- Sun political columnist Brian Lilley says lax bail laws set by the Liberals lead to a repeat offender being out on the streets and ended up killing an infant and grandparents on Highway 401 after a liquor store robbery. Chrystia Freeland doesn’t like the finger pointed at the Liberals failures on dealing with crime.

This government never takes responsibility for anything. If the person was already charged with a crime and violated probation they should not be on the streets. Period. If they are not a natural born citizen they should be deported immediately, including having any citizenship, visas or residency immediately revoked. Thanks for covering this. The leniency of the courts does need to be mentioned. When someone shows you they are a criminal multiple times believe them. In this case like in most cases the person who continues to get away with crimes escalates in criminal behavior...deliberately driving down the highway in the wrong direction. Why is it unCanadian to point out antisocial behavior. Are we suppose to consider that the driver had a difficult childhood and the law did what it could to keep him and the public safe?

This is incredibly sad. These parents lost their child and their own parents in this accident, which we all know should never have happened if not for this pro-crime bail system. Freeland is the last person who should be commenting. It is her and JT's policies that created the conditions for this and many other tragic crime outcomes in our cities.
I know of someone who had a picture taken of them will out on bail. 2 dectives flew from Ottawa to Lethbridge to arrest the one who broke bail. She was held for a month before released on bail again.
