- This is a quick review of a very old-school and quirky BMW M636CSi E24 from 1985, also known as the very first BMW M6. The car features a 3.5L straight 6 engine that makes 286hp and 340Nm of torque.
This is probably my favorite car from the 1980s, because it looks, feels and sounds so freaking cool.

@@urbanonwheels Im just lucky that I live in Germany, here you can get E39s and E36/46 in good condition at a fair price. Still tough if you want an E38 thou.

They were called M6 in Japan and the USA I believe. ROW they were M635.
@@julian4548 I doubt it , they were always M635 , the csi was lovely .
I own a M635.
This name was used in Europe and ANZ.
When released in the US ( maybe a year later) they were marketed and sold as M6. The major difference being an emissions related reduction in power down from the 286 hp of the M88 to the S38 with 256 hp …..
