- Several protesters were arrested from many US universities on Wednesday as pro-Palestine protests intensified. Videos showed hundreds of state troopers and police with batons trying to disperse protesters at the University of Texas and the University of Southern California.

If people in high places decide to repress these protests, I am afraid that the movement will go underground and become violent. Free speech is liberating. Repressed speech can become a cause for violence. These young people have a perfect right to speak their minds.
No matter what yu think, you cannot argue that students are complacent and uncaring. This is what higher education is all about. That is inspiring and educating young people to "actively" participate in the democratic process. I salute the students who were arrested and hope that their arrests will be overturned and stricken from the record.
