日枝神社 山王祭
徳川時代、江戸城内に入御した御神輿を、三代将軍家光公以来、歴代の将軍が上覧拝礼する「天下祭」として盛大をきわめ、江戸三大祭の筆頭として、さらに京都の祇園祭・大阪の天神祭と共に、日本三大祭に数えられているお祭りで、例年6月に開催されます。さらに、隔年で東京都心を300mの神幸行列が練り歩く神幸祭も山王祭の行事として開催予定で、境内では江戸時代の伝統芸能である邦楽やお茶、お花、など様々なイベントが開催しています。
Hie Shrine Sanno Festival
During the Tokugawa period, the mikoshi (portable shrine) that entered Edo Castle was viewed and worshipped by successive shoguns, beginning with the third shogun, Iemitsu, at the "Tenkasai" (national festival), which is held annually in June. It is the first of the three major festivals in Edo, and is counted among the three major festivals in Japan along with the Gion Festival in Kyoto and the Tenjin Festival in Osaka. In addition, the Shinko Festival, in which a 300m Shinko procession parades through the center of Tokyo every other year, is also scheduled to be held as part of the Sanno Festival, and various events are held within the shrine grounds, including traditional Edo-period Japanese music, tea ceremony, and flower arrangements.
