Terry and I have strikingly similar upbringings, backgrounds, and issues. My dad is what sociologists call an "Intimate Terrorist" with the Dark Triad. I have PTSD from shit that I heard, saw, and watched from as young as I can remember. Everyone I grew up with is either dead or serving a life sentence, and even though I'm mostly a failure at life, my record is clean at 41. I'm not prideful about much, but I'm prideful about that. Terry's been a huge inspiration to me for years. Thank you all for this conversation.

Interesting comment. A lot of us have dark stuff in our past, it's just the way humanity works, but it sounds like you likely grew up in a socioeconomic deficit as well, which is the really tough thing to escape...maybe I'm misreading that aspect. Good on ya for the clean record, but it's not too late to get more out of yourself & your life. For example, I think a good starting point, & I'm not kidding here, is to look at simple stuff about yourself like why your fake CZcamss name is "Ninja Dildo Show"...at 41 years of age. I'm not attacking you, or even critiquing you, but that one simple thing did strike me as something not fitting a 41 man who wants to be mature & respected, & respectful of himself. There is no historical literature even hinting that ninjas ever used dildos...well, nunchaku...maybe?

This was everything Howie had said Terry's podcast would do; It heals . I have had a rageaholic in my life terrorizing me and my family. Instead of being reactive & picking up the pieces after he storms through, I'm going to say: you must have spent most of your childhood afraid, things were unpredictable & you felt vulnerable. Only you can change how you feel , only you can accept it and release your fear that you've been holding on to.

Thanks for your podcasts Howie. I still suffer from panic attacks, and bad depression. With meds and my mental health workers,I'm good . The best thing I have is making my friends and people laugh. It makes me feel so good. I've always loved laughing,physically and mentally it is the best therapy when it comes from the top of your head and not quite sure what your going to say next.

I knew him as nothing but a swearing comedian when I was growing up in the 80's...he was a a very "blue" comedian, if you will. He was a regular potty mouth, if ya wanna get down to it😆 I still have all of his comedy specials fro the 80's amd early 90's from cable or bought from eBay...

Terry, thank you for sharing your story. I have seen and experienced very similar parts of your story. It seems like our faith has so many corrupt and hypocritical people. My faith in God has been challenged so many times by the people who were harmful and used God as a weapon to shame and control. It is so hard to build relationships in communities where people are too blind and fearful to ask questions and speak up. 🥺💔 I am so grateful that you shared your story. Terry, I have been an educator and advocate on sexual assault, TDV, DV, Bullying and I loved speaking to Middle and High schools, but I also spoke to members of the community. I had an abusive childhood, married a guy like my dad, alcoholic and emotionally abusive and sometimes other abuses in the mix. But long before being an educator and after childhood traumas, I had years of support groups and one on one counseling. You touched on how you were able to cry openly, after counseling and how you now were free to get your stories out in the open.
I just have to say, by telling your secrets in counseling you took away their power! Secrets for abused people, addicted people hold so much power over us. Thank you for sharing your stories to help free others from their powerful secrets!

Love Terry Crews! as someone who grew up w some of the same issues, he's 100% correct on a lot of religious fanatics.
The one thing i learned as a kid was the more religious a person was, the more guilt they had in their personal life, which in turn made them more judgmental and hypocritical.
This is why i will ALWAYS be a spiritual person rather than a religious one.
God should bring people together, not divide them like organized religion.
Listened and watched every episode so far and loved today. Always look forward to Tuesday. And no..I don’t live in Croatia.

Yo my man can talk and I loved it
This is so relatable to me, first of all I’m a huge fan of Terry and his work and I also grew up Pentecostal from the age of 12 to 32 and I was in this same type of cult like religious movement and I can relate to everything that Terry went through inside of the religion. It was mind controlling for me and it takes over your entire life and once you take the blindfold off as an adult you find yourself trying to reboot and restart a whole new life, kind of like a rebirth. At the age of 32 I had to allow myself to wear certain clothes I wasn’t allowed to wear because of the religion. In a nut shell teaching myself that I can wear a pair of jeans and not be judged and go to hell was so hard for me. Things like piercing my ears for the first time at 40 years old was such a redeeming step for me, also getting a short pixie haircut was also a redeeming factor in my recovering from the religious control that was placed upon my life. Terry is on point with the self image thing. Thank you for this topic it is more common then people realize. Thank you for sharing your story Terry.
