The hardest part is by far the rejection of those you care about and when they figure out that you won’t deviate from your path even when they threaten to leave. The sad reality is very few women and only select individuals will actually see and care for a Sigma the way a Sigma longs to be intimate.

Over analyzing, over thinking. #4. And definitely #1. Feeling and being alone, even when I crave interaction with others. The older I get, the harder it is to get new friends, especially when you move into a new area. I have fewer friends than I used to have. Yep! Thats me! And usually to my detriment.
I am sorry, but I disagree...and for this very basic reason: Birds of a feather, flock together. Essentially, this means your reclusiveness is not to your detriment. In the end it is a plus. Most people are crap. You have learned this (over, and over, and over, and over again). If you are a good person, those are the types of people who will gravitate to you. You will inevitably end up with fewer, but better people around you. This is one of the best lessons I have learned in my life. The trick is to find a woman (partner...whatever) who appreciates this.

Me too, 69. I have done well in life but never really been completely at ease with "normal" people. The last few years have been hell because I saw the truth straight away that is only now starting to be acknowledged. Only one person has said "you were right all along, I am on your side now". That was worth a lot to me.

The people who say they love the isolation obviously don’t have kids. I generally like going my own way, but I absolutely DO NOT like the feeling of being isolated from my kids. Other than that, I prefer my dogs and horses.
The path I walk doesn't require talk, the dreams I chase I choose the pace, another's estimations have nothing to do with my destination, hate is as hot as burning tar! It will show a scar on those near and far, from those who could but don't! to those who should try but won't! to the haters who just stare and point! in the end, they never win, that's their sin!

Over analyzing is activated usually from a past experience that is similar in event. This actives an immediate awareness of similar patterns repeating itself, as someone who does this. I can tell you more then not, I have avoided way more situations that would have done me wrong, then over play something that should have been. Look how many humans (specifically men) go through devastating losses while being nieve and often creates situations where they have no way out. :(
True.....misunderstood since youth till now ....in my 60s....n true again analyzing n dissecting each sentence.....but thats my character...

It's anything far from a sad reality. it's a way of life/freedom while the vast majority buy into the same nice and easy life all because they're too weak to actually keep to it by throwing in the towel while we continue to soldier on! 😂
Everyday struggles it’s hard being a 1% er!!!!
There's nothing sad about it. We love this stuff. Isolated? I seek out isolation! "Alone in a crowd"? The only thing better than feeling alone in a crowd is being completely alone! Misunderstood? Who cares? Anyone whose company I might hypothetically enjoy would understand me...if they don't, they're not for me- I don't have the time nor aptitude nor desire to educate everyone- they still wouldn't understand anyway. Friends? LOL! When we were young there may've been a period where we had to come to terms with the fact that we are not "normal", and don't enjoy or desire the things most others do- but that's a GREAT thing, as the process of realization and rejecting the mold, and coming to confidently own who we are is something I wish everyone could experience, as it would mean that there would be far fewer miserable people in the world. Some people start coming to these realizations when they are old. We sigmas are the lucky ones who start the process when we are but adolescents. I'm 62, and can still remember some of my thoughts when I was 5, and how I was seeing already that the way of the crowd was not for for me. I questioned things and saw things that most adults never do.
To me, if you find your routine tasks boring, you really haven't tapped into your sigma self too terribly deeply. I'm doing it rather frequently, even though I don't think I'm 100% sigma. I just suddenly do odd things like cut my steaks with my fork, or invent a new way to use something I always use, looking for more efficiency. Just think about any one thing, and ask yourself, "What if?" For example, a nail, what if I build a doll house out of nothing but nails? What if I find a new technique to me, or maybe anybody else, to hammer down my nails? What if I find a way to melt them, what can I do there? What if I find a way to use them as darts, or dart tips? What if I hammered them into anthills? See what I mean? BTW, my name actually means "free man" (it's not my first name).

Agreed my social circle has gotten much smaller over the years BUT I have a solid group of people around me when needed.

@@jpbart1390 Thank you, because there's a misconception that Sigmas are loners, socially recluse people.We have BARRIERS to filter out those not beneficial to us .Sadly some people fight(online)over the title "Sigma"like this is a RIGID construct/philosophy.At the end of the day ALL theory/philosophy comes from MAN!! My approach to ALL knowledge/information is to distill what works for ME.I follow no one.

@@Waakiyl01 I too think it's pigeonholing. What I've learned about the Myers-Briggs personality system is that people have certain traits from each of the Greek letters. I, myself find myself to have mostly Sigma, Zeta & Omega traits, but I don't really consider myself completely any one of them. I know for a fact I am a loner, unfortunately I'm one that doesn't get left alone, which was an issue I had at all 7 schools I went to. Keep playing to the beat of your own drum. I do.
