@Webedunn i got my 1995 cr250, I bought a book and even started translating it into my (polish) language, I remember that they have big problems with start because of carburetor many people got hurt their ankle because of kicking. You have to wait when the bike is cooler, cool it by kicking without glow or adjust a screw in carburetor, I remember there was a list for certain altitude and temperature to unscrew that screw and difference was huge.
I hate honda 4-strokes, but love their 2-strokes. That color red is gorgeous. I'm a Yamaha guy as was my father and as is my son....but there's gonna be a red 2-stroke in the garage this year. Always loved the '89 CR colors but gonna go with the '98 colors like this beauty.
That pinkish, fluorescent red is such a rad color!!🤘🏻wish I could a find ppg basecoat formula/code for it. All the ones I’ve mixed & done test panels with are too dark. Anyways… badass cr500!!
@jenniferwineman1669. The only reason I did was divine intervention! - had many a close call including blasting along one hot summer day in the forest and then riding into a pit of quick sand! - THESE THINGS HAPPEN.
The FMF pipes would crack when they got white hot. The stock pipe rarely does this. It's a good bike but racing downhill with a hairpin turn at the bottom the cr500 does not want to slow down and is overweight and throttle must be chopped when leaving jumps or instant looping out effect. Notice not too many cr500 are used in freestyle motocross.you can win races on a cr500 but you have to work hard to make it happen.
