- Follow the adventures of a bold lamb (Judah) and his stable friends as they try to avoid the sacrificial alter the week preceding the crucifixion of Christ. It is a heart-warming account of the Easter story as seen through the eyes of a lovable pig (Horace), a faint-hearted horse (Monty), a pedantic rat (Slink), a rambling rooster (Drake), a motherly cow (Esmay) and a downtrodden donkey (Jack). This magnificent period piece with its epic sets is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Enveloped in humor, this quest follows the animals from the stable in Bethlehem to the great temple in Jerusalem and onto the hillside of Calvary as these unlikely heroes try to save their friend. The journey weaves seamlessly through the biblical accounts of Palm Sunday, Jesus turning the tables in the temple, Peter's denial and with a tense, heart-wrenching climax, depicts the crucifixion and resurrection with gentleness and breathtaking beauty. For Judah, the lamb with the heart of a lion, it is a story of courage and faith. For Jack, the disappointed donkey, it becomes a pivotal voyage of hope. For Horace, the, well the dirty pig, and Drake the ignorant rooster, it is an opportunity to do something inappropriate and get into trouble.

This movie was made in a South African studio, one of the first 3D movies made in SA and my husband was the Head of Dynamics (fire, wind, cloth etc. He was one of the few non Christians on the film and got dramatically saved one night in a lightning storm while fixing cables with a Pastor in the Studio. We once found a bootleg copy in Vietnam and are so encouraged to still see it touching lives now. This movie was a labour of love and much struggle for its team, many many long nights spent to make it come about. And yes the ending seems to make me cry and cry…it must be the Holy Spirit’s intention with it!

After watching this movie, I realised the creation recognised Him as their King even before He gave His life for us all but His own people did not recognise..Also reminds me of this verse - For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

This is my favourite animated movie of all time. I remember 10th April 2012, on my 5th birthday my grandmother (R.I.P) got this movie for me and I watched it with her and loved it to bits. In a few weeks I’m going to turn 17 and I still miss those times and I miss my Gran so much. My Grandmother taught me a lot about my faith and was very close to me. This and Ice Age are my 2 favourite animated movies of all time.

I just watched this last Saturday after Svengoolie and sventoonie and let me tell you I cried. Looked up the soundtrack and cried some more. One of the most powerful soundtrack out there. Definitely worth watching and listening to. I am recommending it to me Sunday school I know they'll love it.

The animation is cheep, but the story, characters, and voice woke are great. The lamb is cute. Jack the donkey is my favorite character. I love movies that have animals meeting Jesus.

When I first saw this film I didn't like it, but I have come to love it.
46:00 Just touches my heart and brings a little tear to my eye (no lie on that, because I'm just super emotional). I notice the little things in life, and when she was the ONLY dove...the ONLY animal that turned back around just to give thanks to the little white lamb for her freedom. THIS is how we need to be with Jesus and the next soul that shows us kindness.
We just aren't thankful enough and can be so selfish and entitled. Every time I begin to feel this sin nature creep in, I can just come back to this particular scene and remember that an attitude of gratitude always starts in the heart.
Reminds me when God healed several men from laboredseed (I don't know how to spell it), and only one came back to thank him.

This movie, though partially fictional (because there's no proof the animals did what they did) is still full of wisdom and I believe God used it and still uses it to evangelize to kids or tell kids who Jesus is.

To the people complaining about how bad this movie is. My 6 year old has never laughed so hard about any other movie. They did a great job catering their humour to his age group.

I agree… People are just angry and can’t be happy about anything so instead of enjoying things or letting others enjoy things they love the company and want to discourage others from liking things too. My son is 5 and he enjoyed it too. Just because you don’t like a movie doesn’t mean it’s a bad movie.
