I have the X-12 and had to use my older iPad (2nd Gen) because the X-Air Mixer app crashes in the new iOS.
I really like this hard wire back up option as well!
We are also using Xvive U4 IEM for backing track queues.
Using the newer iPad Pro to run the tracks - Using a cool app called Show One to manage setlists and tracks

Had my xr18 for less than a year and i’m confused if mixing station is really that much better. Unpopular opinion: i’m honestly really happy with xair edit for ipad. But i know throughout the years theyve lost a following trying to keep up with OS updates. I have both. But never find myself needing to use mixing station. Mixing station is amazing because the layout is the same for my x32 or my x18, which itself is amazing to not have to switch between the apps. But the customization of mixing station is what’s amazing about it. Plus being able to mix the xr18 on my phone instead of an iPad is also a massive plus. Hi Scott: have you ever used a Mackie DL 16 S? How does it compare with the Behringer XR 18 you use? I went to a music store asking for the Behringer but they would not recommend it; instead they recommend the Mackie as waaay better. Those X18's have an extremely poor buildin wifi router. Don't know why Behringer had to cheap out that much on an other wise great product for the price tag. Not sure if the Midas versions is the same problem but all say to set aside some money for an outboard router. Great video cause that's the only problem with these software controlled mixers, if the connection somehow fails your screwed. Can you save full SCENES with Mixing Station on iPad? As I understand it (please someone correct me if I’m wrong), the only way to save SCENES (full mix parameters with unique names that are load-able) with the XR18 is on a laptop, which is why I use my XR18, a laptop and a separate router always hooked to a network switch. This way, if my separate router dies I have the laptop, if the network switch dies I have the onboard WI-FI (and an iPad), so I have a double backup system AND I can save/load scenes for different bands and/or venues with the laptop. If the XR18 dies I have a load-out…
