    A rescue dog named Bailey is back home safe after figuring out how to ring the doorbell of the Texas shelter where she went up for adoption.
    A family had adopted the friendly husky mix from the Animal Rescue League of El Paso last month. At some point soon after, Bailey got loose and ended up running away, said Loretta Hyde, founder of Animal Rescue League of El Paso.
    The shelter immediately posted an urgent plea on Facebook asking anyone in the area to call them if they found her. A few people reported Bailey sightings but none were able to catch her. What happened next still has the animal shelter stunned.

    Kudos to all of you for loving Bailey and to Bailey for being so smart. The staff at the shelter must have treated her very well. When I first saw her picture, before I read the story, my first thought was "I want to adopt her." Lucky new owner, though he may need a GPS tracker for her. 🙂

    Well, that's sweet, she knew she would be helped at the shelter. I'm sure made friends there.

    The shelter IS Baileys HOME. It’s never a dull moment in the shelter vs peace and too quiet at a new person house.
    SHELTER IT IS! ❤ 😄

    Ouch to the new owner. Getting rejected by a dog that would rather go back to the shelter. That's got to sting a little

    Shelters do their best with the limited resources they have. Nowadays, it's just tough running one because of overcapacity 😢

    I hope it wasn’t bcuz she was yelled at or mistreated in any way!🤔
    Dogs are like human kids and will run away if they’re not happy…
    Best wishes to Bailey and her family 🙏

    Shame on all the people speaking badly of the new owner. If you watched the video, it was clearly stated that Micah’s new owner was not to blame.

    She really missed someone back at that shelter. They probably showed her plenty of live and she was still attached to them.

      Absolutely. It is our duty to care for these precious creatures that we are lucky enough to share a world with. The love & happiness they give us is far more than we deserve.

    Sad sounds like she might want to stay at the shelter? Maybe she doesn't want to be away from a sibling? Her mother or a best friend furry wise? Or wants one of the shelter's employees as her mommy or daddy? I've been rescuing animals for like 53 years. I've never heard of a dog returning on it's own to a shelter. To a former home or former own at times yes.

      @niccolom4556 Před rokem

      Yes and also maybe the new owner yells and is forceful and the dog doesn't like that. Also that new owner doesn't seem very capable if the dog got loose

      @RB1970_ Před rokem

      @@niccolom4556 my dog jumped over the fence and was just interested in exploring and not getting caught - common occurrence of which dog owners are familiar. My boys love to take off - they’re exactly like toddlers - turn your back for a second and they’re GONE .
      Attempting to insult a stranger and suggest the owner should have acted better is jaw dropping ,arrogant, shocking, unlearned and so disheartening.
      One doesn’t have to be abusive for a dog to take off. Not everything needs to be dramatically negative so you can feel superior to someone else.

    ✨calling all angels ✨ Micah,when your dog escapes,with you in hot persuut for several miles before giving you the slip,then finds it's way back to the animal shelter where you found him,maybe you should do some math?

  • @niccolom4556
    @niccolom4556 Před rokem +1

    Seems like that new owner isn't fit to adopt a dog if they can't even manage to keep it secure? Bailey clearly DID NOT want to be there!
