With the dog face one if you add desaturated to the negative prompt that will stop those weird colours from happening, also add ugly, deformed etc which helps

Another great vid Matt - I've been using Pika 1.0 since Beta, especially for anime, and results are impressive, except for trains. BTW the "peace sign" you show was actually the "V sign", which is an offensive gesture in the UK, Australia and many other Commonwealth countries - the peace sign has the palm facing outwards - just thought you should know as you have a massive international audience. I'm looking forward to more great vids in the New Year.
i've been using Pika free to generate videos of some midjourney v6 images, and when compared side by side the mj 6 imagery is WAY more detailed and less blurry than the resulting Pika videos. I hope the resolution detail gets better soon for Pika, and in the meantime I'll try out the new controlnet and diffex methods for videos to see what they do. need that movie trailer video look!

People commenting on the cold, this is not really the issue, its just your lighting. Not sure how you set up your lighting but from what it looks like, you must have some front facing, possibly also a top down light + your room ceiling light also contributing to an angular effect, most likely these lights or at least some of them are not diffused. I have a feeling your top down is diffused but its still too bright. You can overcome this by instead of having a center top down, use a left and right diffused umbrella where left is set to white and right is set to preferably blue or purple or at least amber, as well as a down up diffused light set to low white. Keep the front facing circle light. This should 360 your lighting and create a more balanced production.

The new lighting setup is cool, but you really need a soft fill light of some kind Matt! Compared to your previous videos where your face was warm and bright, this set up makes you look sleep deprived to say the least!

I wonder if being trained on video gives the AI an edge in generating single images. It might give the AI a better comprehension of space and how objects can move/interact, which could help prevent it from making nonsensical outputs.

Tried to make a long video, but it doesn't allow to add more when you get to 15 seconds. Next year we'll get a really good model for videos if it's going as fast as image generation.

I've been playing around with Pika for a couple of weeks, and mostly it falls flat on it's face with most generations.
A lot is unusable, some of it is just okay.
You got to roll the dice like a hundred times, before it will generate some one generation that will blow you away.
Maybe I just don't know how to use it, which is true... but that's pretty much true of all AI tools at this point. They are wildly complicated, non-intuitive, and with as steep learning curve, and there is a problem just getting your mind around how to prompt these things, because most of the time it ignores 90% of your prompt.
I can see what is happening now with AI, having seen what it can do, my expectations are now preceding the various models, in other words I have become used to it and now start to see the faults, and as far as I can see the results are not much better than when it first came out, the main issue being continuity and control, every creation has different results, which isnt a great workflow. I find this new pika actually worse in terms of quality, it doesn t seem so advanced as the original, not so believable, maybe ok for cartoons but not for cinematic rendering. Maybe its just my lack of knowledge on this. Anyway thanks for your enthusiasm as usual, great job.

Exposure isn’t really the issue, I have to let the camera auto expose because the lighting changes more often than you’d think in my room
