Lanning inherited a defense that started 3 lbs. Instead of wholesale changes of personnel prior to first season. He let a lot of existing guys try fill those roles. Now in year 3 it feels like his 2 linebacker scheme is fully functioning and for duck fans one of the best defenses at least on paper they have ever seen
Wouldnt be surprised if they choke again
So excited for this season. Gonna miss the Pac, but glad to be be part of the Big. Quack.
The PAC would have been fine if it was managed like the BiG.
The PAC and their universities are seriously incompetent!
Woke is for losers!
Ohio State usually brings 20,000 fans to Northwestern game.
Oregons AD said their was 15 Ohio area codes with season tickets to the Duck games. They got a following that's for sure. Pretty impressive.
A lot of prognosticators saying Oregon is so physical. I can’t wait to see it. I’m not sold just yet
lol where have you been?
So what as long as they can make the big plays-thats what wins games-BIG PLAYS
Corvallis is tough place to play, ask Pete when he was at USC. The beavers have a college basketball type of home court advantage
That may be true but they have been gutted. That’s an FCS level compliment of players they have that are about to be boat raced at a home. That game isn’t going to be within 21 pts
The wisconsin game for oregon in November has me worried
I would like Michigan State and USC to become a major rivalry in the Big10. Spartans vs Trojans, it's perfect. Let's refight the Trojan war every year on the football field.
Except MSU is so awful. Rutgers and MSU could be rivals though. Knights vs Spartans is cool though
Keep talking Huskers and Big 10 🔴⚪️GBR!
In Chicago its called the lake effect, as in weather men have no idea
Sco Ducks!
As duck fan glad Oregon going to Michigan instead of Penn state this year
Does this mean you would rather lose to Michigan rather than defeat Penn State? Strange idea.
I would think Penn State would be an easier game than Michigan.
Penn St will be better this year imo
8 home games for mich this year. That kind of schedule should be illegal. It should be capped at 7.
Ohio State is playing Northwestern at Wrigley Field in 2024.
Michigan was "set up" last year. With a ton of 5th and 6th year Seniors, the best QB in Michigan history and the #1 defense in the country
I think Michigan is still a 10 win team. Many studs, especially on defense
@@BenWeiner-hy1jc "Think" is not good enough
I KNOW they lost a bunch of players. I kNOW they lost a bunch of coaches. I KNOW they didn't resign Mike Hart. I KNOW they had 2 coaches fired for driving drunk. I KNOW they lost the best QB in Michigan history. I KNOW they lost their top 7 O-lineman. I KNOW they lost half of their defensive players.
To come close to last year they need MANY more "studs" than they have. These are the FACTS, where are your facts??
@@taxisquad11 my thoughts exactly. They essentially lost 80% of what made them capable of winning a title - a deep veteran presence of players and coaches. They aren’t elite at recruiting, so they can’t reload like a Bama, Georgia, or Ohio State can. There are far too many unknowns to project them higher than 8-9 wins. Expecting/projecting 10+ wins is peak optimism with no substance.
What did Smith say to that d line room a Michigan State?
I don't think buckeye fans realize what they are getting in Chip. His tenure at Oregon never required or relied on 5 star wide receivers. He recruited great blockers, with the motto if you don't block you don't see the rock. Not surprised if the dual threat qb wins the job, that's Chips bread and butter. Didn't think he adapted a very good scheme at UCLA for Dane Moore's skill last year. Chip main motto, run the ball, stop the run. Don't know or remember of a 1,000 yard receiver while Chip has been coaching college or pros
I think there's going to be some turmoil at the top. I think chip wants Day's job. I'm hoping when the tight games happen that there is power struggles.🎉
@@joeallen4540 That's a stupid comment when Chip does not want to recruit, and Day and Chip are like best friends. Chip was Days OC in college. As far as Chip and the passing game, Chip has NEVER had the skill players that he'll have at OSU. Day will make sure Jerimiah Smith is made very happy.
@@joeallen4540 You prove your lack of football intellect. Chip Kelly left UCLA because, he wanted no part of being the CEO of a football program. CEOs must squeeze money out of big boosters for NIL. They have to know how to spend NIL money. They are responsible for retaining and getting players out of the portal. They have to be good closers of recruits in every position group. ALL OF WHICH Chip hated. He came to Ohio State so he could just COACH football again AND for the last years of his coaching career.
DO NOT bloviate, do the required research, so as not to be embarrassed in the future
Yes and Chip had all the time in the world at UCLA and was always crapping out at end of season
When he was at Oregon he inherited an amazing machine and put his scheme in, but he isn't ahead of everyone anymore.
I don't think he will help Ohio State.
@@Donnachaidh07 The money at UCLA is not there to have a good team at the beginning or the end of a season
If Michigan can utilize AO, and make the run game concrete, they will repeat again and get the bye for the playoffs.. if they cannot, I agree.. 8-4 at best. But both th Oline and Dline are going to be awesome. Morgan and others in that WR room are small and stupid fast and will be a terror for people to handle. Loveland is just a beast. The Don should be amazing this year as well. His home run ability will be front and center, but Mullings will be the beef. On D.. well.. there’s going to be a lot of QBS running for their life.. but they won’t get far. The run wall will be intact, the blitzing more aggressive which will translate also to some great opportunities for the secondary to make great plays. I have a lot of faith in coach Moore and I think he is going to be aMaizing.
