You better marry that woman, Riley. She sailed around the world for you.
Don’t be silly she did it because she wanted to. I am sure she enjoyed the adventure. It’s not like he owes her.
Hey Dax - don't suggest that, too many of us are in love with her. He has been the lucky sob that has been with her all this time. I try and not be jealous or envious of anyone but gosh I can't help myself. She is such a sweet person not just in looks but in personality. That smile infects everyone. Hey Riley All I can say is "Good on You". Best to both of you in all you do. Very sorry to see her get injured but happy it turned out to not be serious although I know it must have been painful and scary at the time. As far as showing the bad times I agree that grabbing a camera is not a priority during those times but describing them and discussing them afterwards does help us realize that it is not all peaches and cream.
Why do you all have to be so toxic? This is genuinely beautiful. I really enjoyed feeling connected to these people, and here you are talking about them dying or banging each other. Go make something of your lives.
Why some toxic comments? One word: jealously. Just ignore the losers.
its called Envy... most people now days don't know how to feel grateful and happy for other human beings.
It's the anonymity of youtube coupled with the despair in their lives. When you don't love yourself and your life you make fun and put down others because it's the only thing that makes you feel good and secure.
@@kukaratza 100%... but I have hope. I think we as a species are learning and changing our thoughts and perceptions of others. May all beings be happy and inspired on their individual journeys.
It's impossible to explain or even demonstrate on film how humbling it feels to be a speck in the middle of the great vastness of the sea. The constant creaking of the woodwork becomes the pulse of La Vagabonde as she carries you toward that far away destination, never too early to arrive, yet subtly she leaves you longing for return. The risk the introspection the hardships, the ability to be the student of ones self, the intimacy of the team and the shear beauty provide the ultimate rewards of accomplishment and respect. Thank you for giving us this glimpse into your adventure and be safe out there!
Aww seeing Elayna shedding tears of sadness is heartbreaking
It sounded really challenging, I'm glad you all overcame this challenging voyage!
11:20.., Its amazing how relaxed Elayna is whilst the pots are doing the Macarana on the stove.
The best part about this video is that Riley and his dad have the such a similar voice I through Riley was asking and answering his own questions
My retirement idea was sell the house buy a cheapo rent it and buy a boat sail round the world, I've changed my mind the ocean is bloody scary looking but I love watching you guy's living my dream.
We don't get to match much while we are out sailing, but just caught this episode. So well done you two! I almost cried at the end. The sleepless nights. The awfulness that comes when it seems like everything is just going wrong... thank you for taking the time to capture it. Good luck you two (not that you need it!). Cheers - Cat & Will
Hey Cat, Will, Elayna and Riley, any chance you can all make it to the Sydney Boat Show? Dinner is on me.
Thanks for filming the videos whether its the good or bad moments. Its all part of the adventure. I used to be in the United States Coast Guard so I feel your pain of being out at sea for weeks at a time. It can be mentally draining when the weather is not as desired.
steveo, thank you for your service in the USCG. I was a cryptologic tech in the Navy. I served 6 years at NSA and also served on the carrier USS America cv-66 and guided missile cruiser USS Josephus Daniels CG-27. So I too know a little bit about being at sea and cruising into hurricanes and such.
What Really Happens when you're Flying Around the World (Crossing the Gulf of Mexico) Ep. 44
It was either sail around the world or become one of the worlds most beautiful top models...
Love how you unveiled the curtain and showed some hard times too. Awesome stuff.
Already commented on Riley's photo on Instagram, but this was a particularly amazing video. Thank-you for the honesty - the small moments of baring it all really make a difference and it's just as beautiful to see all the "dramas" as it is to see the positives and sunsets and beautiful blue oceans and ideal situations. It was so nice to hear Elay's proudness in herself for her sailing, and lovely to see that quiet moment with Riley - and it's always nice to see Dad putting his say in (also HILARIOUS moment of him "enjoying washing"). But I'm super glad Elay didn't burn herself too severely - you guys are so, so inspirational and stronger than I think you give yourselves credit for. Cannot wait to see more footage, as always, and am always keeping up with the Instagram.
