skill methodz crew inspired a lot of bboys around the world indeed
bboy abstrak is the first bboy who took the bruce lee's concept of flowing like water in the bboyin's movement

Yes, Abs is very counterintuitive. Most bboys, just by the way they set up and torque their moves, you can predict what position, freeze, blow up, pose, or whatever they're gonna be in, but this is because we're bboys and we're use to the body mechanics. With Abs, he'll move a certain way, and in my mind, i'm playing out whats the next logical move, and BAM he'll just move the other way. Its hard to explain. But say the way you wind up your body for a windmill or a 6 step to go one direction

This guy started the korean bboy movement. He is a legend there. Without Abstrak there is no such thing as korean bboying...

@@karthik_silkroads he went to Korea when bboying was only power and showed them foundation and "style." If you closely watch korean bboys dance as a whole, you see abstrak's influence. He is highly regarded in Korea. Many top korean bboys stil look up to him today. He is a legend there. Thus the God Father of Korean Bboying.

      Yes, rivers. Early years...
"Koreas Bboy scene got influenced by Abstrak (Skill Methods/RockSteady Crew), who came as judge in 2004. The influences brought a change the former way of thinking which was focused on technic and powermoes. From then on, they put weight on the importance of music and basics. Some popular crews already knew about foundation/basics, but I think that most of the Korean Bboys mused on this aspect at this time."
This is because of abstrak. Hands down.

@@floaterz1122 Holy fuck, appreciate the history lesson. Abstrak's control style, where he can instantly change his speed and direction has been an immense inspiration for me. As well as koreans, with their work ethic and the way they play around with the basics. Phenomenal to see this connection!

@@karthik_silkroads just preaching the gospel. He influenced around zero year maybe a little after. Enough to change a movement to where it is today. Truth be spoken, no abstrak- no korea bboying as it is now. Peace brother.

haha Thanks, the biggest problem i had in putting this together was finding music that would suit Abstraks style. The first song is actually an instrumental to Peter Bjorn and John's Young Folks, 2nd and 3rd are Aesop instrumentals, Zero Dark Thirty and Leisureforce.

Abs will do a pre-wind up move like that, but then go somewhere completely different from what you thought. I've tried mimicking some of Abs runs and i can't for the life of me do 90% of what he's doing because of how he moves, its incredible. That and the fact that i've never seen him repeat the same sequence of moves, not once.

yeah you can almost see where Abs drew his inspiration from in terms of his foundation, Ken, Storm, etc... To me though, my favorite modern bboys are Cloud & Abs.