Orji will never be the QB JJ was. The 7 top O-linemen are gone. Half the defense is gone. Harbaugh is gone. The assistants from last year are gone. Thirty from the 1st and 2nd string from last year are gone. Moore couldn't keep the best player, JJ McCarthy.
Michigan will be good, but not good enough to be in the Big Ten Title game
With the most awesome UM team ever, they beat OSU by 6 points in Ann Arbor. UM lost a ton and OSU brings back a ton. I look for OSU to win by at least two TD's next year and if Ryan Day is pissed for any reason, look for a complete wipeout.
Ohio state will get in they pretty much have a spot every year especially since it’s 12 teams they’ll be there and so will notre damn idk why the ncaa meat rides them maybe money either way they’ll make it then get flat out embarrassed
But how many of the 18 teams have a chance of making even the playoffs????
Hey cool can we fix the Michigan State timestamp?
Will be a fascinating year indeed.
More pain than glory, but thankfully I can rebuild the team faster in NCAA 25 this summer.
7 wins is a good ceiling. Should split the last 4 at 2-2, but expectations are certainly there for future seasons.
How many road games does Michigan have 😮😅
Pretty sure every Big ten team has 7 home and 5 away unless their is a neutral site game
Disrespecting Kirby Smart
"Or bust" is stupid. As has been seen. A bad call, an injury or missed FG can mean the end to a season.
UCLA is a complete ?
Michigan has a snowballs chance of repeating.
As national champions? You're correct. This season is about making the playoff and maybe winning the Big Ten again. Only 3 teams on their schedule scare me being Texas, Oregon and Ohio State. Texas has no impact on their Big Ten title hopes.
"in hell"
@@mgoboski They will lose all 3 of those, and they’re not making the CFP, at 9-3.
@@givemeabreakdoc they're going to be better in the trenches than all 3. Oregon is the closest to them. I fear Texas the least. All of the early lines are within 3-5 points so I expect to pull 1 of the 3 at least.
@@mgoboski lol. Texas is gonna blow their doors off.
Oregon will have practically no fans at their east coast games
Really they don't travel well? The bigger teams in the conference like Michigan, and OSU do travel well so it surprises me a team like Oregon doesn't.
@@marks2807 More money in the mid east?
@@marks2807 More years at the top gathers a more committed fan base?
Ohio has almost 3 times the population and Michigan has well over double
@@billwatson5400 Plus, OSU is the only MAJOR football school in the state. Ohio state plays and in state schools and most of their students' root for Ohio State
USC is getting back to recruiting nationally for guys in the trenches. Duck fans hear socal recruits say, kids from socal don't necessarily want to stay in socal. Kids from the rest of the world love it
Whatever helps you sleep at night
I was happy to listen to this episode before they inevitably pulled out the “Nebraska possibly to the CFP” card.😂
How many years in a row are we going to keep doing this? It’s borderline cruel to the Husker fanbase at this point. You guys are either delusional OR farming for clicks. My guess, it’s a bit of both. We hear this same stupid prediction EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Give it up! The 90’s ain’t coming back!😂
Georgia will be there to greet you, whomever makes it to the finals, assuming the Big Ten gets there at all
Ah, but that is the thing, isn' it? 1 more game with a major battle-tested opponent to get to the final game. Go ahead and assume you win but that the SEC is not longer invincible. It is a new day in college football.
@@joyis9638 Especially if Michigan is able to repeat. They will go through a Meat grinder to get there. OSU also though there schedule is not as bad as Michigan's. The way the Big Ten Championship is now their champion is going to have to earn their spot now. The Big Ten Champion is likely to have to play the second best team in the conference twice this season, and if it is OSU, and Michigan they will have to play two weeks in a row.
@@marks2807 Oregon is more likely to make the Big Ten title game than Michigan is
All the loud teams, like my Hurricanes, and other offseason champions are chirping, and Georgia who will win it all this year and should have been going for four in a row is sitting quietly... The confidence that greatness gives makes you not need to bark the loudest in the offseason.... God this reminds me of my old Miami Hurricanes, we spoke during the games like nobody's business but didn't need to say much in the offseason... 😭😭😭
Oregon will likely beat Ohio State in Eugene. Oregon's roster is better than Ohio State's. Oregon's roster is underrated
Which position does Oregon have better players than osu ?
Haha
@@maar9526what position has Michigan had better than OSU the past 3 years
@@nicholastaiariol2631 better spys!
every REAL expert in the country says Ohio State has the best and deepest roster in the country. "Underrated" NEVER makes it best
Alabama will win the national championship this year Michigan has no chance they play a cupcake schedule cuz big 10 is trash.
Roll tide!
lol

Bama lost twice last year,. To remind you, Michigan went 15 and 0 , won the Natty, and beat Bama along the way. Bama is wheezing without Saban.
Is Saban on the sideline or something?
Are you talking about the same coach that got smashed in the natty? Unless a young Saban is walking through the door then this comment is valid, until then hush. bama has some big whoopings coming.