Endless amounts of respect for you guys - seriously hope our paths cross in some part of the world or ocean sometime in the future.
Love and safe sailing, as always x
You all are my hero's even though I'm 3 yrs late watching this episode but we really appreciate your real adventures and courage so much, you'll never know! I join 2+ million others in wishing you the best on your travels and Lenny is the cutest! Keep it up! We love everything about you 3, your travels and adventures! :-)
That's one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen. I can see why he took her on a sailing journey... she can't get away!
Amazing video! I was so concerned for Elayna, I hope she's 100% by now. Stay safe guys, this whole lifestyle is only a win if you don't get seriously hurt. BTW, if you want to kill it on youtube please do these two things. 1) Upload weekly and tell people what your schedule is. 2) Put Elayna on every thumbnail. (Umm, full respect of course. I'm just trying to help you.) Best of luck, I'm psyched every time I see you've uploaded again.
I have to admit I'm guilty of originally clicking on this channel because Elayna is such a beautiful woman, but I stayed with it, and I have watched every episode. This channel is better than anything on American television for sure. Riley has charisma, charm, intelligence, and rugged good looks, and Elayna is so adorable I am at a loss for words to describe her. I even love the various characters that have been brought on board, and Riley's dad is so cool. A movie casting director couldn't have found a more perfect soul to play Riley's dad, and it's actually Riley's dad !
What a fantastic story this is. I think when you too are done sailing around the world, you should pick another adventure and take all of us on it through the magic of CZcams.
I can't imagine a better woman to have along on a trip like this. Elayna always has the best attitude, even when things go wrong.
glad you showed the hard times. keeps it real, honest and gives a good perspective of your situation. love the vids
I felt bad seeing Elayna crying in pain. You are good people.
Even though we've never met, I'm really enjoying our travels together.
Just found you guys a few days back, already a huge fan! Waiting patiently for you guys to make it safely across the South Pacific and upload a new video! I can't wait.
That sunset was matched by your words of wisdom at the end. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Great work, congratulations to all! Your closing remarks, Riles, were dead-on.
Just came here to say how much I love Tony!!! 😂😂😂 what a legend, just love how he picks up the camera and starts to yarn.
I just started watching your videos this month, June 2019! I look forward to when I can hop on CZcams and catch a few episodes from my Favorite sailing family🤘😎 Sail Safe! ⚜
Hang in there guys!!! You're doing great!!! And, don't worry about filming everything...
"I've never been so proud of myself." That really touched my heart. Thank you:).
Wow! This is the first video I've seen of you guys. I don't know how you do it. The rocking, the creaking, the small spaces. I find it absolutely fascinating but honestly don't think I could do it myself. What an amazing channel you have. Very interested to watch more of your adventures :) x
you're doing amazing things. I love this channel- I'm envious of your ability to task, through all that hard work
this is amazing. dont know if its the time of day, but my eyes swelled a few times watching this. inspires me to chase my travel dreams. thank you for sharing your journey.
Thanks for sharing your adventure , its fascinating to us land-lubbers !
You all are amazing! I watch in awe as you do what you do. I don’t like being on the water but I find this all so fascinating and intriguing, how you manage all the things that come with sailing and entering different countries. I like that you don’t glamorize your travels, it’s just what you’re doing and seeing and how thankful you seem to be to be able to do it all.
This video completely and absolutely changed my life. Ever since 2016 I've been planning my life trajectory completely different.
That is one hell of a woman...I'm so impressed by her attitude. Most women wouldn't be able to do this stuff
cheap, sexist and imbecile comment. did I write imbecile? I meant stupid, inintelligent and probably uneducated.
+Jean Robillard nah it's just anecdotal...you can disagree that's cool. I wish I didn't believe it lol
I've done the same sort of thing with people that didn't particularly like me. Try that! Boiling large pots of water is a no no . Use a pressure cooker or grate and sauté your spuds.
