Haveri Anandavan Ashram, Agadi Chaitra || Shri Shiv Chidambaram Mahaswami || Shri Sheshachal Maharaj

"Agadi" is a small village which is 10 kms away from the town #Haveri, #karnataka . After coming for a kilometer further from Agadi there is an ashram called "#Anandavana. This Anandavana was established in early 1900s (1905 around) by tapaswi "Shri Sheshachal Maharaj"
Shri #Sheshachal #maharaj was an ardent devotee of Shri #chidambaram #mahaswami . Shri Sheshachal Maharaj was punya purusha from his birth which was result of good deeds of his parents and himself in many lives
Shri Sheshachal Maharaj was scholar, tapaswi and learnt all vedas and performed lot of relogious activities/deeds for wellness of people.
An annual celebration of the jayanthi (#birthday ) of Shri Sheshala Sadguru is celebrated for over a week when thousands of people gather to pull the chariot on the 5th(Panchami) day of the Fair
In #1905 when plague spread across widely, Shri Sheshachal Maharaj established a small temple away from Agadi. He brought people here and because of his powers and nitya anusthana people found health and happiness in this place. Anandvana literally means, Forest of #happiness That's how this place was called as Anandavana
Shri Sheshachal Maharaj started a veda #pathashala at this place in early 1900 and thousands of students are trained in veda from here. This samskruta pathashala is still being run by heirs of Shri Sheshachal Maharaj and recently centenary celebrations were also performed
Here prasadam is being prepared in large quantities for the large number of devotees who gathered here to be part of Agadi Chaitra
IN the Chaitra maasa (hindu month of #Chaitra ), the bithday of Shri Sheshachal Maharaj is celebrated as his janmotsava and is famous as "Agadi Chaitra"
Thousands of #devotees ’ throng to this place during this time and take part in pulling of chariot. We are fortunate enough to witness this auspicious event.
After this #prasadam is distributed to all the devotees.
