The shovel that you seek is in the tower just off the edge of the claim near to where you are currently digging with the 400. To get to the tower there is gap in the invisable wall near to a broken tree and 2 large pipes. Just follow the path to the tower and climb it. Once you have the shovel find the path near the output end of the trommel and use the shovel on the unlit campfire.
After the update, be careful with your fuel. It's now game time, and drains fast. Others points, Now five buckets from big exc to fill the dump truck, and the area your empty the dumper has infinite limit, (but to be changed soon) so do 10 loads or so, then start it up and wash. Saving fuel is a must now. And, as always, Great Video!! And PLEASE keep this going for another week, before you drop it down to 3 times a week! EDIT : Hotfix (1.1.5855) has just landed, with meters for Dump Truck fill level and belt fill level. Guess no more infinite limit!
You can use the excavator boom and the track at the same time you have to be in diggin mode and then you can use the arrows on your keyboard to ude the tracks
Don't forget about the differential lock. You haven't been using it at all with the dumptruck... luckilly you haven't needed it for the most part, but it might have helped before the dumptruck slid.
Hi Frith:) if you press ctrl esc it minimises the game this allows you to do other things on your computer but it also allows you to run the game...and!! workers 24/7 just leave your PC running that way your workers are earning gold all the time the one thing that may alter this is the daily count screen still its beneficial while you are about
You can use front loader and put it's showel under the sluice and tailings will go in showel hopefuly. Thing about water washing the mats is true in real life but I don't know does it do it in game because in real life if you don't have material and only water going over the mats it will wash the gold out.
There's another interesting bug regarding the "containers". When I started the game I wanted to be clever with the hog pan and the bucket. If one shovel = 10% of the hogpan, and 1 bucket can hold 4 shovels at least, then 1 bucket = 40% of the hogpan, right? Wrong! 1 bucket = 4% of the hogpan... no matter how many shovels you put in. To find out if there is any difference between the wheel loader and the excavator, you should dig the ground from the same place, from the same game save (i.e. load the game for the loader, exit, load it for the excavator), otherwise it's already flawed with the error of various/random gold distribution in the ground. Just my two cents :)
Nice to see the employees generating some gold for you. It will be too late by the time this comment hits, as the update finally sorts out worker salary. I did notice you took a few seconds to look around, but while you went in a circle, you forgot about up and down. Pre patch, if I stood inside the tent, faced the exit, then looked at the floor, worker salary stopped while gold continued to rush in. Up and to the right was best overall gold rate, at least to start, but it changed continually. I just compared oz earned per 5 in game minutes to find the best spot to look. At one point I thought it might be tracking with the sun (wasn't). Regardless, thanks for checking it out. More staff and more time would have shown things a bit better. I love finding the odd quirks in this game, it is a large part of the entertainment value for me. Oh, and your two workers that keep losing their assignments, those are the two the Old Arnold claim let's you double up (you can put two staff on each of the first hog pan and hog pan pump, but the second set loses the task when you load), doesn't happen any other claim. Every hog pan added after the first of each only allows one worker. The other claims it is one worker to one pan, no bonus even on the first set. Not really useful info, but you asked, so figured i would let you know that is why those two keep needing to be reassigned.
I enjoy quirks of the game, they may have patched the workers a bit, but you'll notice some interesting details with them next episode. There was a hotfix released for a few things, so Sunday's episode may have some more significant changes again
hello when u watch the program gold rush they remove dirt before getting to the gold bearing dirt/gravel but in the game the dirt looks the same what ever depth you dig to ?
After you've dug your last scrap of gold, accumulated your immense fortune, created your gold monopoly empire run off the backs of hogpan employees, just before you decide to retire and hang your wash basin up for good I would love to see you have a little fun with the vehicles. Have a demolition derby with all the different vehicles, wearing a helmet of course, for safety, but I'd love to see you stress test these machines. Try to break the wheels and such on the pickup, the teeth of the buckets on the diggers and annihilate the tracks. Then try to fix them all back up. while it's obviously a small part of the game, you haven't needed to change a battery (which all the machines do need if you leave them on) or had to replace any parts with all those spares you keep accumulating.
only just found your channel and i am really enjoying your videos but i have to say you are terrible using the wheel loader and you gold from the mats is bad due to you leaving the water going while there is no pay dirt going through the machine it will be washed away i have subbed happy new year all the best :)

Yeah, they also patched the extra we were getting from the excavator and dump truck, but you'll see that bit tomorrow!

From what i have done i beleave that the jig is for separating the gold from bigger rocks and that is giveing you a higher amount of gold.
the Duplex pay dirt was becausE the mats only pick up flakes of gold and the big bits on into the duplex jig
Try moving the tailings and putting your mobile wash plant there to fill up