What does being a woman have to do with it? "Most women" in your tiny world view of what being a woman means?
Thanks for your honesty guys living together 24/7 in a confined space could not be easy for anyone.
This looks amazing. I would loooooove to sail around like you two do. Thank you very much for sharing these videos.
Rewatching this 3 years later during the quarantine and reading the comments realizing how many creeps were on here 3 years ago.
I was so fucking sad seeing the thumbnail... Jesus you made me think someone died lol. GO BACK ON PKA. Would love to see you guys in again
please go back on pka if you get the chance, you guys were one of my favorite guests EVER! and ive seen every pka!
Love your sailing trips, its refreshing to see the reality of what can go wrong, thank you for sharing!!! 🙏🏼😃🤙🏻
This is a great video! This was an amazing insight on ups and downs, thanks for sharing! Hope everyone heals well!
Love this video :) You don't need to capture the hard times, but talking about them like in this video is awesome !
Boiling water is best done in calm conditions. Enough said.
For sure, that's when I eat out of the fridge, last thing you want is to get burned out there.
I'm glad they TRY stuff. But I'd guess these days they would just eat cold food in those conditions.
Pointing out the obvious like that really is redundant. You're not in their situation and it's SO easy to be a perfectionist when lounging in a chair in your comfy house.
Like they said, the waves had been like that for a few days. I think they just wanted some hot food to cheer them up. Hell if doing the laundry was the highlight of her day, I'm pretty sure they were willing to take the risk for some cooked food. The only real major slip-up was taking your eyes off the pots even for a second. Watching those things swinging back and forth was giving me an anxiety attack. I think if they'd just had two pairs of eyes and two pairs of hands at the ready throughout, things might've been okay.
Your show your way and that’s always good enough for me. Love all of your shared adventures, honesty, amazing views above and below the water. You don’t have to show the bad times, your viewers aren’t stupid and realize the tremendous courage and cooperation needed to survive at sea. You are both an amazing couple and truly gifted. Your fan, still watching and learning! Thank you much.
Wow I really like you guys! Thanks for the raw honesty. Love the adventure and love the realness. It’s nice hearing the whole story!
You two are doing a GREAT JOB on these videos. Be safe out there..
i got goosebumps from that sunset, holy s*** it was beautiful.
Hope you feel better soon. Don't let it get you down.
Good luck on the rest of the trip!
It's good to see the "real" as well as the "good". I can certainly understand not filming "everything" ; you have a boat and crew to take care of first. Thanks for sharing and keeping it real. I'm sure there will be much more good. Safe travels to you both.
might be worth it to try and get a little aloe plant on board for those burns, all natural and can add a some greenery and life to the vagabonde!!! feel better elayna!!
Ciaran Duignan aloe plant’s are SOOO amazing for so many different things! I love them!
@@Chantelschnidermarie Aloe plants are overrated, and that's coming from someone who grows and loves aloe vera plants.
Don't get me wrong, they are great, but they aren't "omg so amazing wow hehehe ;)~" or a miracle cure or anything like that. Get a grip, people.
Corbin Someone’s having a bad day 🤣🤣🤣 i think your the one who needs to get a grip
@@Chantelschnidermarie lol, what? My day is well, darling. Didn't realize I had triggered you so hard 😂😅😜😂😂😂😂 LOL
#sorrynotsorry #shrugs #littlegirlsbelikechantel #overrated
Corbin me triggered? Your getting heated over a .. plant ... #goodnight #uneedhelp #cya #lol
That stove looks scary as hell!
Wow... y'all have come so far! Your boat now seems so much more advanced and comfortable. A lot less noisy if anything.
The camera quality and editing you have now is much appreciated too!
Keep it up!
