😁
The end of this fight was jaw dropping.
Ngl as good as this battle was in terms of... pretty much everything, I feel like that million extra views came from a lot of people really, REALLY wanting to see Homelander eat shit. I dont think you understand how completely vile and detestable this character is especially in the comics, where he murders people for doing basically nothing as well as some other stuff that... I honestly don't feel comfortable talking about.
Also the battle track is called Diabolical Invincible Me. It's another Brandon Yates track and I really love it. All his music is on his YT.

The biggest L I've ever seen, considering how EVERYONE immediately knew when this episode was announced that Omni-Man UTTERLY DESTROYS Homelander, no sweat.

The only reason I even watched this Death Battle was to watch Homelander be brutally murdered. He had no chance. None at all.
Tetsuo is a character from the 1988 anime movie Akira. I'd recommend seeing if you can watch it before the fight. It's pretty good.
Yeah as several people have pointed out this match was a complete wash in Omniman's favor. Homelander stood no chance here. As for the next time, Magneto is a villain from Marvel, he's an Omega level mutant (can wipe out life on Earth) with the ability to control magnetism. His opponent Tetsuo is from the classic anime movie/manga Akira, he has telekinetic powers. I'm not too familiar with these two or their connections but it has been a confirmed match for a while apparently.

Marvel Character: Magneto
Known by many names, Erik Magnus Lehnsherr is a powerful mutant willing to go to any extreme to protect his species as Magneto, the master of magnetism. During his youth, he suffered atrocities at the hands of the Nazis in Auschwitz. (a Nazi concentration camp were 1.1 million people died). Fearing Mutants would hunted down like Jews and minorities before and during World War II, he ended up standing opposite to Charles Xavier (founder of the X-Men who believed in human-mutant coexistence).
He controls magnetism and electromagnetism, and is resistant to telepathy. He can do things like manipulate iron in a person's blood, rip the adamantium out of Wolverine threw his pores, and altering the planet's magnetic field. He's also a Genius!
He's been a Hero and Villain, but always puts mutant-kind first.
Tetsuo.(from Akira anime film)
Tetsuo is a motorcycle punk from a futuristic Tokyo and harbored resentment against the gang's leader and his orphanage friend Kaneda. His life changed when he encountered an escaped subject from a government psychic research project. It awoke his own psychic powers and he went mad with power, not helped by his addiction to drugs he used to medicate himself. He caused destruction and eventually his own powers consumed him. The others had to summon another super-psychic Akira from the afterlife to take Tetsuo before he could become a Big Bang.
He possess limited psychic mind reading, telekinesis strong enough to turn people into paste and shatter tanks. He can also fly, (fast enough to reach a satellite in space), teleport, and create barriers. After losing a arm he created a prosthetic from random junk, but when his powers went out of control it became a Lovecraftian flesh tentacle arm.
K'9999 from King of Fighters was based on this guy.

If you remember in The Boys. Homelander himself said that he can’t even land a plane. That’s the most basic Superman thing to do and he doesn’t even have the strength to do that.

Oh that's not a strength thing. Superman, and other individuals with Super strength, have a secondary power that allows them to maintain the structural integrity whatever they're holding, grabbing, or lifting. This is why Superman, for example, can hold up an entire falling building. Realistically, the rest of the building should collapse around him while the one-point he's holding would still be in his hands.
Going back to Homelander and the plane, because he doesn't have that power, there's nothing to distribute the force of his strength while maintaining the the airplane's structural integrity. To put it simply, he'd piece through the airplane's hull like a bullet (or like Mark/Invincible when his dad held him in front of an oncoming train).
Of course, none of that would have prevented him from being absolutely massacred by Omni-man 😂😂
@@lucariomew365 Probably could have held the plane by a wheel. That is strong enough to take a large potion of the aircraft's weight. Of course, Homelander just didn't want to save the plane, so there's that.
Magneto is marvel, not dc, and is quite literally one of the best villain/anti-heroes of all time.
Seriously, watch xmen the animated series and look up whatever you can about him from the comics.
A holocaust survivor, who gained the mutant power of magneticism and used that power to take out his revenge on those who killed his family and used that as fuel to justify his vision for a new world order of wiping out all of nonmutants.

Omni-Man is from Image comics. Specifically their series Invincible. They’re not as popular as DC or Marvel but they do not shy away from serious subjects. Remember Spawn? Same comic universe. Brutal, visceral stuff are pretty common. Believe it or not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a few comics with them and trust me, dismemberment and faces getting burned off are shown in their full glory.
Viltrumites have a flat out insane healing factor. If you don't kill them outright, they'll recover.

Invincible (show with Omniman) is a series that is on amazon prime by the way. Same with "The Boys" (show with Homelander) actually, both amazon prime originals. The comic that the Invincible series is based on is published by Image comics I think (same people who created Spawn, and Witchblade (I think)).

Invincible was published by Image Comics, who's the 3rd largest Comic book publisher in the US (compared to DC and Marvel), Their whole thing is that Image Comics let's the creators retain the rights to their comics, so Robert Kirkman has full ownership of invincible, Image just published the comic
I like that inflation joke at 1:23. Gave me a good laugh and reminded me of these short comic videos that are hilarious. Specifically "Superman vs the Economy" by Solid jj. That one actually mentions inflation. I recommend checking out those clips even if in your own time. They are pretty funny.
Magneto has been both part of the x-men and a frequent enemy. He is in all of the xmen movies.

In regards to the Merry Christmas line at the end of the battle, if you look at the start of it you'll see that Homelander is wearing a Santa Claus hat, and there's snow outside, plus Christmas decorations such as a wreath and lights inside the house, all implying that the battle takes place at Christmas time, even if the video was released in May.
You should definitely watch Invincible. The second season should be coming out either at the end of this year or sometime next year.
