- This time around it’s all about changing the old, broken, and incorrect drop targets to brand new ones. At end of vid there’s a scoring issue when the 8 ball target drops that I could really use some advice on how to troubleshoot.

With c-clips you might find it easier to lever them off by putting a flathead screwdriver blade between the back and the post, and twisting the screwdriver to pop it off.
czcams.com/video/CrqUPk5-TXI/video.html for those inline drop targets, the plate that the bottom of the targets rest on lets you slide the plate up and down to get the height of the targets flush with the playfield.
The easiest way to get the level right is to back off the screws on the adjustment plate, and put a flat-edge over the inline targets (so you get the profile of the playfield aligned with the actual tops of the targets).
Then tighten up the adjustment screws to lock in the height position.

On Paragon they have the head of the target at a 45-degree angle compared with the shaft, so you don't need that weird bracket thing-o.

You might need to disconnect all the plugs on the board and hit them with some 400 grit emery tape on the contact side of the plugs.
If that issue is only happening when the assembly is in the gameplay position, not the service position, it sounds like the gaps between the switch contacts may be misadjusted. And they only play up when the weight of the assembly is applying some downward force on the switch.
Check that the switch is screwed in tightly onto the drop target bracket. Also check that when the switch is in the closed position, that nothing is shorting out.
If the fault is intermittent it may be the resistor on the switch if one is present.
Did you ever get that 8 ball drop target stuck issue resolved? The exact same thing is happening to mine and it’s driving me crazy!!