Hi from a guy in the UK. I just stumbled upon your beautiful channel and am mesmerised by it. Thanks for sharing such a precious and real experience.
dude that 15 yr old girl from northern Europe shoulda brought a camera with her when she sailed around the world. that gal was all alone
If you like that sort of thing, go watch Vendée Globe, it is a round the globe, singlehanded, no stop, no assistance race. Basically world-class sailors alone for 80 days or so.
president camacho that might be the one, I remember pictures and a ted talk from her, I didn't remember seeing that movie though, ill check it out
ya mate, Shes just something else, amazing what she did alone. I know i could not do that even if my life meant it. Id end up as shark bate Lol like most people would if they tried that .
Fishaman They say all alone, when in reality she had tailgaters. Every record setting event, or events to be ranked/officially documented would usually have a trail crew, or tailgaters of which second hand documentation is verified. Like her journey. Its also done for emergency reasons. These tailgaters need not be officially assigned either, but required places to touch bases with.
@Alan Naranjo He did not mean that. Read his comment, you absolutely idiotic imbecile. Nothing about his comment indicates anything sexual, moron. You only think sexual things regardless of context when you hear the words "15 year old girl" because some sort of sick trauma happened to you when you were young. See a therapist.
I always love how lighthearted and fun your videos are but it's also good to get a full prospective of the good and bad times! I really laughed when Riley was looking at Elayna's bum though!
Yes, please show every challenging and wonderful moment. I know on my sailing trips the lack of sleep because of the boat flopping around can be frustrating. Cheers! You guys are great.
i actually love watching you guys PRECISELY because of how positive you are! I've often intuited to how tough it is to do what you do, but i watch because i admire how you still persevere and remain loving and lighthearted!
About the washing. The way sailors used to do it, and what gave rise to the idea of the washing machine, is they would put the clothes in a cloth sack and drag it behind the boat in the water. It was the best washing technique known to man pre-washing machines.
the stove was fasinating to look at
having been a sailor my entire life i'm glad your journey has been safe be well and enjoy please keep taking more vids. real world is real world. crossings are no joke super stoked your has been a safe one.
I’m a fairly new subscriber, since Eamon and Bec, and am catching up with your videos. I watched the whole Greta Atlantic crossing and have nothing but deep respect for you. I saw Riley on Bert Kreischer’s podcast and enjoyed how grounded Riley was in the midst of Bert’s sometimes BS. Riley spoke about this trip with Elayna and his dad as being life changing and I’m eager to watch more of the crossing. This video captures the “ups and downs” of your life at sea and I, for one, appreciate your honesty and bravery in sharing your life with us. I’m looking forward to your new boat now being built in Vietnam…you’ve earned every inch of it with your vlog for your growing family and crew. Be well.
@3:27 What an amazing shot! The sheer beauty of it!
There are PLENTY of other videos of owners Fixing, Complaining, Fixing , and other awful stuff and more fixing stuff. No need to get into all that ,
Please, Keep making the Happy Videos like you have since the first. You, Trio, Delos, Impi, cheeky monkey, etc are great to watch.
Let the others have their Fix-it, 40 foot wave, Hurricane wind, repair this & that, Let them have their sinking boat videos while they repair more stuff. Some channels have 30+ videos of non stop fixing stuff. I wonder have they ever sailed? Since they need to fix something for half the video EVERY video, I start to think something is wrong
dude they just crossed the largest ocean on earth...oh course your gonna see, some tears, stuff breaking, fixing...and a bit of complaining. its called reality ;)
La Vagabonde has a perfect mix. Just saying some others have disaster after catastrophe. Of course things happen and show when they do. But would rather watch Blue Skys, Interesting towns, people, what they did at far away places. Things break , mention it, Fix it and move on
+Mark Star It also doesn't hurt that Elayna looks mind-blowing in a bikini
Man I felt that pain along with y’all of those long tired days. Great job!!!
this girl has one of the most beautiful smiles i’ve ever seen...
Very much like your videos, Alayna you are amazing. I would love to be your first mate on a trip. Sounds like you are an amazing cook. Kind of a person you need on a long trip. I applaud all of you for this amazing trip. I bet it was challenging and fun at the same time.
Amazing adventure. Hope your burn heals quickly. Thanks for sharing !
great how you manage all your feelings and emotions and keep going! love it!
They say that the human mind needs boredom to inspire creativity. This video and the video after supports that I think. I hated hearing about the burns and other problems but it does bring a better sense of reality to the experience. You two have come a long way since this was filmed.
i hope Alaina's arm is better 😟 ❤
***** i'm so happy to hear that. Please be safe ❤ i admire your strength to do what you do. put me in a boat in the middle of nowhere for that, and next thing , i'll be finding Nemo. Or talking to the fish. 😂
this video is incredible important guys, you need to show for security reasons for the people willing to sail like you, the absolute real picture and not only the real good days, because may be someone get fool enough to try to do it with less experience than even you guys have and have really bad times in open ocean situations. people need to know the bad times too, really important.
***** is a small boat, they know how to swim and is easy to motor back to man on the water location, but is a good point a life jacket.
+Sailing La Vagabonde Good to here that Elayna is better, have you considered using a microwave to boil things as it would be self contained it would be much, much safer.
I agree, worst thing that can happen is man overboard, especially at night. Always wear a harness
You guys are awesome! Thank you for sharing you're lives with everyone. It's truly amazing to see life from your perspective. I can sense the genuinity that you exhibit. It's truly refreshing and appreciated in this world of fakes and 'show off's'. I think you just became my favorite youtube channel! May God Bless you all and you're voyages!
Re watching their videos. I've just crossed the Atlantic Ocean and sat phones are the best things in the world. It's such an amazing feeling being able to talk to your love once that far out at sea.
Great videos! However, this life would not be for me, I would be bored out of my mind being holed up in such a small boat with nothing to look at but endless sea.
Didn't expect to see you here. Update your god damn intro. Pay someone ffs
is it a weird feeling walking on land after being in a boat for a long period of time?
I can imagine. I just stumbled across your videos an hour ago and am really enjoying them. thanks for taking the time to make them.
sea legs.. I lived on a boat as a child and now 15+ years later I still got them when I went sailing for 3 hours the other day
must be like when you jump on a trampoline for a while then get off and try to walk, it always felt very weird. very 'heavy'
Oh my goodness Elay, I cried too seeing you in tears and hearing your story! Good for you Riley for NOT filming that event!
Very special getting to make a crossing like that with your dad. Really happy you got to make those memories on such a passage. Happy for you guys. Cherish it.
Imagine moving like that for a month then getting on flat ground
Matrix it wat is was like when I was in the navy, after getting off the boat from California to Japan we all felt that way
I’ve done it before and let me tell you it’s nice to get on ground
Hey Riley! I don't know if you watch Casey Neistat but in one of his latest vlogs called "Vidcon in Disguise" he straight up looks like you with that awesome Stash! Good luck on the seas and looking forward to the next video!
+Sailing La Vagabonde I think you and he would get along great your personality would mesh very well
You two are amazing! I'm so impressed. I watch your videos while I'm making hats and restoring hats. I'm transported to your life and I really enjoy the joys and lows. Cheers!
Wow!!! Haven't checked in on you guys in a couple of months, and when I saw the thumbnail of you crying, my heart really went out to you. You are a truly beautiful person, so, keep the wind in yer sails...
that would be even more awesome with a bigger ship and with ten people on board, like the training ships of the navy.
I've started watching your channel about a week ago and have been addicted to your videos trying to catch up! Both of you are always so positive making me really enjoy your videos when i'm having a bad day. Keep it up!
This is probably my favorite video of yours, (so far!) after going back to watch it about 3-4 times because I already watched every video of yours. It really has everything in it, the hard times, that amaaazing sunset, the lack of comfort in such a small space that is constantly rocking about, the calm moments when everything is just perfect and relaxed and some fishing and just everything is so well shown and put together. This is really my absolute favorite video on youtube, and I spend to much time on youtube, believe me. I just watched your latest video about recruiting another member, and I'm so bummed out that I don't have the skills required, like premiere pro, but I'll maybe meet you in the future sometime, on an adenture around the world on my own future boat. You are a HUGE inspiraton to me, and I just want to thank you guys so much.
11:11 I love the way she says "you aright" haha, that's so attractive lol.
Did you guys ever think you'd have 190,000 subscribers!!!!!!!!! What a phenom you have become! Internet sensation! Lots of love! Aloha!!
I just love these two. It takes the weight of the day completely away. Thanks guys.
They're making over 30,000 dollars per month for this. A little hard, but for that kind of money it's really good, plus they get to travel all over the globe.
EleMenTfiNi
Yes, 6 thousand dollars per video. Go to their patreon page. It is patreon dot com / LaVagabonde
half a year later ... they have increased their income by a factor of ten. Patreon alone is getting them roughly 10 000$ for every video, and they are posting daily vlogs at the moment.
Pure insanity. Most people are slaving in factories with bleeding hands. These people enjoy a holiday and get a small fortune. Oh, capitalism...
This is July 2019.......I am impressed!
great video thanks once again
May your boat be leak free.
May your sails be in good repair.
May the winds be fair, the weather kind and
May your days be filled with the exquisite pleasure of new adventures, fabulous destinations and excellent friendship.
I ❤️this episode!! It’s one of my Favorites. Especially looking back at You & Riley. You look like Babies! Riley’s Dad is adorable. It’s great to see your “Raw, true honest Days, Real, true life. Most people only show the best hours of a Long Distance Crossing. I appreciate you both sharing yourselves. My Husband and I have been Sailing together for Eight years. The longest trip was 12 days, and that was So Much Hard Work, with the two of us on a Laguna 36. But, it was also the Best Vaca!! I can’t wait to do it again 😎⛵️
😀 I ordered MERCH today :). I’m so excited to get it!! Lenny gets more adorable every Day, such a Beautiful Family. ⛵️🐠👙🌼
Buy a security camera set-up on the vessel to film everything at all times. That would be fun, wouldn't it.
I don't know. Don't really need to see these wonderful people getting injured, or in their darkest moments.
I think it's more healthy for them to take a few seconds and a few breaths before a camera gets into play.
@berwwtje
I agree. But on the other side it would also help to get the funny moments on the camera. Maybe cutting the inappropriate scenes out of the video might help. It would be anyway needed in such a set-up, because no one can or wants to watch 24 h every day on the view of the same security camera.
Seeing them overcome adversity, that can be eye opening and inspirational. Even a point of view HD dash cam (ship cam) facing the direction the boat is going, might yield some amazing time lapses of the horizon. Make it "patron only" content, or do posters from pictures of the sunset/sunrises etc. ;) You can always select which content to show if something isn't appropriate.
OpenGL4ever I can see your and Hycron's ideas and mostly agree, the gathered footage is probably a great addition. The idea of a camera running 24/7 might have psychological effects though, even when you can control which content airs and which content does not...
Just look at how retarded people behave when they think you're taking a foto or some video... It might lead to subconscious unnatural ("fake") behaviour, which might lead to annoyance in the long run.
I could imagine a scenario where decisionmaking is altered from what is the wisest thing to do, to what looks good on camera (subconsciously of course).
personally I wouldn't install a 24/7 camera onboard unless it's only filming scenery... I wouldn't like to feel like I'm part of a Big Brother season on my own boat. Then again, I'm not much of an open book personality, while these lovely people clearly are.
Came for the ridiculously cute girl, stayed for the interesting content. Well done 😀
love the video. going to watch everyone of them. and i will pray for your safety and success.
Thanks for taking all us knobs along on your boat! Filming interesting stuff is a colossal hassle. Good job guys. Safe travels.
this girl is the definition of a "Natural Beauty"
and sweet too.
GEODEAHOLIC M someone said she is only 15 years old tho!!!
no, elayna is pretty & sweet, but she is gitting old, she is nearly 28. (gasp)
Jerry unknown even when she cried. I would look like a monster
stunning...
